Hello, Zezzima, and welcome to the RuneScape Wiki!

Thank you for your past contributions and taking an interest in our wiki. If you have any trouble or need help, feel free to ask questions on my talk page or any other editor's talk page. Also, you could look at a help page or you could shout out on the local forums. We hope you like it here and decide to stay!

Here are a few pages to help out new editors such as yourself:

Please sign your name on talk pages by using four tildes (~~~~) or use the "sign" button (Signature button.png) above the edit box. This will automatically produce your name and the date. Signing your comments is important, as it lets other editors know who has posted which comments.

Yes, really. --Supirion1 23:19, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

Just thought I should add that admins (i.e. sysops) can moderate the forums - block and warn users, and lock and delete posts. Forum admins can do all this and make stickies, global anouncements and polls, but of course can't do any of the other things a sysop can do, unless they are already an admin (like Dtm already is a sysop, 'crat and a forum admin). Thanks, Quest.png Gaz Lloyd 7:^]Events!99s 15:39, 17 May 2009 (UTC)

A bureaucrat is a user who has all the abilities of a sysop, and can assign user rights - i.e. make users rollbacks, sysops and bureaucrats, and can remove those rights (except bureaucrat, only wikia staff can remove that). Also bureaucrats are the only users who can close RfAs, RfBs and RfFs (though thats not really a technical thing, its only because they can act on it). We don't have many bureaucrats as we don't need them - 3 are active (Azaz, Dtm and Dr5ag2on1 (Vimescarrot is semi-active, more often in the CC ingame than on the wiki)) out of 8 total for the RS wiki (Wikipedia has 31 bureaucrats total). The wiki's founder was Merovingian, though he's not active anymore. Hope that helps Quest.png Gaz Lloyd 7:^]Events!99s 16:53, 17 May 2009 (UTC)

Good faith ?[edit source]

Regarding 94.196.221.8, should you not first assume good faith and use {{Subst:Gemw1}} for a first cause of possible vandalism, instead of leaving an aggressive message on his talkpage ? For all we know, with a little bit of constructive critism he could make an account and become a great editor. Karis Talk to me 16:16, 17 May 2009 (UTC)

It basically tells them nicely to follow the instructions at the top of the page, if they continue vandalising you can either report them to the Counter vandalism team to deal with or add {{Subst:Gemw2}} or {{Subst:No Vandal}} to their page, which tells them the following ;

{{Subst:Gemw2}}

Vandalism[edit source]

Hello, Zezzima, it appears that you have been vandalising the RuneScape Wiki. Vandalism includes:

  • Adding offensive comments to pages.
  • Removing or blanking content from pages or templates.
  • Adding nonsense to articles or creating nonsense pages.
  • Purposefully adding incorrect information to articles.
  • Attacking another user.
  • Advertising outside websites.
  • Breaking or encouraging others to break Jagex's game rules.
  • Continually breaking RuneScape Wiki policies.

If you have been or are doing this, please stop and try to make useful contributions or you will be blocked. If you have already been blocked and you feel that the block was unfair, please contact a sysop by leaving a message on your talk page. A sysop will read your appeal and make a decision.

If you were blocked, you are more than welcome to return after your block expires and make helpful contributions. Thank you.

Re: Stop Changing[edit source]

I know that sabotages is the plural form, but the problem is that sabotage doesn't refer to a person committing it, while saboteur does. I discussed it on Soul Wars' discussion page already, and I thought it was cleared up, as it was concluded that saboteurs was the correct term. So if you don't mind, can I change it back? :P

Re: Please don't corrupt pages[edit source]

Sorry about that. I use a spell check thing that underlines words that it does not recognise. I just search for an American spelt word and change it on all the pages. Still, on the flip side, I have spell checked hundreds of pages and changed possibly over a thousand words and I have only ever made 1 mistake. That is a good success percentage Unicorn horn dust.png Evil Yanks talk

Serious Concerns[edit source]

