Bank preset
Bank presets are a feature of the bank of RuneScape that allow players to save and quickly load an inventory, equipment, and/or Beast of Burden layout. Presets can greatly reduce the time spent withdrawing and equipping items. They can be used for a variety of different applications, including bossing, slayer, skilling, and completing Treasure Trails. Presets are especially useful when training skills that can be done at a bank, or when doing any kind of repetitive task, such as cooking food, fletching logs, or mixing potions. They can be used in conjunction with portable skilling stations to quickly level up several skills.
Members can set up to 15 quick presets, while free-to-play players can set up to 7 presets. Presets can be saved from the bottom of the bank interface in the Presets tab by clicking on the cog icon. Presets can be loaded by either clicking on the numbered preset icons in the bank interface, or by using keystrokes (Presets 1 and 2 are bound to the keys 1 and 2, while the rest are bound to ctrl-<number>). Players can give their presets different names by using a drop-down list found in the Preset interface.
Using presets[edit | edit source]
Presets can be set to load any combination of inventory, equipment, and/or beast of burden. Presets are loaded by depositing everything from the location to be loaded into the bank and then withdrawing the requested items to the specified places. If an aura is active, it is excluded. If a stackable item is in the preset but not enough of that item is available, all the items are withdrawn and a placeholder is left behind. If an item could not be found (or not enough for stackable items), a chatbox message is displayed stating there was an issue with a list of all items that could not be found as additional, filtered messages.
Instructions[edit | edit source]
- Saving a preset
- Set up the inventory and/or equipped items as desired
- Open the presets interface via the bank
- Select the preset to replace
- Check either the inventory, worn equipment, and/or beast of burden
- Optionally, choose/change the preset name from the drop down menu
- Click the Overwrite button below
The preset is now saved and ready to load.

Alternatively, to quick-save a preset:
- In the presets tab within the bank interface, right-click the number corresponding to the preset that will be replaced.
- Click save.
(If this does not work just switch the tab from presets to Achievements and back and try again)
- Loading a preset
Presets can only be loaded at a bank.
- Open the bank interface.
- In the "Presets" area in the lower right side, click the desired number button.
Alternatively, to quickly load a preset via keystroke with the bank interface open (Note: This will close the bank interface):
- For presets 1 and 2, press 1 or 2.
- For presets 3 and above, press ctrl-<number> corresponding to the preset number.
Preset 5 can also be dragged onto preset 1 using the presets configuration interface, and then 1 could be used instead of ctrl-5.
Suggested uses[edit | edit source]
- A simple blank preset for inventory, equipment, and beast of burden as a one-button deposit everything function.
- A preset for commonly used combat equipment, possibly for each style
- A preset containing all additional equipment one may need for most Slayer tasks, e.g. runes for all elemental spells, runes for alchemy, charming imp/bonecrusher/other drop modifiers, summoning pouches, etc. One can then re-open the bank once loaded and deposit things not required for that specific task.
- A full loadout for a specific boss to enable quick banking when bossing (especially when combined with the PvM portal in the Max Guild).
- A skilling preset with ingredients, particularly for items with multiple ingredients like overloads. This is especially useful when combined with the action bar to initiate the skilling action if possible (i.e. open bank, press 1 to load preset, press 1 to open the Make-X interface, press space to confirm, wait, repeat). Note: Pressing 1 with a completed potion (such as a super ranging potion) on the action bar for the corresponding number will consume one dose of the potion instead of opening the Make-X interface. For this reason, using a portable may be preferable for making potions that require completed potions as ingredients.
Issues[edit | edit source]
- As presets have to deposit everything into the bank before withdrawing the required items, this can be an issue for very full banks. In some cases, presets are unusable.
- If there are multiple items of the same type with different invention perks on each of them, the preset is able to differentiate and pick out the item that was saved in the preset.
- Only the specific version of an item is saved, so if a 'used' degradable item is in a preset, when it is repaired to 'new', it won't be loaded by the preset.
Additional presets[edit | edit source]
Initially, players had access to 5 presets, plus one beast of burden preset. Additional presets could be temporarily rented using loyalty points, or permanently bought using bonds or RuneCoins.
An update on 25 January 2021 gave every player access to all 10 bank presets for free. Another update on 12 July 2021 added five additional presets, which gave every player 15 total presets.
Prior to the 25 January update, the costs of additional presets were as follows:
- Rental
Regardless of the package purchased, the cost for a preset slot is 571.43 loyalty points per day.
Time | Loyalty points |
---|---|
2 weeks | 8,000 |
4 weeks | 16,000 |
8 weeks | 32,000 |
16 weeks | 64,000 |
24 weeks | 96,000 |
32 weeks | 128,000 |
- Purchase
Permanently purchasing a preset slot costs 480 RuneCoins or 3 bonds. However, as bonds are worth 195 RuneCoins each, it is recommended to redeem the bonds for RuneCoins before purchasing a preset in order to save 105 RuneCoins. As part of the 2020 Summer Sale, presets were on discount for 240 RuneCoins.

- Added to game.
- Quick presets are an easy way to equip yourself with an oft-used loadout of gear, or with a backpack of essential items for a skilling run.
- Fill up your fill up your backpack and/or worn inventory with a setup you'd commonly use - gear up as if you were going on a Slayer task, for example, or if you were running to the anvil for some smithing. From there, you'll be able to save your current backpack, worn inventory - or both - as one of a number of presets. Then, you'll be able to reload that preset from any bank, by clicking the 'load' icon next to the preset's entry. You can even assign up to two of these as 'quick load' options, accessible right from the bank interface itself.
- In this way, it's easy to quickly gear up for an adventure, and your skilling will be smoother than ever.
- Members get five of these presets from the off, and free players two. If you find you need more, you can rent them for a limited time - or even purchase more - using either Bonds, Loyalty Points or RuneCoins directly from the interface – there’s no need to go to Solomon’s General Store.
- Added to game.
