Empty troughs are pieces of scenery that can be built in the Owlery within the City of Um. During the Housing of Parliament quest, the player must create two empty troughs by using three nails on each pile of planks. Later the troughs must be turned into a water trough and food trough by using a bucket of water and snail with hourglass 'sprinkles' respectively.
