RE: GazBot - tier issue?

You are correct, thanks for letting me know. I believe it only affects shields and capes - I think my script skipped the tier adjustment for those by mistake. I'll see about fixing both my script and on-wiki errors.

There is the open question of what to do with capes, though. Capes usually have a damage bonuses - does that make them 'hybrid power' and worth +20 tiers (making superior reefwalker t105)? Can we map cape damage bonuses onto a tier relationship like other armour slots (Calculator:Combat stats#Armour damage) - do the damage tiers line up with the armour tiers? Do we just ignore cape damage and treat them as if they were pure hybrid (+15 tiers)? What's your opinion on this?  Gaz Lloyd _7:^]^Events!_99s 14:32, 6 July 2019 (UTC)

Don't edit userpages

 Please do not edit other users' userpages on the RuneScape Wiki, as you did to the userpage User:Tyilo, as per this policy. If it was your userpage, please log in before editing to avoid uncertainty over whether the edits are what the owner wants. However, a few exceptions can be made. You may edit another user's userpage:

• ... if you notice anything obviously rule-breaking on a user page (crude photos, messages that may be harmful to someone else or anything that breaks one of Jagex's rules). If you are unsure if the content breaks a rule, contact another user to check it out.
• ... to clear red links from the wanted pages list.
• ... if editors are given permission by the author to edit the page. This includes guestbooks and some sandboxes.
• ... to revert vandalism.

Yes, to solve errors you are allowed to edit other editor's pages as per RS:DEU (as part of maintenance). But in those cases you'd still nowiki the offending wikitext instead of just outright deleting it. With nowiki I mean enclosing the wikitext with:

<nowiki>some template or something causing the error(s)</nowiki>

Also if you want to link to categories (or even images) you need to add a colon (:) at the start of the link like: [[:Category:Pages with script errors]]. Another note underscores are not necessary for internal wikilinks. :)  Salix ^(Talk)  21:41, 8 November 2019 (UTC)

RE:Additionally...

I'd say ask Towelcat what they are doing with that page and if they could remove redlinks from it. It's not that bad to have pages appear in Special:WantedPages especially if those are pages that should be created, but if those pages aren't actually wanted (because they only exist in OSRS and not RS for instance) then I'd rather remove the offending redlinks (read nowiki them if in userspace or on talk pages in any namespace). Or for instance if a user wanted to link to Song of the Elves from Plague's End (see trivia), then correct the link so it links to the OSRS page as in this case it's relevant.  Salix ^(Talk)  21:41, 8 November 2019 (UTC)

Referencing

Hey, if ye're referencing from YouTube, use {{CiteGeneral}}. Also, if ye're using the same reference multiple times, use {{NamedRef}} with the "|name=" parameter filled in. So if the name parameter is "|name=Mattock", put {{NamedRef|Mattock}} in the other spots where it's being referenced. Also, article names within articles generally only need the first instance bolded, rather than every instance, as ye did on mattock Ciphrius Kane (talk) 09:31, 19 March 2020 (UTC)

Hey there, based on your edit to Template:Zodi-yak Track members' tasks showing a lower minimum level item and quantity (and assuming the stats displayed on your user profile are correct), I'm guessing you might have missed this note displayed above the table on the Zodi-yak Track page: The following table uses requirements (both the amount, and item required) as based on a maxed player. You think Jagex is gonna release stats on this?

When does it become official? How about another 6k drop rates. 12k more? How much do you want... In the wiki for 24hours now if you want to talk about it. Adding 6k drop rate for fiery brimstone shortly.

I would agree with showing those 2 as common and the rest as rare but atleast do a secondary sort not alphabetically...but by the level it takes to obtain them because it goes downhill in that patern

Slayer codex icons

Hey, I see that you're adding in the images from the slayer codex. I'm not sure these are necessary as we have the actual NPC images. The icons, however, are useful. Talk to Kelsey 11:20, 17 June 2020 (UTC)

Bad Exchange Rate

Did you manage to complete the Bad Exchange Rate achievement? It seems like all Tokkul goes to the currency pouch automatically and you can't take it out. Or is there a way?  Salix ^(Talk)  22:40, 25 October 2021 (UTC)

Re: Troves rate

I agree it looks a bit unintuitive and there was some confusion around this before the number per hour was confirmed, however it's important to note that once you upgrade the ring, only the latest tier rates apply while wearing it. Once you unlock tier 3 troves, tier 2 trove rates don't apply because you can't obtain tier 2 troves anymore. In this case making a separate column for each trove tier with their rates may be equally misleading, as only one drop rate is relevant per each ring tier. It would also require a colum for tier 1 troves rate, which only applies to one ring tier. We would end up with a lot of table cells filled with N/A. Mariobaryla (talk) 20:11, 6 November 2021 (UTC)

Duel Arena (historical)?

