New Emote[edit source]

Hey, Quarenon. There appears to be a new Emote (Ok emoticon.gif). I suggest you add it to your toolbar script. Magic-icon.pngStelercusIlluminated Book of Balance.png 00:11, September 19, 2010 (UTC)

Yea, I didn't even realize what you were talking about when you left that message. Don't worry about that, though. I don't expect people to get things done ASAP unless I am paying them. If you didn't already know [[MediaWiki:Common.js/calc.js]] does not appear to work with Oasis. I recommend you get on that when Oasis kicks in. Magic-icon.pngStelercusIlluminated Book of Balance.png 23:33, September 25, 2010 (UTC)
Wikia made it so you can't use the ?useskin=wikia trick for the URL unless you're in the Beta group. You may have to get in contact with a user who is in it or beg Wikia for forgiveness Beta rights. Seeing as how the RuneScape Wiki is considerably larger/more widely used than their other wikis, I imagine they would make an exception for you so you can fix up the scripts before the release. Good luck Ok (Yay, did that with the toolbar script). Magic-icon.pngStelercusIlluminated Book of Balance.png 23:43, September 25, 2010 (UTC)
I'm gunna be a talk page stalker and jump in to say that Wikia stated (somewhere) that css/js is not loaded from MediaWiki:Common.css/js for Oasis. Its loaded from MediaWiki:Wikia.css/js (or Special:MyPage/oasis.css/js for personal stuff). I haven't tried simply importing the script to my personal js and seeing if it works, so it might work with the new skin yet. I'll check it out if it hasn't been already when I get back on tomorrow. Quest.png Gaz Lloyd 7:^]Events!99s 00:11, September 26, 2010 (UTC)

For whatever reason, I've been having a problem with the editing interface that I fear is connected to the toolbar script, as it appeared after you updated it with the new emote. Occasionally the editing field will stretch out to the right some random length, which is obnoxious when you're writing something and have to insert otherwise unneeded breaks. I will remove the script for the time being and get back to you if it becomes clear whether or not the two are connected. Community Portal[edit source]

On the CP, there are many maintenance links at the bottom of the page. Most of them have a number by them indicating the number of pages in that category. Is there any way to subtract 1 from that number? Most of the maintenance categories have RuneScape:Placeholder in them, meaning that the "1" that's present is really zero. Thanks, --LiquidTalk 03:33, September 19, 2010 (UTC)

Also, per a successful RfD, the test4 template will be removed. I'm going to remove it from your template script now so no one accidentally uses it; feel free to look over my edit to make sure I didn't break anything. --LiquidTalk 16:10, September 19, 2010 (UTC)

A few questions for the new Wikia skin:

  1. How do I make a personal version of [[MediaWiki:Wiki-navigation]], like User:Iiii I I I/Monaco-sidebar? I've tried making [[User:Iiii I I I/Wiki-navigation]], but it doesn't seem to work.
  2. Does Special:Recentchanges still have an auto-refresh thing?
  3. When I use Special:ThemeDesigner, does it change the look for everyone using the new skin, or just me?
  4. Is it possible to make the Quick Preview script compatible with the new skin?
  5. Is there a way to add my own links to the ribbon thing at the bottom of every page?
  6. Do you like the new skin? :o

What would you do to modify User:Quarenon/autowelcome.js so that it doesn't put the two dashes (--) before the signature? Matt (t) 01:35, October 2, 2010 (UTC)

Hey there, just pestering you with some more coding related questions! Assuming your scripts that add templates to the editing bar work in Oasis, how can I add extra ones? Quick preview[edit source]

When you updated the quick preview script for Monobook and Wikia, you broke it for Monaco. Full Slayer Helmet! Evil1888 Talk A's L Dragon Platebody! 22:04, October 14, 2010 (UTC)

Turns out it might not be the script, other things of your's were failing BUT when I copy and pasted the full code onto my monaco.js (unchanged, same as current), it worked. Happened with the purge script, welcome script, and autocvu, all began to work as soon as I pasted the full code, not older versions. About few days ago, the css of monaco was broken across wikia, and after that was when the scripts stopped working. That might have something to do with it. Full Slayer Helmet! QBot[edit source]

