RE:Children of Mah[edit source]

I wasn't sure if that text was literally from the transcript, it sounded weird. But I'll remove the Fact template since it's literally from the dialogue in-game which doesn't require a source per-sé. Tip[edit source]

You're doing great work, keep it up. I will say one thing though; when you're adding links to a page, there's no need to pipe them to make the word lowercase (e.g. minimap). Just typing the link in lowercase is enough (e.g. minimap, it will take you to the right place. Capitalisation like that is only important with file links. If you use simple plurals at any point as well, you can just add the s/es outside of the link brackets and the page will parse them as part of the link.

Thank you for editing the wiki. Small recharge gem.png AnselaJonla Slayer-icon.png 08:47, February 12, 2017 (UTC)

Bamboo merchants[edit source]

Hey, the bamboo merchant page is a disambiguation, and we generally try tae avoid linking tae disambiguations where possible and should be orphaned. (Source) As such I've removed the links on those articles. Otherwise keep up the good work What I've done Ciphrius Kane Talk 22:15, February 14, 2017 (UTC)

Please read this. It explains why disambigs are an exception. The only reason why they are in that place is cause there is nae way tae have disambigs automatically excluded What I've done Ciphrius Kane Talk 23:03, February 14, 2017 (UTC)

RE:Abilities[edit source]

Hi Wynn Andye, the table on Abilities is generated with DPL based on the values from the ability pages, so I checked and on Flurry itself inside the Infobox Ability the following was entered: |members = No, where it should've been 'yes'. So in this case only Flurry needed to be edited. Farming-icon.png Salix of Prifddinas (Talk) Prifddinas lodestone icon.png 23:14, March 5, 2017 (UTC)

RE:Deadliest Catch[edit source]

Hi, I didn't remove it, I just moved it to the relevant article: Thalassus. Did I forgot to add that to the summary? Woops. Farming-icon.png Salix of Prifddinas (Talk) Prifddinas lodestone icon.png 08:05, March 17, 2017 (UTC)

RE:Transcript - TokTz-Ket-Dill[edit source]

If you haven't closed the tab of your internet browser yet, then you can press "back" and overwrite my edits. For future reference it's common to use Under Construction at the top of a page to notify other editors that you're working on the article. This however is not a guarantee that no one edits it, but I will look before doing any edits. Farming-icon.png Salix of Prifddinas (Talk) Prifddinas lodestone icon.png 10:28, April 26, 2017 (UTC)

I actually checked how recent your last edit was (was several hours), so I thought it was safe to edit it, not knowing you were working on it for those hours... :( Farming-icon.png Salix of Prifddinas (Talk) Prifddinas lodestone icon.png 00:35, April 27, 2017 (UTC)

Jack of Spades Quest[edit source]

Hi! Good work so far. I am not deleting anything; merely rewriting parts and reorganising stuff. In case of conflicts, at least when using the source editor Wikia gives you the options to save your work and re-edit later. By the way, editing sections instead of whole page greatly reduces the chances of conflicts. Thingummywut (talk) 18:04, June 5, 2017 (UTC)

Yeah, it happens to all of us some times. After doing it often enough, you'll learn to keep backups in notepad or something :) Thingummywut (talk) 18:14, June 5, 2017 (UTC)

Linking on transcripts[edit source]

I don't think it's necessary to link on transcripts within the text itself, but I'm not totally against it. Anyway, you can lowercase the first letter of a link, it'll automatically link to the correct page. Farming-icon.png Salix of Prifddinas (Talk) Prifddinas lodestone icon.png 21:02, June 5, 2017 (UTC)

I'm refering to Transcript:The Jack of Spades where I noticed that there are links in the transcript text, while I normally don't see them on other transcripts. Perhaps I just never noticed that, because I just saw on some other transcript that that one has links. Just ignore this message. :P Farming-icon.png Salix of Prifddinas (Talk) Prifddinas lodestone icon.png 21:15, June 5, 2017 (UTC)

Wikian title[edit source]

Hi, I'd like to nominate you for the wikian title as I noticed you have been dedicating a lot of time to completing the wiki's transcripts. Please let me know if you'd like me to nominate you for the title; you can also self-nominate if your prefer. Thanks for your edits, Magic logs detail.pngIsobelJTalk page 19:05, June 7, 2017 (UTC)

