The Varrock achievements are a group of Area Tasks subcategories relating to northern Misthalin. These subcategories are: Easy Varrock, Medium Varrock, Hard Varrock, and Elite Varrock.
The NPCs for the easy, medium, hard, and elite subcategories are indicated by a icon on the minimap and the world map. These are Rat Burgiss found down the road south of Varrock, Reldo in the Varrock Palace Library, and Vannaka in the ruins south of the Edgeville bank, respectively.
The rewards for this set of subcategories include the Varrock armour and experience lamps giving a total of 166,000 experience in skills. A player must obtain each Varrock armour in chronological order (e.g. medium achievements must be completed before the reward for hard achievements is available).
If the armour is lost, it can be retrieved from the NPC who gave the player the armour; Rat Burgiss for the Varrock armour 1, Reldo for the Varrock armour 2, and Vannaka for the Varrock armour 3 and 4.
This set of achievement subcategories is required for the Task Master achievement of the completionist cape.
Completing all achievements in this set of subcategories gives a total of 725 RuneScore.
There are 4 achievements in this group.

19 | Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! | No | Get a cat training medal from Gertrude. | Get a cat training medal from Gertrude.
The player's character will say when their cat catches 100 rats. While hunting, you will receive a chat dialogue indicating progress upon the 10th, 25th, 50th, 75th, and 100th rat caught. After this talk to Gertrude to get the medal. It is suggested to catch the rats in Brian's Archery Supplies in Rimmington as there are many rats to be found here; another location is Varrock Sewers, but this location is notably slower. Alternatively, if Recipe for Disaster: Freeing Evil Dave is completed, hell-rats in his basement in Edgeville can be used for this achievement, allowing the player to stock up on spices for stat-boosting stews at the same time. Catching rats with a kitten is significantly slower than a grown cat. It is recommended to use a wily cat as it has the highest catch rate. Note that obtaining a new kitten will reset the current rat kill counter, so ensure to claim the medal prior to retrieving a new kitten. Also, training your overgrown cat into a wily cat will reset the counter to zero. | 10 | |

Trivia[edit | edit source]
- The Varrock achievements were the second group of achievements released.
- When the Defender of Varrock quest was released, the Kudos requirement remained at 153 instead of the new total.
- From sometime no later than 13 May 2009, until the 19 May 2009 update, the Ancients Home Teleport did not register, making it impossible to complete the achievements.
- The rewards formerly included better prices when buying and selling from Varrock stores, but this was replaced with a higher chance at receiving skull sceptre parts on 2 September 2009 along with the Personalised Shops update.
- The jingle for completing a hard achievement sounds quite similar to that for scoring in Gnome Ball.