Is it possible that QBot keeps the amount of people with level 99, and the amount of people with 200m xp up-to-date, for this page? I already made something that keeps the maximum xp of a skill up-to-date, but it would take off time for quite some people if QBot could do the other things too.(if i was not clear enough, it's because i'm tired now. I tried changing "Cabbage" to other pages, and change "UP""UP" etc. to other letters, but it doesn't work in the preview, which it should(it does with the original code). If you know how to, please tell me, as i'd like to learn how to do it, so i can add/change things later if i want to, so i don't have to ask someone else. QBot and Adv Log Autoupdates[edit source]

Is there any way I can ask QBot to perform the update, or do I have to wait till it gets around to it? I want to see what the Adventurer's Log will look like on my userpage, but if there's a way to manually find and fill in the page, I don't see it. Also, I'm not sure I out in the right code to insert my Log. Is it a problem that after (afaict) following the instructions at Template:Advlog autoupdate/doc I'm seeing nothing on my userpage, or is that just because the Bot hasn't added the info yet? Thanks! Charm log script[edit source]

Hi Quarenon,

Due to a change in the way charm logs are submitted and stored (see Forum:Preventing charm log vandalism/Implementation). I was wondering if you would be willing to donate a little bit of your time to create a script to update the charm logs, similar to your exchange page script.

The specifications for the script are as follows:

  • There should be five entry fields: one for the total kills, and one for each charm type.
  • This script should be a small popup window if the "Click here to add to charm log" link is clicked from the monster's main page. (this is analogous to the infobox popup for exchange pages).
  • This script should appear at the top of a Monster's charm log subpage, found at Monster/Charm log. (this is analogous to the script that appears at the top of the exchange pages).
  • After all the numbers are entered, and the "submit" button is clicked, the script should go to the Monster/Charm log page and add the data in the form of a template: {{Charm log submission|kills=0|gold=0|green=0|crimson=0|blue=0}}, with the appropriate numbers being substituted.

That is all the script has to do. TLULbot and AmauriceBot will periodically go through those pages and add the submissions to the data page found at Charm:Monster.

If you can do this, that would be great.

New user report[edit source]

Hi Quarenon,

I was wondering if it would be possible to make a report based on Special:Log/newusers. I asked you as you have the most experience with this kind of thing, with the edit reports and all. If this is possible, these are the things that I'd like to have on it

  • Number of people registered per day (is it possible to make this sortable?)
  • Number of people who registered that day who made an edit (i.e., their contribs link is blue.) And, if possible, number who made at least 25 edits.
  • Number who have a userpage
  • (If possible) the user with the most edits who registered that day.
  • Registration breakdown, hour-to-hour and day of the week.
  • Number of which had their accounts created automatically compared to "new user account".

New skin and custom Monaco-sidebars[edit source]

As you already know the Monaco skin is being discontinued, as such all user's sub pages for Monaco sidebars will soon be outdated, as such I was hoping you could get QBot to tag them for speedy deletion if possible. Common sense should be enough to bypass community input here since the pages will be out of date after November 3rd anyways and will most likely be put up for speedy deletion than after that since they serve no point (the sidebar doesn't work for other skins for the obvious reason of being designed for Monaco), so as long as a message is left on the users talk page it should be fine, thanks. Korasi's sword.png Archmage Elune  TalkHS Void knight deflector.png fetus is my son and I love him. 18:52, October 22, 2010 (UTC)

Forgot to think about point 2, (actually it might have been nice to consider that before having mine deleted but I had all my common locations book marked anyways) although point 1 does give me a thought, perhaps if that happens it would be as simple as just having the pages moved than as chances are they'll need a different page to work, it would seem the easiest way to help users realize this ability should this happen is either via site notice or a message on those who override Monaco-sidebar a message telling them they can move their page to whatever the new page for oasis would be.(Same could be said for mono-book but after looking into it overriding mono-book is alot different than Monaco Lol). 200 million experience/frequency[edit source]

I was gonna nom this for and RFD when I saw in the history that Qbot was set to update it. So two three questions:

  1. Did you make it a seperate subpage so that Qbot could update it?
  2. Could Qbot update it if the code for the table was on the main 200mxp page?
  3. Could Qbot also update the "Players with 200M XP" table on the main 200mxp page if it were also a subpage?