Done, you can add any other rsns you like. Thanks again for your edits :) Magic logs detail.pngIsobelJTalk page 16:15, June 8, 2017 (UTC)

Transcipts: Player-specific text[edit source]

I'm not an expert on transcripts but I believe that it is just Player without brackets as in Transcript:Brundt the Chieftain. For editing help we have editing guides, but for questions you're probably best off asking in discord. Magic logs detail.pngIsobelJTalk page 16:01, June 9, 2017 (UTC)

Re: Mod Wolf[edit source]

No problem, and thanks for fixing other instances. Omitting the name of the parameter tends to break the entire thing, unfortunately. I removed the smiley because it didn't add to his quote and wasn't very encyclopaedic, just like hashtags and other "twitter slang", for lack of better word. The Wikian Title[edit source]

Hi Wynn Andye, your request for the Wikian title was successful. Please contact Gaz Lloyd on his talk page, in the wiki Discord channel, or in-game (RSN: Gaz_Lloyd) so that he may give you the title. Sincerely, --LiquidTalk 03:27, June 15, 2017 (UTC)

Regarding Transcript:Crocodile Tears[edit source]

Somehow, compiling the dialogues where you whisper a lot together makes it seems a bit weird, and sometimes hard to know where you actually stop whispering... Are transcripts intended like that? :/ And also... regarding the amounts that Crondis asks for... they can change in her dialogue depending on how many you have already delivered... Are we not supposed to include that? The dialogue won't say you're still missing 4 pyramid tops, for example, if you have delivered two of them so far. DeKaitlyn (talk) 03:17, June 17, 2017 (UTC)

Ahh... True. And yea, the "no" dialogues were indeed confusing, I had initially added them just to be thorough, but couldn't find a way to make them make more sense. Regarding the amounts though, is there a guideline for "placeholder" text that could describe varying amounts of the item required? DeKaitlyn (talk) 03:24, June 17, 2017 (UTC)
Will keep that in mind regarding placeholder texts in the future :)
I have unfortunately not encountered the dialogue(s) myself where you give Crondis an amount less than what she requested of you, as I'm one of those that try to get everything in one go so I don't take as long. I'm happy to help with dialogues. And no, thank you for tidying up my amateurish transcript format styling >.< Fishing cape.png Kate the HuntressQuest.png Nothing interesting happened. 09:38, June 17, 2017 (UTC)

Summoning pouches[edit source]

Hey, stop! Don't do any more!

This and all similar edits are incorrect. Please stop replacing the examine text with the tooltips. They are not the same, and nor are they interchangeable. The examine text still exists and does not include the tooltip text.

I am not talking out of my arse, btw. I did check this in game before leaving this message. Small recharge gem.png AnselaJonla Slayer-icon.png 22:46, June 27, 2017 (UTC)

Double spacing?[edit source]

I noticed you added double spacing in the transcripts for the Menaphos Library books, but I'm not sure why? On the page itself it still appears as one space, and in the code it has two spaces, which I consider unnecessary, but possibly you have a good reason for it? Farming-icon.png Salix of Prifddinas (Talk) Prifddinas lodestone icon.png 13:24, July 4, 2017 (UTC)

I got both messages. :P I only created the ones that didn't exist yet, but it is possible I edited an existing one. I do understand why that other editor added double spacing between sentences, since that's also in the books in-game, but on the wiki it's apparently replaced by a single space when displayed, but the code will still have double which is kinda useless if it's not displayed as such. :P Thanks for removing it! :) Farming-icon.png Salix of Prifddinas (Talk) Prifddinas lodestone icon.png 07:47, July 5, 2017 (UTC)
I've found the reason, Wikia always replaces multiple spaces by a single one according to this. Farming-icon.png Salix of Prifddinas (Talk) Prifddinas lodestone icon.png 07:56, July 5, 2017 (UTC)
Nah, it's not that essential imo, but if you want to add it, then go ahead. :P Farming-icon.png Salix of Prifddinas (Talk) Prifddinas lodestone icon.png 06:55, July 6, 2017 (UTC)

Our Man in the North transcript[edit source]

Hey! :) I don't know if you're still working on the Our Man in the North transcript, so to prevent a unnecessary edit conflict/loss of your additions, I wanted to tell you that I noticed the usage of American English, while the wiki prefers British English. I'm specifically talking about this edit where you added the word 'materialize' where as in British English it would be 'materialise' with an 's'. Could you change this? Farming-icon.png Salix of Prifddinas (Talk) Prifddinas lodestone icon.png 23:15, July 24, 2017 (UTC)