Why did you move Duel Arena to Duel Arena (historical)? That's only needed if it's replaced by content with an identical name like Rune Mysteries (historical) and Rune Mysteries. Since Duel Arena was replaced by Het's Oasis, this is not needed. Unless you have a good reason, I'll move it back after I get a reply from you.  Salix ^(Talk)  15:21, 4 January 2022 (UTC)

Melee Weapon Classification

Hey Chee! I saw you're changing up some of the images in the sidebar in some melee weapon pages, eg

• Longsword
• Scimitar
• Shortsword
• Dagger

I was wondering how to tell which class a weapon is? It's obvious for things like Adamant scimitar, but how do you know for eg Dark Shard of Leng? I was looking at some of the pages and it seems that the sidebar, and the table in the body of the article, don't always match. For example you have Dark Shard of Leng on Longsword sidebar, but it's in the body table of Scimitar. I apologize if I caught you in the middle of an edit spree, but in the event that you want me to make the changes to the body tables, I'd be more than happy to. Just let me know if you know where for sure certain weapons go and I can shuffle the tables around a bit.

Undid your changes to Vestments page regarding Berserk things

First time adding a topic to someone's user page so apologies if i mess it up. The section you added to Vestments page was causing some confusion over in PvME. It seems your math was a bit off and caused the whole section to be incorrect. Abilities can be used every 3 ticks (1.8s) which is a GCD so the rest of your elaboration was incorrect. I also didn't really thing it was necessary to list the number of extra abilities you can cast during the zerk since it's just the difference / 1.8s Rcm37 (talk) 21:00, 30 November 2022 (UTC)

Oh, I just noticed that the image links to the edit. I don't see why you'd see that as being rude, though. The point is that such comments could be added to almost every edit, and if we did that, sources of pages would get very messy. Edit summaries are the correct place for such comments, not source. Unwelcome Guests revert

The combat value (and relevant text) was intentionally reverted as well. The in-game quest list sorts the quest under the "None" heading when sorting by combat. Since this is actually incorrect and combat is required, it seems wrong to hide that discrepancy in a trivia section. MrDew (talk)User:MrDew 09:58, 13 April 2023 (UTC)

Revert without edit summary/expiation

It's rude to revert edits without leaving an edit summary. If you have an objection to an edit: You can explain your objection in the summary, or say "see talk" and explain your objection on the article's talk page, or something. But to revert an edit with no expiation: That doesn't come off as a fellow editor with concerns about the edit. That comes off as dismissive, as thinking that you own the article.

And even putting politeness aside: Let's say that my edit was wrong, that it made the article worse. How am I supposed to know what I did wrong, and why it was wrong, if you (the reverter) don't explian it to me? How am I supposed to avoid making such misguided edits in the future? I see you also maked your reverts as minor. On the edit page, if you hover over "minor edit", it says:

"A minor edit is one that requires no review, and could never be the subject of a dispute, for example fixing a typo".

CVU

There's no reason you can't comment and it probably is helpful to leave one if you're making a report. I believe the expectation is that admins will action the reports as the page was intended to be for block-worthy vandalism. Ideally the reports would be dealt with quickly - Gaz has added a notification for new CVU reports to be posted to Discord so hopefully there won't be so much of a delay in actioning them in the future! Graphical updates project

Hi! I wondered if you might be interested in helping with a project that I’ve set up? I’m aiming to get documentation completed for early graphical updates of items. This is easier than it sounds as the OldSchool RuneScape wiki already has the images and information that we need! So the project just involves checking item pages and copying over anything that is missing. There is a step by step guide here.
