The kitchen is a constructible building for Fort Forinthry. Constructing it requires partial completion of Murder on the Border, while upgrading the kitchen to tier 2 and 3 requires full completion of the quest. It provides benefits to Cooking training.

Portable ranges are the only portable skilling station that can be placed within the kitchen.[1]

Ironman Mode players can instead light a fire at the south entrance of the kitchen and cook on it, without exiting the kitchen, to gain benefit of both 5% increased experience from the facility and 10% increased experience from cooking on a bonfire.

The blueprint is started at the Fort Forinthry blueprints. This adds three Construction hotspots outside the Kitchen, with one of them optimal, which can be built to gain Construction experience. Finishing the first tier requires 240 base batches of progress, the second tier 396, and the third tier 700. These can be reduced by building at the optimal hotspots.

Trivia

[edit | edit source]
  • Before the kitchen is built, a cabbage dummy resides in the rubble to explain the benefits of the kitchen's tiers. The cabbage has the same appearance as Sister Cabbage from One Piercing Note.
  • The kitchen appears to be blessed by Brassica Prime,[2] and by tier 3 a non-interactable altar is constructed.
  • Rodney's Independent Trading Co. is a reference to classic 1980s (UK) TV Show "Only Fools and Horses" which features as main characters, Con man Del-boy Trotter and his brother Rodney, who run a company from the back of his 1972 Reliant Regal (a van version of the 3 wheeled Reliant Robin car). Their company was called "Trotter's Independent Trading".
