The fire altar is found in the Flamtaer temple in Mort'ton in its broken state and it is used in both the Shades of Mort'ton quest and minigame. When players completely repair the temple by reinforcing the temple walls, the altar becomes a Fire altar. Players with more than 10% sanctity may then light the altar to make the Flaming Fire altar.
Players can use the Flaming Fire altar to sanctify olive oil and create sacred oil. Sacred oil can be used on different types of logs to create the corresponding pyre logs.

- patch 14 July 2025 (Update):
- Various player experience fixes for the following quests, including moving critical path interactions to the left-click option and removing unnecessary random pass/fail stat checks. Shades of Mort'ton was affected.
- It is no longer possible to fail to light the fire altar.
