Vote in the Weird Gloop elections![edit source]
Hi Salix of Prifddinas!
Because of your involvement with the wiki, you are eligible to vote on the candidates for the board of Weird Gloop, the company that hosts the RuneScape and Old School RuneScape wikis.
There are 4 candidates for RuneScape, 4 candidates for OSRS, and 1 candidate for pt-RuneScape. If you'd like to influence who represents the voices of these communities inside the company, I strongly encourage you to vote! You are one of only 204 people that meet the requirements, and this is a chance to help shape the future of the wikis.
Replying on Talk pages[edit source]
I apologize for getting that wrong. I was thinking too much about my reply than getting my reply to the right page. I'll put more effort in next time. Thanks. THAT 1 CH00B (talk) 01:48, 5 January 2020 (UTC)
Relight my F(f)ire[edit source]
Hey, I personally disagree with naming the pages "(Combat achievement)" or "(Master Quest Cape achievement)". The capitalization of "Fire" is very clear, and I think all that suffices is to put the otheruses template on each page. There are several other times in the past where I distinctly remember 2 pages that differed by only a capital letter and the issue was solved that way. See, for the most recent example, Mini Morn and [[Mini morn]]. But again, that's far from the only example. Basically, since each spelling is unique, they deserve to have that full unique name as the page name, without any specifications in parentheses; only using otheruses templates. 14:27, 28 January 2020 (UTC)
- Ok well I still disagree with all of those discussions because it leads to inconsistent applications of the wiki's guidelines. Whatever, one more disorganized rule. 14:43, 29 January 2020 (UTC)
Thanks for letting me know, I have updated my signature accordingly :)
Re Discord, I am not currently on it, no. Is it something I should look into?01:04, 1 February 2020 (UTC)
Delete image of Mod Kari[edit source]
Hi. As the deletion reason for the file "Mod Kari.png" you wrote "this is a wiki, not instagram". While this IS a wiki, the picture was taken from her JMod Twitter page and she didn't oppose its usage on the wiki as per this message in the RS discord server. I had a look around, and there is not a single policy that opposes the usage of filters in images of living persons, which is, I assume, the reason why File:Mod Scorpio.jpg is allowed to be on the wiki. 13:27, 4 February 2020 (UTC)
RE:Ashdale Caves (achievement)[edit source]
Hey, when I unlocked it, I went digging everywhere for it, but it wouldn't show up at all. Even this morning since the update, I looked for its path and couldn't find it, even while showing completed paths. When clicking on it in my most recent achievements, it brought me to the main page (the vertical sub-tab labelled "Achievements" with the trophy icon) of the achievements, on the "Skills" category (with the 120 skills achievements I haven't unlocked yet), which makes me believe it doesn't have a path; I hope they'll fix its path/categorization soon. I've unfortunately unlocked more achievements since then, so I won't be able to verify it again in the future, but I guarantee you it exists. I'm pretty sure if you or someone else tries to go into the Ashdale Caves, the achievement should unlock for you too.20:27, 18 March 2020 (UTC)
- Yeah, I've submitted a bug report. I had also submitted a bug report for I Need A Hero, which isn't unlocking for me, for some reason. 20:49, 18 March 2020 (UTC)
On Template:Necromancer[edit source]
I'm sending you this message since the edit summary does not allow enough explaining, and I want to avoid this turning into an edit war. Basically: I did not list the characters you included as necromancers because the evidence for their inclusion as necromancers was not, in my opinion, sufficient. Thus, I reverted the edits.
Claims about Khazard and Vanstrom Klause seem to boil down to extrapolation, and no facts. The only evidence suggesting that they practiced necromancy are resurrection of Bouncer, and the Skeletal Hellhound, but these are pure extrapolation with no evidence suggesting that they were the ones behind their reanimation; and the former could've easily been by one of Bilrach's own necromancers. Vanstrom Klause is the bigger offender here, since "Necromancer" article basically acknowledges that him being a necromancer is just a hypothesis. Khazard being labeled as necromancer seems to boil down to "we don't know how Bouncer came back, but plenty of Mahjarrat are confirmed to be necromancers, so Khazard probably is too", which isn't a very solid basis for an argument.
