VIP skilling area

The VIP area

The VIP skilling area is a small section of the Imperial district within Menaphos. It is unlocked and accessible at Tier 7 overall reputation.

Attempting to go through the VIP archway before reaching the required reputation makes a VIP area guard stop the player and say: "Where do you think you're going? You're not allowed in here!"

Skilling

The area contains four acadia trees; three mineral deposits; three fishing spots (for desert sole, catfish, and beltfish); and a bank chest. The resources in this area deplete at half the rate of outside resources. For Acadia trees, this means that each tree produces twice the amount of logs. The mineral deposits do not collapse, and the fishing spots move half as often. All tier 8 skilling success rate increases work in the VIP area.

Menaphos journal

The skilling locations can be used to discover certain items and creatures required for the Menaphos journal. Some of which are exclusively found in the VIP area. These discoveries are needed to complete Cats of Menaphos, Jewels of the Elid, and Insects of the Desert achievements. This would allow players to make significant progress towards obtaining the Sandy (title).

Exclusive

• Hornless unicornfly: Found whilst woodcutting in the VIP skilling area.
• Phenakite: Found while mining in the VIP skilling area.
• Anukat can be found standing north-west of the bank chest.

Non-exclusive

• Woodcutting Acadia trees: Desert locust, Kalphite wanderer
• Mining: Menaphite honey bee in amber, Pygmy giant scarab in amber, Crondite, Umesco arpos
• Fishing: Clicker kalphite in amber, Desert locust in amber, Wavecrest opal, Maw coral

• ninja 14 December 2020 (Update):
  • To account for the 'Bait and Switch' Relic's effect, the separate 'Deposit all' options for different fish have been consolidated to one option in the Deep Sea Fishing Hub and the VIP skilling area and Port Banks and Bank deposit box.
    • The Fishing Hub now also has these options on the Bank boat and rowboat, as well as the magical nets.

• ninja 9 November 2020 (Update):
  • The Deposit and Bank Boxes in the Menaphos VIP and Port area now allow you to 'Deposit all' fish, just as you would in the Deep Sea Fishing hub.

• ninja 23 October 2017 (Update):
  • The Fishing spots inside the Menaphos VIP area have been moved closer together and will now only spawn on the west side of the pool.
  • A Fish Flingers fisherman has arrived in the Menaphos VIP area.