Thanks. Matt (t) 22:18, October 23, 2010 (UTC)

Mr. Magic please help.[edit source]

He Who Maketh Dreameths Cometh True-eths; could you please explore the options we have regarding having auto updating player statistics, similar to [[w:c:runescape:User:Quarenon/Hiscores|rs:User:Quarenon/Hiscores]]? There is no current page/feature dedicated by Nexon to giving player raw stats through a webpage like Jagex has. The best we have to work with is Nexon's player pages, which has LOADS of data, but none of which is raw. The "Weapon Usage" and "Gear" tabs are unneeded. We do, however, need just the "Combat Score" number from the "Medals" tab. There is an effective code for stripping the page for certain stats here. But can it be modified to print the stats in a wiki {{#switch: function? Like

Or even just continue to add within the table but have a modified parameter to give a week code {{#time:y-W}} (21-47, upbot would print {{SUBST:#time:y-W}} in parenthesis directly behind the stat.) assuming the page gets updated weekly? AKA

So a subpage of a Player:Name page ,preferably "/characterstats", would be one massive switch, with old stats from older dates still there for reference (If i wanted to get the "EXP ive earned since January 1st, 2010", id enter something like

{{Player:H Fern/characterstats|exp({{#time:y-W| January 1, 2010 }})}}

and it would return the amount of exp i had then (if it was recorded, non padded as in no commas in the number; we can pad later with a string).

The page would end up looking something like:

|kills={{Player:H Fern/characterstats|kills(21-47)}}
|deaths={{Player:H Fern/characterstats|deaths(21-47)}}
|headshots={{Player:H Fern/characterstats|headshots(21-47)}}
|nutshots={{Player:H Fern/characterstats|nutshots(21-47)}}

and would continuously grow with new added info. Note how the default "kills" and such generic info points to the current kills or info points.

So would QBot auto-update the page(s)? Some data that would be useful to have on file and is available from our char pages:

  • EXP
  • KDR
  • Combat Score
  • Current GP
  • Rank (Captain, Lieutenant, ect..)
  • Player Ranking (compared w/ other players, similar to how Zezima was #1)
  • Kills
  • Deaths
  • Kill/Death Ratio
  • Headshots
  • Nutshots
  • Total Matches Played
  • Matches Won
  • Matches Lost
  • Matches Forfeited
  • Average Kills/Match
  • Average Deaths/Match
  • Longest Kill Streak
  • Flags Captured
  • Bombs Exploded
  • Bombs Defused
  • Successful Uploads
  • Super Spies Killed
  • Infected
  • Matches survived as human
  • Infected Slayed
  • Accolades (under "Medal Case" Tab)
    • Multi-Kills
    • Ultra-Kills
    • Fantastic
    • Unbelievable

Thats 1,600+ points of data / year / account.

Proof you can harvest data

Could you use to pull and then organize the data from the Nexon char pages to like jagex's? Then run QBot as you would on the Jagex page? And use a modified version of your [[w:c:runescape:Template:ParseHiscoreData]] to convert it? I do however like my first idea better.

Pweese make my dreams come true mr. Magic! --[[w:c:combatarms:User:H Fern|H Fern]] 23:53, October 24, 2010 (UTC)

Hi Quarenon, your custom dropdown script doesn't seem to be working right now. If you have a moment, can you take a quick gander at User:Liquidhelium/wikia.js and see if I did something wrong? It used to work on monaco; for some reason it doesn't on oasis. Thanks, --LiquidTalk 00:27, November 16, 2010 (UTC)

Unfortunately, it still doesn't seem to work. I tried on Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Chrome. None of them displayed the custom settings. Happy New Year, --LiquidTalk 23:27, January 3, 2011 (UTC)

I can always just manually type the reason. I really appreciate your help in this case. Thanks, --LiquidTalk 23:24, January 6, 2011 (UTC)

Tabber replacement[edit source]

This is about the thing at [[w:c:joeytje50:Test]].

