A giant crab is a pet players may obtain after reaching 40 Summoning and completing the Freeing Pirate Pete subquest of Recipe for Disaster. To receive a Baby Giant Crab, players must kill the Mogres at Mudskipper Point (32 Slayer and Mogre (Lore Activity) required), until they receive a Crunchy claw token, which is an uncommon drop. Then players wearing a diving apparatus and fishbowl helmet can go underwater at Port Khazard and talk to Nung. He will exchange a Baby Giant Crab for the Crunchy Claw Token.
The crab eats any type of raw fish, including barbarian fish. For every 5-15% hunger a Baby Giant Crab gains, it grows by 1%. It takes approximately 10 hours for it to become an adult.
The style of crab you receive is random from the five types below.

Trivia[edit | edit source]
- If you talk to the crab while wearing a Crab claw or Crab helmet, it will say that it has no weak point and that you can't hit it for massive damage, a reference to the Enemy Crab meme.
- 'I is going to eat you, little fishies!' May be a reference from the hit British TV Series Red Dwarf, where The Cat frequently said 'I'm gonna eat you, little fishies.'
- When you ask Murphy to go diving with your crab out, he says that it wouldn't react well to going underwater despite crabs being aquatic organisms. However, you are able to dive with a crab on a limited basis by letting it out immediately after obtaining it from Nung (while you are already diving).
