The Wilderness (level 35) hobgoblin mine, also known as the Hobgoblin Mine, is a mining site found in the Wilderness from levels 45 to 50. The mine is occupied by a large number of aggressive, level-28 hobgoblins, from whom the mine gets its nickname.

Hobgoblins will tend to attack players mining there. Since the mine is higher than level 20 Wilderness, players cannot teleport out.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • When Bounty Hunter was introduced this mine was moved 4 levels deeper into the wilderness. Before this mine was moved the teleportation problem could be solved by carrying an amulet of glory which can teleport up to level 30 Wilderness, however the amulet is for members only.
  • Prior to the Mining & Smithing rework, this mine contained 16 iron, 22 coal, mithril and 8 adamantite rocks. It had the most mithril and adamantite rocks for free players, surpassing all other locations.
  • It is possible to stand in the North-east corner of the area to mine in mostly peace from the Hobgoblins. You can use the one of the necrite rocks and a rockpile to block the Hobgoblins from being able to attack you.
