Zygomite (player-owned farm)
Zygomites are livestock that can be raised and bred at Manor Farm once unlocked at level 81 Farming. They can be kept in medium pens, which can be built at level 40 Construction, or the breeding pen, which can be built at level 55 Construction. Medium pens and breeding pens have capacities of four animals each. They can be obtained harvesting morchella, bittercap, and Arc mushroom, or Mort Myre fungus. They can also be obtained from the Accidental Fletching and Firemaking Zygmoite Carestyling activity.
Upon clicking to check but before hitting the confirmation box, eggs will convert to Gloomshroom zygomites. In total, there are five different breeds, including the shiny magical zygomite. Being the highest-level animals that can be placed in the medium pen, they award both the highest amount of Farming experience and beans when harvested or sold.
Like all farm animals, they may have up to three traits, which determine their selling price in beans to buyers, among other effects, and can be sold on the Grand Exchange in their unchecked form. Once they have been checked, however, they may only be traded directly between players or sold to Zoe, the Zygomite trader. Eight (16 with Master Farmer rank in Farming reputation) can be sold every two days.
Zygomites can only be fed with mushrooms.
Perks[edit | edit source]
Like other animals purchased on the Farmers' Market, zygomites have a perk. They give a 7% chance to yield an additional mushroom when gathering them from patches, clusters, or bloomed logs. This chance can be increased to 10% if the player has two pens with at least one elder zygomite.
The "Uncapped Potential" perk can only be used if the player has a farm totem placed in the pen. To achieve maximum potential the player needs two farm totem and two elder zygomite (any breed).
Zygomite breeds[edit | edit source]
There are five zygomite breeds in the breeding log.
When breeding zygomites, only some of the main breeds are available:
- Gloomshroom zygomite parents can have gloomshroom, zanarian, and arcspore offspring
- Zanarian, arcspore, and daemoncap zygomite parents can have zanarian, arcspore, and daemoncap offspring
- Any of the 4 breeds can be shiny
Thus, in order to be able to get all 4 breeds, one will need to either breed gloomshrooms to get a gloomshroom, or use a mixed pair of zygomites (a gloomshroom and a not-gloomshroom).
