The Cresbot is a pet dropped by Automatons, of which it is a mini version. Automatons can be found in Guthix's Cave west of the Legends' Guild after completion of The World Wakes, The Firemaker's Curse, the Ritual of the Mahjarrat, The Chosen Commander, The Branches of Darkmeyer, and The Void Stares Back, and level 67 Slayer. In order to activate the Cresbot, the player must poke the drop unlock item. It is also possible to receive a Cresbot from the reward chest from Rush of Blood.

Cresbots do not need food, thus will not run away due to hunger.

Most Wanted card (automatons) will increase the chance of getting the drop.

Trivia

edit
  • The line "Compliment-acknowledged. Smug-mode-enabled." is a reference to a line from the character Kryten in the British comedy TV series Red Dwarf.
  • Cresbot's line about lack of emotions making it sad may be a reference to a line from the robot Bender in the show Futurama. Similarly, the dialogue about the "Item-clog in port-5" refers to another Futurama episode where a robot version Lucy Liu shuts down and self-destructs from a "MASSIVE CORN CLOG IN PORT 7".
  • The line "Item-contains-contaminant." is a reference to the character MO from the movie Wall-E.
  • At the start of conversation 3, cresbot say "You-are-my-best-friend-INSERT-NAME-HERE" this is a reference to GlaDOS in Portal.
  • It used to be possible to have multiple Cresbots at once, as long as you stored them in your house before killing automatons. This no longer applies since Cresbots were moved to the Pets interface on 6 March 2017.