Hi. I have made something similar to the <tabber> function, but then without using JS, but only CSS1 / 2. This is because JavaScript is not always activated, and if we use tabber, it hides information inside tabber if JS is not activated. With help of TLUL I managed to get this result. Now I'd like to ask you: could you please make something that if you hover over another tab than the default tab, it shows(like it is now) and if you hover away from the tab, it stays(now it hops back to the default tab or if there's none the tab closes) so, for example, I hover over tab 2, tab 2 opens, i hover away from the tabs, and now the tab closes/switches back to tab 1, but I want it to stay at tab 2. If you need to know how it works, there is a detailed guide [[w:c:joeytje50:Template:Tabber/How|here]].

If you got time left after that, could you please make the width of the tabs 100%? I tried it a couple of times, and nothing i tried worked. But I find the first request more important for the template.

Thanks already, and good luck on making the code if you are going to do it(I made you admin so you can edit MediaWiki files). If you are too busy or have another reason you can't/don't want to do it, please just tell me. I don't want to force work on you. JOEYTJE50TALKpull my finger 00:46, January 27, 2011 (UTC)

It is no problem to use JavaScript or another language for that part, the main goal for the tabber is that it is possible to see without JS (With the current JS-based tabber all content of the tabs is moved underneath each other if JS has been disabled) and that is already there. So, the goal of the new tabber is that it is possible to see with JS. It's no problem there is some JS that makes it better. JOEYTJE50TALKpull my finger 11:12, January 28, 2011 (UTC)

Re User:The_last_username_left/ModalDialogs.js[edit source]

Heh, I wasn't even aware that it was used sitewide (or if I was, I'd forgotten). Yeah, I agree, it shouldn't really be there, at least not without some safeguards in place and a notice at the top. A URL whitelist stored in the config would be a good option, as well as allowing all pages from and through. If it ever seems like that sort of script will be useful, I'll remember to take a look at the security side before suggesting/using it. I'm a regular user and I approve this message.  TLUL Talk - Contribs 05:53, February 6, 2011 (UTC)

RSHiscores Update[edit source]

I've just come back and realized RSHiscores is not working on the wiki, it works fine in my local tests, but the live code has no way to return which curl error/bad HTTP status is occurring, so I've updated it to do so and while I was at it I switched to alphabetic error codes to prevent confusion with normal results. Please review the new version of RSHiscores, if you know of any changes that are needed/wanted for the wiki please inform me and I'll add before sending it to Wikia. I should be able to debug the problem now and future problems easier, however I bet it has somehow become blocked since it worked on Wikia before. - TehKittyCatTalk Wikian-Book 19:36, February 6, 2011 (UTC)

I'd noticed that, but at the time didn't think the solution was so simple, then it came to me when you mentioned it, I think it is fixed now at least it is in my testing, however any HTTP/curl error that occurs will not propagate between uses by two users, but that is an edge-case I don't think is worth the extra code and it may not always be the right response. If you have no further concerns with it, I'll send the update in later so hopefully in a week or two depending on Wikia's release schedule RSHiscores will be up and running again. - TehKittyCatTalk Wikian-Book 04:49, February 7, 2011 (UTC)

Mass rollback[edit source]

Hey Quarenon, another question about that script. Is it possible to customize the location of the "rollback all" option other than the top slot in My Tools? I'm used to Recent Changes being there and click there instinctively, which caused me to accidentally rollback Evil1888's edits (thankfully, there weren't that many, so it didn't take long to revert all of my reverts). Thanks, --LiquidTalk 01:02, February 9, 2011 (UTC)

Calculator script improvements[edit source]

As recently shown by the RS community, we need to improve our calculators. While a lot of it is just making them, I think it would also be good if the calc script had a few extra features (I've been talking with cook, and he has some suggestions too):

