Duke Cole Augustus Hoarse was the Duke of Edgeville. During the Murder on the Border quest, he attended the royal banquet celebrating the construction of Fort Forinthry. Duke Hoarse was described as abrasive, perpetually grumpy and the bane of every noble in Misthalin.

Rodney was his fiancé, and Princess was his pet dog. When Duke Hoarse was murdered by poison during the banquet, the player aided in uncovering the truth that Bianca originally intended to poison King Roald, but Aster got the dishes mixed up.

He intended to pass his domain to Princess upon his death, but as a dog cannot legally rule, it passed to his younger sister.
