Reverts[edit source]
I deleted the image you uploaded to show the fishing spot in the quest as I didn't think it was necessary to have an image just for this. Its fairly easy to find the fishing spot, but I did add an explanation that players could look for the map icon to the guide in place of the image.
It wasn't me that deleted the image you uploaded for the mining guide - but I assume if it was an image of the mine it was probably deleted as there is an existing images of the mine on its page (Falador mining site). I did alter the text you added - I removed the headings you added as I didn't feel they were necessary with such short paragraphs and to keep the formatting the same as other skill guides. I also added some links for the mines' page.
Please don't be put off by this - you are making good additions with things like mentioning alternative mining sites without aggressive monsters. I hope this helps and let me know if you need anything. Isobel

Replies[edit source]
Hey, first off I am sorry for not answering your messages sooner. I have been away on holiday for the last week or so, but I'm glad to see you've been helping out with editing here :) In future it might be helpful for you to check out RuneScape:User help, which is a page where you can ask questions to the editing community in general. I'll always help you to the best of my ability, but I can't pretend to be an expert on everything here and you might get more useful responses from people who are more active in editing the things you are interested in by posting there.
I do like the template you made for the monsters' information. The downside of using a template for this (instead of a table as it was before) is that you can't sort the information. However I think that the main thing to sort by would be monsters' combat levels and, since the monsters are already in different sections according to level, I don't think that not being able to sort them is really an issue. I do like how cleanly the template displays the information.
I also like that you have tried to do something better/more visual for gear recommendations in the guides. Typically our format for gear recommendations is somethings like Giant mole/Strategies#Recommended equipment and I would personally have gone for something using a consistent format to that. I appreciate that you have put a lot of effort into creating that section though. What you've made does display the gear nicely and improves the guide - I don't think you have to be worried about anyone removing it. I have to admit I am not great with the combat training guides so these are just my thoughts looking over your edits.
With regard to the purple theme, this is just a change for halloween so the colours will be returned to how they were before shortly. There is a thread open about it on our forums at the moment as some people are having issues with the halloween colours - you can post on there if you are still having difficulties and people who are more technical than me may be able to fix it for you :) Links are already appearing golden to me so I think this may have been addressed already.
Finally, I saw you added a section about herbs to the Farming training guide. Farming herbs wasn't mentioned as part of the training methods as they aren't really great for gaining experience. You are right that they are good money making though - there are money making guides for herbs that are profitable to grow and these are already linked in the money making section of the training guide so I took out the section you added for this reason (sorry :().
Hope this helps,
Isobel

the Wikian title[edit source]
Hello! Following the discussion at RuneScape:The Wikian, you have been granted the Wikian title! Please make arrangements with Gaz Lloyd to receive the title in game. If you could please add your in-game name to RuneScape:The Wikian/Users, it would be most appreciated. Thanks and congratulations! 01:20, December 14, 2016 (UTC)

Spelling[edit source]
Hello, Wonderfl. Your recent edit used American English, whereas the RuneScape Wiki prefers British English in articles. Please try to adhere to these guidelines in subsequent edits. Thanks.
You've been around long enough that I shouldn't need to leave this template here. Yet I am. Please pay attention to your spelling. AnselaJonla

Wikia forking thread[edit source]
Hey Wonderfl! I wanted to give you a heads up that there's a thread (Forum:Leaving Wikia) up for discussion right now about moving this wiki (and OSRS wiki) away from Wikia, to a self-hosted, Jagex-supported site. We'd love your input on the proposal (and the new wikis). Thanks! Isobel

Spider products image[edit source]
Hey! Thanks for making that image, but I think the necessary information is already conveyed in each page's use of either Template:Infobox recipe or Template:Uses material list and, as such, the image kind of just crowds the pages. I think it's better to just have the templates, please let me know if you have any questions! ɳex undique 06:15, 18 April 2020 (UTC)

