Welcome!

[edit source]

Hey, Limxzero, and welcome to the RuneScape Wiki!

Thank you for having interest in our wiki. If you have any trouble or need help, feel free to ask questions on my talk page or any other editor's talk page. Also, you could look at a help page or you could shout out on the local forums. I hope you like it here and decide to stay! User:Frede173/:)

Here are a few pages to help out new editors such as yourself:

Please sign your name on talk pages by using four tildes (~~~~) or use the "sign" button () above the edit box. This will automatically produce your name and the date. Signing your comments is important, as it lets other editors know who has posted which comments.

Again, welcome!

Thanks for that, I wasn't really seeing that. ʞooɔ 12:32, November 20, 2010 (UTC)

Those pages were made to remove them from wanted pages, if necessary, they can be redirected or deleted in future. Thanks, 222 talk 06:16, December 4, 2010 (UTC)

Re:Talk:Chaotic crossbow

[edit source]

Ehhh.... And why post that? That YouTube video is completely irrelevant to the talk page's purpose. S T Y G 21:18, July 17, 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, but I don't think we can remove it. We have a policy (RS:DDD) that makes it so we can't delete it, however, it might be on the list of 'things we can delete'. S T Y G 21:32, July 17, 2011 (UTC)

Hello you looked like a good wiki person! I was wondering if you could teach me wiki coding! If so that would be great!Italic text

Choose/Option/random display

[edit source]

Hey (: Please don't add the choose/option code to mainspace articles like you did here. It makes the images appear unused and they might get deleted accidentally. Instead just make use of the galleries and things like that. I kept one chathead at the top and moved the other two into the gallery at the bottom of the page. sssSp7p.pngIjLCqFF.png 06:08, September 29, 2012 (UTC)

Reverting vandalism

[edit source]

Hey there Limxzero.

I notice that you've been reverting some vandalism lately, and that's very good. Smile However, you're not warning anyone on their talk pages. It's customary to place templates like {{subst:Test1}} ~~~~, {{subst:Warn2}} ~~~~ and {{subst:Warn3}} ~~~~ to go with the severity of the bad edit and the last warning they received on their talk page. With the policy of assuming good faith, Test1 and Warn2 are a little different: Test1 tells an editor that you reverted an edit they were experimenting with, and Warn2 is for outright vandalism. Warn2 follows Test1, though, so editors making test edits get 3 chances and vandals get 2.

For example, 210.0.215.20 should have 2 warnings by now.

Yeah, not only sysops (moderators) place user warnings here - it's a bit like Wikipedia, even though officially we're not like Wikipedia. For test edits, even with edit summaries explaining why a particularly badly-done test edit was undone, it's better to let the IP editor know with a big honking "You have new messages" bubble as well.  a proofreader ▸  06:03, October 8, 2012 (UTC)

The vandalism reverts

[edit source]

Hey Limxero. I see that you are reverting vandalism but not warning the user about it. Can you do so?

Here's a list of templates you can use for warnings:

{{subst:v|NAME}} ~~~~ (VANDALISM)
{{subst:warn3|NAME}} ~~~~ (BLOCK NOTICE)
{{subst:no vandal|NAME}} ~~~~ (IF BAD)
{{subst:noPP}} ~~~~ (PEOPLE USING IMAGE FOR PERSONNAL USE)
{{subst:Deu}} ~~~~ (EDITING USERPAGES THAT AREN'T THERES)
{{subst:DDD}} ~~~~ (DELETE THE CONTENTS OF TALK PAGES)
{{subst:Charm log 1|NAME}} ~~~~ (CHARM LOG VANDALISM)
{{subst:Charm log 2|NAME}} ~~~~ (I love this one better)
{{subst:Ownership}} ~~~~ (ADDING NAMES TO PAGES)
{{subst:rdt}} ~~~~ (RTD)

Thx, — Jr Mime (talk) 12:17, October 28, 2012

I don't think there are policies, but it is common sense. If a user vandalism, he should get a warning so he knows he did something bad. — Jr Mime (talk) 12:42, October 28, 2012 (UTC)

