A male player wearing a full set of vestments

Vestments of havoc are a set of melee power armour that requires level 95 Defence to wear. They were first shown on 25 June 2022[1] and released into the game on 4 July 2022. Vestment pieces are obtained as rare drops from Zamorak, Lord of Chaos, the boss of the fourth Elite Dungeon, The Zamorakian Undercity. It is the first tier 95 armour set.

While classified as tier 95 armour, the set itself has mixed stats; tier 100 damage bonus, but an armour bonus in line with tier 75 power armour.[2]

Unlike most high-level armours, the vestments of havoc do not degrade. The robe top and bottom can both be augmented, however they will drain divine charges from the charge pack at the rate of tier 95 armour pieces when used.

Set effect[edit | edit source]

The armour has a set effect called Herald of Chaos which provides multiple bonuses depending on how many pieces of the armour set are worn, requiring at least two pieces to gain the first effect:

  • 2 pieces - After casting a melee ultimate ability, regenerate 15% adrenaline over 18 seconds. If another ultimate ability is cast while this effect is already active, instead regenerate 20% adrenaline instantly and immediately end the regeneration effect.
    • Note that this effect only triggers when using Attack or Strength ultimate abilities; Defence and Constitution ultimate abilities will not trigger the effect.
    • Natural Instinct has no effect on the adrenaline regeneration rate, nor does it affect the 20% instant adrenaline gain when using an ultimate ability during the effect.
    • The 20% adrenaline gain after using an ultimate ability stacks with other adrenaline-saving effects, including the ring of vigour, Conservation of Energy relic, and Invigorate auras.
    • Using a second ultimate while the effect is active will remove the status, regardless of how much time is remaining. For maximum adrenaline gain, the second ultimate should be used exactly 18 seconds, or 10 global cooldowns, after the first ultimate. This gives 14.5% adrenaline from the effect and 20% adrenaline from the instant gain.
  • 3 pieces - The duration of Berserk is extended by six seconds, increasing its duration from 20.4 seconds to 26.4 seconds.
  • 4 pieces - The player's maximum adrenaline is increased by 20% (up to 120%).
    • This effect stacks with the Heightened Senses relic power, allowing up to 130% adrenaline to be maintained at a given time.
    • Unequipping any of the armour pieces while the player has some adrenaline within the +20% increased adrenaline cap from the set effect will cause the extra adrenaline to be lost immediately.

The vestments of havoc are essentially a "glass cannon" armour set, meant to allow the user to inflict large amounts of damage, but are incapable of protecting well against monsters that likewise deal heavy damage to players. It is most effective against monsters where the damage taken can be easily healed back or mitigated by other means, or against monsters with very accurate attacks where having a higher armour value wouldn't help to block hits. However, augmenting the robe top and bottom and adding defensive perks such as Enhanced Devoted and Crystal Shield can help improve overall survivability.

The three-piece effect offers the most value for the set. It allows for more abilities to be used in the adrenaline regeneration time frame. However, the player will need to be wary of taking increased damage, since they won't be able to mitigate it, which is a benefit Trimmed masterwork armour would provide. If using the vestments' set effect, it is highly recommended to wear the boots with the top and bottoms to enable use of the Jaws of the Abyss headgear, which is a large source of adrenaline for melee users.

Update history[edit | edit source]

This information has been compiled as part of the update history project. Some updates may not be included - see here for how to help out!
  • ninja 18 July 2022 (Update):
    • When wearing the vestments of havoc armour set, the buff icon for the Berserk ability will now correctly last for 26 seconds, rather than 20 seconds.
    • Fixed an issue where wearing the vestments of havoc armour would show the incorrect amount of player adrenaline when a piece of the outfit was removed.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • The robe top, robe bottom and boots are a retextured version from the Tithe Collector's Robes cosmetic override outfit, while the mask is a retextured version of the Zamorakian Cultist mask.
  • Although the armour was originally stated to have damage bonuses equivalent to tier 100 power armour, the actual damage bonuses of the armour place them closer to tier 112 rather than tier 100.
  • The vestments of havoc set not only has the highest tier of armour in the game at tier 95, but it is also the strongest non-degrading armour in the game as well in terms of tier and damage bonus.
