Welcome![edit source]

Wiki.png

Hello, Rsshadow, and welcome to the RuneScape Wiki!

Thank you for taking an interest in our wiki. If you have any trouble or need help, feel free to ask questions on my talk page or any other editor's talk page. Also, you could look at a help page or you could shout out on the local forums. We hope you like it here and decide to stay!

Here are a few pages to help out new editors such as yourself:

Please sign your name on talk pages by using four tildes (~~~~) or use the "sign" button (Signature button.png) above the edit box. This will automatically produce your name and the date. Signing your comments is important, as it lets other editors know who has posted which comments.

Warning[edit source]

Stop shield.png

Do not plagiarise! This includes copying the in-game descriptions of the islands word-for-word. If you continue to do this, you may be blocked. Small recharge gem.png AnselaJonla Slayer-icon.png 09:51, December 12, 2012 (UTC)

It says on my userpage and my talk page not to contact me in game, yet you ignore those requests and do just that. That is rude, and I see absolutely no reason to talk in game with someone so ignorant that they would join my cc with the express purpose of ignoring my wishes. I have to ask this; just how come you cannot read the giant text at the top of my page, or the text next to my clan details, that explain the ways you can contact me? Or why you thought that didn't apply to you and decided to contact me in game anyway? Small recharge gem.png AnselaJonla Slayer-icon.png 10:28, December 12, 2012 (UTC)
Could I ask you to learn how to sign messages and put new conversations under new headers, or are you above all that as well? I am assuming good faith, by the way; I am assuming that you are just too absorbed in yourself to notice that just maybe I didn't want to be contacted in game. [[Special:Chat]] exists for a reason. Deleting discussions[edit source]

Information Hello Rsshadow, please do not delete discussions as we have a policy against it. If you would like to remove a discussion, then you may archive it. To archive a talk page, simply create a subpage titled Talk:Pagename/archive 1, or User talk:Rsshadow/archive 1 if it is your talkpage, and be sure to include a link to the archive on the talk page you archived. Drop rates[edit source]

The reason the drop rates table is a lie is because it is not applied anywhere else on the wiki. Every drop table uses a subjective and relative system to define rarity. The only rarity we are ever certain about is 100% drops. The reason why I removed the table (and why it should stay off that page) is because the table is not truthful in defining rarities. It's an isolated scale that is, once again, not applied anywhere else on the wiki. And I can't simply "fix it" because that would require knowing the drop rates of every item from every monster. That's not feasible for us. The table goes against RS:NPOV by defining a system of rarities as being used when in reality it is not. There has never been an agreement on where the line is drawn between common and uncommon, or uncommon and rare. By readding that table, you are asserting a system be applied to all of the wiki without consensus. Maybe twelve monsters max have very accurate data and follow some sort of system, but unless you plan to head a project that will get large samples of data for every monster ever, you can't assert a system anywhere in the mainspace. I'm not deleting this table without good reason; I'd rather not lie to our readers by saying a system is in place when it actually is not. MolMan 17:46, July 22, 2014 (UTC)

Events Gadget[edit source]

Are you still having issues with the events gadget on Chrome? I couldn't replicate but let me know if you are. - Seers headband 2 chathead.png Elessar2 (talk) 19:38, 16 January 2020 (UTC)

  • Yes, it hasn't changed. On firefox I can clearly see the calendar option. On Chrome it is still absent. I have yet to identify a cause myself. Rsshadow (talk) 19:56, 19 January 2020 (UTC)
  • I assume that means no errors in the console? Also do you have a discord? Seers headband 2 chathead.png Elessar2 (talk) 20:10, 19 January 2020 (UTC)
  • No errors whatsoever. Just a complete absence on chrome. Yes I do, however quite inactive most of the time. Othello and I'm in the RS wiki channel. Rsshadow (talk) 16:22, 20 January 2020 (UTC)
