Starting out
[edit | edit source]- Start off using the fairy ring code AKQ or a Phoenix Lair Teleport scroll. You can also use the teleport from the memory strand in the currency pouch. Alternatively, teleport to Eagles' Peak lodestone and run north then west.
- Run west of the Piscatoris Fishing Colony until you find a house.
- Cross the water eastward over the rocks and go east to search the Needle. (
) - Search the Needle to obtain the shard of the needle.
- After the cutscene investigate the body on the ground.
Chapter 1
[edit | edit source]- Commune with the shard.
- Enter the word fire.
- Go into the house to the north-west and interact/explore the fireplace.
- For full completion, find all of the other words listed on The Needle Skips#Chapter 1.
- Go back to where the Needle is on the hill to the south-east and enter the temporal portal. ( )
Chapter 2
[edit | edit source]- Commune with the shard again and enter the word birthday.
- For full completion, find all of the other words listed on The Needle Skips#Chapter 2.
- Descend the stairs to the east and go back to the Needle.
- Enter the temporal portal. ( )
Chapter 3
[edit | edit source]- Commune with the shard again and enter the word wenla.
- For full completion, find all of the other words listed on The Needle Skips#Chapter 3.
- Go back to the Needle and search it. ( )
The finale
[edit | edit source]- Run back towards the house and harvest the buckthorn bush near the river.
- Grind and crush both the leaf and berry.
- Go upstairs in the house and give Primrose the smelling salts ( ).
- Go back downstairs, search the bookcase to the north-east.
- Talk to Megan and name the demon 'Metum'. ( •)
- Use the bottle of crushed berries on the stove on the west side of the house.
- Return back to the Needle and use the buckthorn salve on Gail. Finish the dialogue and you will be teleported back to the house.
- Finish the dialogue with Megan and go back to the Needle and pick up the note from gail.
- Read the note then return to Megan inside the house.
- Quest complete!

- Discover all chapters to claim a medium lamp.
- For full completion, players can find all of the words in each chapter. After the quest is completed, players can replay chapters by searching the Needle (or the rubble that remains after Desperate Times). To get the large XP lamp you need to speak with Megan outside of the quest replays.
