A vital spark is an item that can be obtained from killing the inhabitants of the Sophanem Slayer Dungeon. Players do not have to be on a slayer task to obtain this drop; however, when on a relevant slayer task, they will drop two at a time.
Additionally, players may purchase vital spark drop enhancers from Bryll Thoksdottir at the Elite Dungeon Reward Shop for 1,000 Dungeoneering tokens. It increases the amount of vital sparks obtained from killing enemies by one, consuming the enhancer when a drop is received. Drop enhancers stack additively with the vital spark bonus from killing creatures on task. Players may also opt to disable the chest collection feature or fill their chest completely with other drops to make use of the dungeons 20% chance to double a drop, which leads to a maximum possible drop of 6 vital sparks from a single monster.
Historically, vital sparks were used to create one of three different sigils. However, the sigil slot was removed from the game in the 19 August 2019 game update, and these sigils were replaced with the ability codices listed below.
Codices[edit | edit source]
2,000 vital sparks can be combined into any one of the following ability codices:
- Golden Touch ability codex: Golden Touch - All drops under the player's lootbeam value will be high-alched.
- Limitless ability codex: Limitless - No longer required to reach 50% adrenaline before using threshold abilities.
- Unsullied ability codex: Unsullied - Maintains the player's corruption damage buff and prevents the monsters from taking advantage of the player's corruption status.
Based on the GE prices of vital sparks, each ability costs 354,876,000 to unlock.
