History
[edit | edit source]At first Dr Fenkenstrain was a lonely scientist who lived in parts unknown. Later on he decided to move into Morytania, but due to it being inhabited by werewolves he knew he would surely be killed. However, in order to avoid this, he obtained employment with a local rich human family who possessed the ring of charos, an ancient magic talisman that fools werewolves into thinking the human who possesses it to be another werewolf.
Fenkenstrain eventually decided to steal the ring of charos but he was caught by his master, Lord Rologarth, and Fenkenstrain was forced to kill him. With his master dead, Fenkenstrain was later caught by the other family members, and he killed them as well. With the family dead, Fenkenstrain took control of the castle and got rid of the bodies by selling them as meat to the Hair of the Dog inn in Canifis.
Eventually the family gardener started suspecting the disappearance of the family and a desperate Fenkenstrain sent him to dig graves in the woods. However, when the gardener left, Fenkenstrain followed him and decapitated him with a spade, turning him into the headless Gardener Ghost.
Getting an Assistant
[edit | edit source]Fenkenstrain managed to obtain the services of a passing human adventurer while looking for assistance. He tasked them with finding several body parts for an upcoming experiment; a head, torso, legs and arms. Once they obtained all of the body parts, he requested a needle and some thread to stitch the body together, before having them create a conductor made out of silver. He then reanimated the body, before realising he had made a mistake and ordered his assistant to kill the creation.
Unbeknownst to Fenkenstrain, the head the adventurer obtained for him was his former master. The adventurer confronted the creation, who was shocked to find itself turned into an undead creation. The undead creation then introduced itself as Lord Rologarth, the owner of the castle, and requested that they stop Fenkenstrain. The adventurer confronted Fenkenstrain and stole the ring from him. Upon realising that it was missing, he fled to the highest level of the castle, now that the werewolves realised that he was a human.
Escape
[edit | edit source]Brother Tranquillity requested the same adventurer who foiled Fenkenstrain to obtain his services, as he was a certified brain surgeon, and Tranquillity believed he and the other monks would be able to redeem him in Saradomin's eyes. The adventurer met him at the top of Rologarth's tower, and in desperation, Fenkenstrain stated that he would do anything to escape. He was initially confused by their request, but agreed to it regardless, seeing it as his only way to escape the werewolves. He warned them against teleportation, as he had an allergic reaction to it. Despite this, he was teleported twice, much to his anger.
Fenkenstrain requested several items before he could conduct brain surgeries on the undead monks, which the adventurer acquired. He then set to work returning the monks' brains to their human bodies, which was a success. Following the operation, he decided to remain on the island so he could atone for his past mistakes.