Panel update

[edit source]

Are you a nonmember? I'm personally seeing 'clans'. MolMan 16:27, October 29, 2012 (UTC)

I'm not exactly sure. My post to you was more of heads up, but I'll ask some others. MolMan 16:39, October 29, 2012 (UTC)
Changed it back to the members version and added a little blurb as to the changes on the page (which imo is a very lacking page that someone * wink * should expand). MolMan 16:44, October 29, 2012 (UTC)

Update pages

[edit source]

Hiya, when you make update pages, please don't copy/paste the title from the main page. They use a different apostrophe, and this can cause the page to not be searched for. So yes, you will have to manually type the title out :p. Thanks, Haidro 00:28, December 9, 2012 (UTC)

Not entirely sure, but to be on the safe side, just do a normal dash (-) (the button next to 0, not holding down any keys) Haidro 22:59, December 9, 2012 (UTC)

Just wanted to stop by and say you've done decent work around here; it hasn't gone unnoticed. Appreciate it and keep it up :) -- Recent uploads SpineTalkGuest book 00:41, December 29, 2012 (UTC)

Yew Logs Vandal

[edit source]

Do you think it's time to report IP: 173.206.171.225 for vandalizing the Yew Logs page? I think so. He or she has only made vandalizing contributions to the wiki and has done it twice now. (Cparks1000000 (talk) 05:18, December 30, 2012 (UTC))

I've nominated you for UOTM; If you don't want it feel free to withdraw but just know that declining this offer will make me sadface. MolMan 14:20, February 2, 2013 (UTC)

Cook did that. I remember reviewing the edit and just trusting it. Can't believe it took this long to notice he fucked it up. As for the patch notes in the switch parser, ask him. He probably has his reasons. MolMan 21:48, February 18, 2013 (UTC)

RE: Hiddden updates / patch notes

[edit source]

These patch notes, but do you mean that the items actually changed visually besides their inventory icon?  Salix (Talk)  10:20, January 12, 2016 (UTC)

No need to add it, it's added automatically, just needed to purge the Patch Notes page. It's there now. :)  Salix (Talk)  10:35, January 12, 2016 (UTC)

the Wikian title

[edit source]

Hello! Following the discussion at RuneScape:The Wikian, you have been granted the Wikian title! Please make arrangements with Gaz Lloyd to receive the title in game. If you could please add your in-game name to RuneScape:The Wikian/Users, it would be most appreciated. Thanks and congratulations! svco4bY.png3Gf5N2F.png 01:18, December 14, 2016 (UTC)

Hey! Just checking back through RuneScape:the Wikian/Users, and you don't appear to have claimed your title yet. Please contact me in-game (accounts Gaz Lloyd or Gaz L) or via RS:DISCORD to arrange a meetup so I can grant it :)  Gaz Lloyd 7:^]Events!99s 22:23, February 18, 2017 (UTC)

Wikia forking thread

[edit source]

Hey Limxzero! I wanted to give you a heads up that there's a thread (Forum:Leaving Wikia) up for discussion right now about moving this wiki (and OSRS wiki) away from Wikia, to a self-hosted, Jagex-supported site. We'd love your input on the proposal (and the new wikis). Thanks! IsobelTalk page 19:46, September 30, 2018 (UTC)

Do you have any old computers you played RuneScape on?

[edit source]

Hi Limxzero!

Recently we've been trying to recover lost versions of RuneScape that Jagex didn't save. We're asking anybody who played from 2001-2012 to check old computers, laptops, hard drives, or backups for old RuneScape files.

Your userpage says you've been playing since 2003, so it's very likely that you have one of the missing versions. It would be great if you could search any old devices you may have so that these older versions of RuneScape aren't lost forever.

If you have any questions, feel free to join our Discord which explains the project in full detail, and where people can help guide you through the search. Alternatively you can read our page on the Lost Media Wiki, and leave a message on my talk page.