Same goes for Bilrach, but unlike with Khazard, I was unable to find any solid evidence that Bilrach is a necromancer at all. The closest thing to evidence was that there's necromancy used in Daemonheim, but again, there's no evidence that he did the reanimating, instead of one of the necrolords or necromancers.
As for Enakhra... Well, the Boneguard is not a undead creature, but Akthanakos forced into the form of an undead being; the other Boneguard was removed from the game; and Enakhra's only other attempt at reanimating the dead ended in failure.
Rashiliya seems like an obvious definition for being a necromancer, but curiously, I couldn't find any references to her being the one who reanimated the dead. Rashiliya's son was supposedly raised from the dead by Zamorak, and while the Karamjans refer to her as the source of the undead, there's no hard in-universe evidence for that.
Grayzag was mentioned to have studied necromancy, but we've never seen him practice it, and I get the feeling he's lumped in with the rest because he's a villain, and necromancers tend to be villains. However, studying necromancy is not the same as being a necromancer. This is a hypothetical argument, but I nontheless want to hear your logic: if Ariane, a character established as , was revealed to have studied necromancy with no evidence suggesting she has ever practiced it, would she be listed as necromancer? If not, then how is Grayzag any different? If yes, are you willing to list every single character who has dabbled with necromancy or resurrected the dead (like Fern, who created the zombie centaurs that killed her; or Saradomin, who resurrected Sir Owen using the same artifact which created the undead)?
And as for Xau-Tak: he's associated with necromancy, yes, but never have we seen him reanimate the undead. We've seen undead reanimated using the black stone and the undead reanimated by his minions, but as far as I can recall we have never seen Xau-Tak himself reanimate the undead.
Ultimately, this boils down to how one defines a necromancer. I stuck to the narrowest definition: if the character is referred to as a necromancer, or is known to have practiced necromancy by reanimating the dead. Beyond that... things get complicated. As said before, is Vanstrom Klause a necromancer because he has a skeletal hellhound as a minion? Is Grayzag a necromancer because he's been referred to have studied necromancy? Is Saradomin a necromancer because he used an artifact that can reanimate the undead to resurrect a person? Is the player character a necromancer because we summon skeletons via skeleton seeds and the ghast familiar? Are Lady Deathknell or Strongbones necromancers because they summon undead minions without being ever referred to as necromancers?
Zodi-(Y)(y)ak Track[edit source]
Hey, should the Y really be capitalized? In the game update it's not...13:35, 23 March 2020 (UTC)
- Eh, actually, there are both in the news post... 13:37, 23 March 2020 (UTC)
- Generally yes, but if the character that will replace the comma is a special pattern character (like
+) it will have to be escaped with
%+. I'll tell you if that's the case - Habblet (talk) 11:27, 27 March 2020 (UTC)
RE:Level 90 Archaeology requirement for Tirannwn achievements?[edit source]
Yeah, I confirm that it is not possible to craft (or wear if already owned) the milestone capes without the required level in Archaeology.12:48, 31 March 2020 (UTC)
re: Template:Excavation hotspots[edit source]
Fair enough. I agree that the navbox doesn't belong on the digsites' pages, I just somehow interpreted that part of the style guide as referring only to the links within the groups of a navbox. But, looking at it again, it does say that all links in a navbox should go both ways, and that does make sense if I stop to think about it.13:57, 1 April 2020 (UTC)

Excavation hotspots[edit source]
Hi, I wanted an experienced second opinion before I start changing a bunch of pages. I'm planning to start updating all of the archaeology excavation hotspot pages with rarity information. My plan is to set all materials to "Common", make sure there is only the one tetracompass line with no individual item lines, and then set the rarity for artefacts, and therein lies my question. My thought is to give the artefacts rarity of "Special" with the footnote "One damaged artefact is received each time the excavation progress bar is completely filled, with an equal chance of receiving each." Does this sound like a plan, or is there a better option for artefact rarity?