Unnecessary Images[edit source]
I've removed the uploads "Scavanging loot.png", "Refined Anima Core Legs of Zaros disassembly.png" and "Refined Anima Core Legs of Zaros disassembly.png". These files, amongst others, are unnecessary for the articles they were previously on. Textual information on the pages they were also on will need to be sorted as they are either needing to be on a subpage as /Guide or needing removal as being redundant from the Calculator pages that are made for those purposes. If you're going to upload images for 'guides' like on Divine Conversion, images should be properly cropped and follow RS:IMP. Thank you. Ryan PM 16:11, 30 May 2020 (UTC)
- I've also removed the superfluous information on noxious components, ilujankan components and scavenging articles as per my previous message. Should you desire to redo them, please make them a subpage but leave scavenging off of other articles as it is an unrealistic method of obtaining a specific rare component for the invention skill. Ryan PM 16:33, 30 May 2020 (UTC)
- What harm does the image do by simply existing? To me it seems that superfluous is another way of saying you don't like it. Wonderfl (talk) 04:52, 31 May 2020 (UTC)
- A "loot" image like the one for scavenging was unnecessary to detail how the perk operates when showing practically every component it has a possibility of getting. Images for disassembly are not necessary as that is conveyed in the textual information, same for setup images. Future guides should have the existing Obtaining section as an overview above the guide as it is awkward having a section above it saying Methods of obtaining followed by another section of Obtaining per every other material article. The guides as they are now are good after the changes you've made and minor moving of original obtaining to an overview above the rest. Ryan PM 12:08, 31 May 2020 (UTC)

Completionist cape reqs[edit source]
Hey I just noticed you replaced the automatically generated list of achievements/requirements on the completionist cape page. While your categorised sections do look very nice, they won't be automatically updated as was the case previously. I also see that the descriptions of the requirements are now hardcoded as well and thus will also not be automatically updated as was the case previously. I also have to point out that the page is now inconsistent with the other cape pages (master quest cape and completionist cape (t)). However I'm not just gonna revert it, I would like to see what other people think of it before doing anything. Salix (Talk)

Sliske's labyrinth 2 map[edit source]
I see you reverted my solution correction for File:Sliske's Labyrinth 2 map (solution).png, with explanation that it doesn't work. I spent quite considerable time making sure and documenting how exactly it works (findings can be found in Sliske's Endgame#Maps), and after double-checking it, it still looks like the solution should work. I've personally ran through the maze over 50 times with the map, so unless something has changed during the past few months, it should really work. The old solution that is currently on the page is very suboptimal in many ways as I explained in my commit messages. Thingummywut (talk) 15:25, 7 August 2020 (UTC)
- Yes, I got stuck in the north-west quadrant. If you could do me a favour and do another run? If it works feel free to revert it. I just reverted it because I got stuck and didn't want other players to get stuck as well Wonderfl (talk) 05:39, 8 August 2020 (UTC)
- Did another run. This time following the non-lore path that I usually don't do. Worked as expected. I reverted the file back to the better solution. Thingummywut (talk) 23:13, 15 August 2020 (UTC)

Re: Removal of Combat cape perks[edit source]
Hi. The choice of cape perks is entirely subjective. Cape pages (Max, Comp, etc.) already link to the section about skillcape perks on the skillcape article. Adding this much subjective and unrelated information to an already long page is not a good idea. Content from the body of an article should not be transcluded unless there's a very good reason for it. 5-x (Talk) 16:42, 17 October 2020 (UTC)
Image categories[edit source]
Could you please select a relevant category when uploading images in future? You've added a number of images as "detailed item images" which are not - these are specifically detailed views of inventory items. It would be helpful if you selected something relevant to the image being uploaded, or failing that don't select a category if you are unsure. Henneyj 19:35, 19 October 2020 (UTC)
- Of course, I used to select that category because it was the only one with a fair use license. If I select another category, and it doesn't have a license, will the image be deleted as it "is unlicensed"? This used to happen on Wikipedia and it was very annoying. Wonderfl (talk) 04:24, 20 October 2020 (UTC)
- Most of the images that I uploaded have been categorized, picking one from each category:
- File:BGH Arena Tree cutting.png - Minigames
- File:Orthen Dig Site Moksha Ritual Site.png - Orthen site
- [[:File:Moksha Ritual Site hidden staircase.png]] - Orthen steps
- File:Everlight Hallowed Be Mosaic.png - Everlight site
- File:Wingsuit v3 location 1.png - Stormguard site
- File:Observation_Outpost_map.png - Maps
- File:Araxxor acid path luring.png - Araxxor
- [[:File:Incomplete_Portal_Network_II.png]] - Interface
- I hope this is fine. Wonderfl (talk) 05:03, 20 October 2020 (UTC)
- I would like to add to this: we typically use licenses to automatically include the relevant categories as well as making sure we do not violate copyrights. Hence, when uploading images you can immediately select the correct category from a dropdown menu under file description, see image here: [1]. Do not forget to edit the file page afterwards to add the correct link to the license template. E.g. {{DII license|Rune warhammer}}
AmoVos 08:07, 20 October 2020 (UTC)
- By the way, we do not delete unlicensed images, but strongly encourage to use licenses for the reason above. Its just the right thing to do.
AmoVos 08:11, 20 October 2020 (UTC)
- Okay, but what about the images above, which licence should I use? I couldn't find any license template for general location/interface images. Wonderfl (talk) 08:14, 20 October 2020 (UTC)
- Yes you're right there doesn't seem to be a license template for everything which is probably a wider issue with the wiki that needs sorting out. I think the categories in that list are fine, each seems relevant to what it shows. Like AmoVo said the license templates add categories with them so it's better not to have it if it's not relevant and then just add a category on its own for now. Henneyj 22:24, 20 October 2020 (UTC)

