A damp tinderbox is a tinderbox which has been submerged in the water of the fifth level of the Abandoned Mine. It is also obtainable randomly by dropping a tinderbox during restoration of the Myreque Hideout during In Aid of the Myreque. This ruins the tinderbox's firemaking abilities and renders it useless. Glowing fungus must be used from that point onward.

This item is tradeable, but a hidden update in late 2008 removed the option to trade in the Grand Exchange.