Hello Zezzima, there are some concerns related to your connections with the accounts Try Combat and Noob4lyfe. Both of these accounts have either made their first or second edit to Lumbridge's Article of the Month nomination. I've performed a check user on your account and the Try Combat and Noob4lyfe accounts. The result of this check has shown that each of these accounts (including yours) are in the Sunnyvale, California area. Basically indicating sockpuppeting and gaming the system toward Lumbridge's nomination. Now, is there something you would like to tell me? (I'm all ears...)--

vandals[edit source]

Hey,you do well at reporting vandals. I do have a small sugggestion for you. If it is the first offense, and you warned them on their talk page, you do not need to report it to the CVU. Most vandals will not repeat (yes, most, not all, I know) especially after being warned. Also, if someone else has warned them already, you do not need to do so again. Whther it be the nice template or just a sentemce or two, one warning is enough. Thanks man, good stuff you do. --Degenret01 21:56, 14 June 2009 (UTC)

You think they dont read edit summaries? Well, for the most part I bet they do not. But I am sure some of them see the summaries some of the time. And when you bait them, you asking them to com back and do more. [Here], this is a great little article.--Degenret01 02:35, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

Regarding AotM[edit source]

Your behaviour on the AotM nominations is quite unnacceptable (especially here and here). Please remember that judging AotM has nothing to do with the nominator nor with what the actual thing is like in-game.

Also, your comments towards Hess36 is very impolite, bordering on offensive. Please do not become offensive towards other users, per the User treatment policy.

I feel that you should refrain from voting on or nominating an article for AotM, at least until August (i.e. September's nominations), as you get very defensive (almost abusive) of your nomination when there really is no need for it, and also due to your recent meat puppetry. A month to 'cool off', as it were. Quest.png Gaz Lloyd 7:^]Events!99s 20:11, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

User page edits.by an IP[edit source]

Zezz, you have to take time and actually look at the edit man. This is something that is critical to Assuming Good Faith. We have lots of user page edits done on a daily basis by a user that forgot to log on. If it is not evident vandalism, do not revert it. Tell the IP to sign on if they are that actual user. If you had looked at the actual edit, and the history of IP 66.59.103.158 you would see they have edited that page correctly before, and never vandalized. Don't be trigger happy. Thanks.--Degenret01 00:01, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

If it is not obvious vandalism, leave it. It doesn't hurt anything. And you do not owe me an apology, you didn't do anything to me.--Degenret01 04:36, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

AOTM[edit source]

I get the feeling that you don't see the point of Article of the month. It is for showcasing a high quality article every month

Articles of the Month (AOTM) or Featured articles are articles that are so good that they should be featured on the Main Page.

The AOTM should have nothing to do with what it is written about, with instead the votes based purely on how well the article is written. Take Hazelmere, Stone circle or History of Varrock from this year as an example. They all have very little significance in-game yet they were Article of the month purely because of how well they are written. Unicorn horn dust.png Evil Yanks talk 01:40, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

I agree, Lucien is a well written article and worthy of being AOTM. I just think that Battle of the Archipelago is more worthy. I am not trying to convert you to vote for Battle, I just thought it was a bit balmy to oppose an article because you have not heard of it before or because it is not about a location or NPC.Unicorn horn dust.png Evil Yanks talk 01:13, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

Subst:-ing[edit source]

Hi. When placing vandalism notices on pages, you should use the subst: function to place the content of the template on the page permanently. For example: rather than {{Subst:Gemw2}} you should place {{subst:Gemw2}}. This also applies to placing welcome notices. Thanks, Quest.png Gaz Lloyd 7:^]Events!99s 17:57, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

Subst-ing puts the full code on the page, not just the template. If you use subst in a welcome notice, it will feel more personal to the user welcomed. (Not in a bad way). Lovely torso armourSupirion1Talk Contribs #Summoning.png 00:57, 19 July 2009 (UTC)