Images[edit source]
Hi Wonderfl, Thanks for uploading nice images. However, some recommendations. Please, do not include your character in scenery/location images, like you did with https://runescape.wiki/w/File:Observation_Outpost_entry_door.png. Use the freecam instead.
Also be careful that no similar images already exist when you upload new ones. For example you uploaded https://runescape.wiki/w/File:Anachronia_Rex_skeleton.png, while the same was already uploaded under https://runescape.wiki/w/File:Rex_skeleton_(incomplete).png. If you took a clearly superior image, or if something was updated/changed in-game, you can upload a new version on the filepage of the file that already exists.
Coming to another point, please use consistent naming. E.g. If the statue is called Rex skeleton, then call the image "Rex_skeleton.png". If you want to show that its incomplete, denote between brackets as with the former example.
Thanks!
AmoVos 07:12, 20 October 2020 (UTC)
- I suggest you take a good look at this page: Help:Editing/Taking_images. Additionally, for file names: RuneScape:Images_and_media_policy#Image_name
AmoVos 07:15, 20 October 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks, I'll go through those -- Wonderfl (talk) 07:32, 20 October 2020 (UTC)
- I was under the impression that guide images were allowed to show the RS tooltip as well as the character. I had followed this policy copying from other images not uploaded by me. The image you linked to was not a "location image" per se, but was showing players where to find the door, thus the tooltip would be helpful. Character also, possibly, may be helpful. Wonderfl (talk) 08:15, 20 October 2020 (UTC)
Orthen location redirects[edit source]
Hi. I noticed you reverted my edits of replacing redirects to some of the recent stubs of location articles for Orthen. Did you have any other justification for it than the current contents of the location articles being stubs? For instance Crypt of Varanus is supposed to have all kinds of lore related to it, and Orthen - Crypt of Varanus excavation site that is supposed to focus on the excavation site is not the correct place to cover the lore as the excavation site has only recently been set up. Furthermore, Crypt of Varanus is a location on the map, and the excavation site is a feature inside that location, so I think existence of articles for both the location and the excavation site is justified. Xolo City was a similar thing and that article has already been expanded a tiny bit. It's not a good idea to redirect to incorrect articles just because the current article is in a stubby state. Thingummywut (talk) 09:47, 20 October 2020 (UTC)
- Actually, I noticed that you did the same thing for Xolo City but that got reverted by other people who wanted to add the lore that didn't fit the excavation site article. Please consider reverting your edits so that people can contribute to the correct space. Thingummywut (talk) 09:50, 20 October 2020 (UTC)
- I've now reverted at least most of the related edits. We again have the space to expand with lore and stuff. Thingummywut (talk) 10:50, 20 October 2020 (UTC)
Re: Deletion of guide images[edit source]
Hey there. Large images that move things down and take up space should be limited to only those considered necessary. I didn't find those images necessary.
- (1) is just an image of a textbox saying that you need to add 20 ancient vis to teleport. That can easily be explained by text and has no real use as an image. It's not clear that this is to show the location of the teleport (and wouldn't help much if it did) and, if so, a doogle map is better.
- (2) correct me if I'm wrong (I didn't do it yet) but it seems that the stairs would be right there and noticeable to the average player. Thus, there's no need for an image of just the "climb down" option.
- (3) is the same reason as number 1.
- (4) the excavation spot is clear for players who are there, a large image to show it is unnecessary. If one is necessary, it should be a doogle map.
- (5) is the same reason as number 1.
I appreciate your help in creating early guides, but too many images can ruin a guide and these images seem objectively unnecessary to the average player. Let me know if you have any more questions. ɳex undique 04:44, 21 October 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks, I understood this myself that's why I reverted my chat messages on your page. Feel free to restore them! Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it. I have added some new images in a specific format to help players find the locations of the orthen teleportation devices, I hope these are okay:
- File:Orthen teleportation device (base camp).png
- File:Orthen teleportation device (crypt).png
- File:Orthen teleportation device (outpost).png
- File:Orthen teleportation device (xolo city).png
- File:Orthen teleportation device (ritual site).png
- As other users have mentioned, they are without my character displayed, and without any other players displayed.
