Ancient artefacts

Not to be confused with Elder Artefacts or Ancient artefact.

Ancient artefacts are Third Age relics from the God Wars that players can obtain as drops from revenants in the Forinthry Dungeon or as a reward from opening a sack of very wild rewards. The artefacts can be sold to either Mandrith or his brother Nastroth for coins.

As revenants can only be found in the Wilderness, players are advised to opt out of PvP to remove the risk of player killers.

Trivia

• Before the return of the Wilderness, these artefacts were obtainable from killing players in a PvP or Bounty Hunter world, and Seren statuette and Ancient statuette were not available to free to play players. This was changed on 1 February 2011.
• Some artefacts are placed at the edge of the tile when dropped or received as a drop. For example, statuettes of all types, the ruby chalice, Saradomin statuette, Saradomin amphora, and Third age carafe are put into a corner of that tile. The Armadyl totem, Guthixian brazier, Zamorak medallion, Bandos scrimshaw, Ancient psaltry bridge, bronzed dragon claw, and broken statue headdress are put in the middle of the tile.
• All of the items are recorded in white text in the loot/drop section of RuneMetrics. White text indicates the drop, in a quantity of one, is less than 1,000 coins.