Our Man in the North typo?[edit source]

Is this a typo? Farming-icon.png Salix of Prifddinas (Talk) Prifddinas lodestone icon.png 21:37, August 13, 2017 (UTC)

That's why I asked you first, before doing anything. :P Thanks for clarifying that. :) Farming-icon.png Salix of Prifddinas (Talk) Prifddinas lodestone icon.png 09:28, August 14, 2017 (UTC)

Re: Perks - Link to table[edit source]

This was the extent of our Discord conversation:

[10:18 PM] Wynn Andye: how do i make a link from one section of a page to another? - can't remember
[10:33 PM] Iiii_I_I_I: you do page name#section name

There was no mention of where or how you would use the link and I didn't look at your edits in RecentChanges at the time, so I didn't notice your addition to Perks.

I removed the link because it goes against our style of writing; articles should read like an entry you'd see in a real-life encyclopedia, the most basic requirement of which is writing in complete sentences. We try to avoid out-of-universe/self-referential comments like "click here to [X]" – you need to integrate the link and ensure the sentence flows smoothly by using pipes to cover up section links (e.g. Elite Karamja Tasks). If you look at other pages on the wiki you'll notice we never show links with the # sign to the end user in body paragraphs.

I also don't see how the table is "difficult to find" when it is the second section on the page (out of two) and makes up 75% of the page's content. There's nothing wrong with making information easier to locate, but a link tacked on to the end of a paragraph, especially when it is there without adequate explanation, does not increase visibility or ease of access. Users don't read paragraphs in reverse – with how it is right now, they would have to have read two paragraphs fully to realize the link is there. I would expect most people just scroll down and read the section headers if the content they're looking for is clearly not in the introduction.

A better solution here would be to use the table of contents. Since it doesn't show unless there are three or more sections on a page, you need to force it to appear by using ToC which I've done here. --Iiii I I I 01:55, December 6, 2017 (UTC)

RE:Nomad's Elegy Quest Guide[edit source]

Hi Wynn, you can edit the quest requirements here, although watch out with the syntax, e.g. apostrophes (') need to be escaped with a backslash and quests don't need to be linked unless they're not included in the list itself. Since the list already links the quests on it. I've already linked the Camelot training room for you, as I'm assuming that's the req that wasn't linked that you were referring to? But not all words need to be linked, like "Completed Soul Wars tutorial" doesn't need to be completely linked. Linking to Soul Wars suffices (unless you are not referring to that particulair req). Please let me know if I can be of any help. :) Farming-icon.png Salix of Prifddinas (Talk) Prifddinas lodestone icon.png 21:33, January 29, 2018 (UTC)

RE:Edit to Hunter cape perk[edit source]

Hi Wynn Andye, you can edit all the cape perks at Template:Skill cape perks. Afterwards the Hunter cape page should be updated as well, if it's not updated then just null edit that page, which means that you open the editor and save it without changing anything. RE:Action Bar Rework[edit source]

No problem :) Seems like there was just a lot of different opinions on how it should be handled. I'll make some changes to the page and hopefully it will resolve everyone's concerns. Pernix cowl detail.png MAGE-KIL-R (Talk)Zaros symbol.png 11:08, April 23, 2018 (UTC)

RE:Morytania achievements rework[edit source]

Sure, go ahead. It's always better to explain stuff so readers don't have to guess/assume. :) Farming-icon.png Salix of Prifddinas (Talk) Prifddinas lodestone icon.png 21:48, July 10, 2018 (UTC)

Actually, wait. I can add this to the template that generates the tables, so all tables of achievements that show requirements (which are basically the ones that used to be task sets) will show the explanation. :) Btw if you hover over the [B] it also has an short explanation. :) Farming-icon.png Salix of Prifddinas (Talk) Prifddinas lodestone icon.png 21:53, July 10, 2018 (UTC)

Wikia forking thread[edit source]

Hey Wynn Andye! I wanted to give you a heads up that there's a thread (Forum:Leaving Wikia) up for discussion right now about moving this wiki (and OSRS wiki) away from Wikia, to a self-hosted, Jagex-supported site. We'd love your input on the proposal (and the new wikis). Thanks! Magic logs detail.pngIsobelJTalk page 20:10, September 30, 2018 (UTC)