  • Radio buttons - rather than having a drop down for two (or maybe three) options, radio buttons would be neat to have.
  • Enhanced autocomplete - The current autocomplete populates from all articles in given namespaces. We think it would be excellent to have an autocomplete that populates from a predefined list of things (say a premade bullet pointed list on a separate page) as well. The main example we were thinking of for this was a Treasure Trail calculator, where you type in the (start of the) clue, and the autocomplete menu pops up with the suggestions.
  • More dynamic form - I think this would be a pain to make into something code-able on wiki pages, but a form that allows/disallows changes to certain parameters based on already entered parameters would be amazing. The example I was thinking of is Calculators/Max hit melee|the max hit calculator, that is if say the salve amulet is set to anything other than none, then berserker necklace is forcibly set to none and can't be changed. I don't know if it would be possible, but if it is it would be really useful.
  • Extra customisation - The least directly useful, but the ability to change the colours of the forms on a case by case basis has its uses.
  • I'll add more if I think of anything else.

Would any of them be feasible to do with JS? And if so would you be able to do them? Thanks, Quest.png Gaz Lloyd 7:^]Events!99s 14:13, February 15, 2011 (UTC)

I saw you already added the suggestion box, and I'd like to give some feedback. First is that if you click on the suggest box, it doesn't enter that in the input box, but reloads the page. Second is that if you press [DOWN] [ENTER] the search box doesn't disappear, and sometimes hovers over the result. I hope you can fix this. Thanks in advance, JOEYTJE50TALKpull my finger 12:35, February 27, 2011 (UTC)

Tweak to templates script[edit source]

Could you please remove the automatic summary if someone is editing a new section? GEMW Update[edit source]

I noticed GEMW Update doesn't handle permissions. Maybe a different message than an API error should be displayed when the script won't be able to change it, such as not displaying the edit form, instead show a message? "Due to high risk of vandalism, this page has been protected, to update the price please login."(autoconfirmed), "Due to high risk of vandalism, this page has been protected, to update the price please contact an administrator."(sysop) I'm still waiting on the RSHiscores update, Wikia's has been changing/having-problems-with their email/support systems causing it to have been lost four times so far... - TehKittyCatTalk Wikian-Book 16:57, March 3, 2011 (UTC)

External Content[edit source]

The new RSHiscores should be live Wednesday, but it will still be broken, though the error codes will help indicate the problem. I have done research and found a solution to accessing external content through JavaScript on the wiki though, YQL can be used through JSONP to get around cross-domain limitations. This may work as a solution for the calculators(hiscores and adventure log) and for updating exchange prices from the wiki, making incorrect updates even less likely. What do you think of the Semantic Drilldown/Forms/Gallery/Maps(useful for in-game map?)/MediaWiki/Result_Formats extensions? I could/might request them to be installed on my test wiki and have an extra namespace added for testing purposes. I think they might improve editing by providing forms and make accessing/listing wiki data easier through putting meaning to the text. Forum:Flash provides an interesting and potential way to add to our calculators, we could use raw HTML to have the calculator already laid out, so loading of the script would not be visible.

Hey if you are too busy to do it, please tell me so I can ask someone else. JOEYTJE50TALKpull my finger 12:15, March 17, 2011 (UTC)
I have talked to some people in the IRC about it, and they thought it was best to have the subsections be split per 25 levels (and 100+), just like you said, and if the monster has multiple combat levels it should get multiple entries in de drops. I also think it would be good to merge 2 sections if they are too empty, or maybe even merge all sections if they are too empty. For example, the Raw chicken has so few droppers, it would be quite pointless to seperate them into multiple sections. I'd say a minimum of 4 or 5 for each section would be required, and if it doesn't get to this limit, the section should be merged (1-25 and 25-50 with each other, 50-75 and 75-100, and 75-100 with 100+). Also that raw chicken article shows another problem, which is monsters without combat level. If there's no combat level specified on the page, it should just be in the 1-25 table, with N/A in it (if it has {{Pickpocket}} on the page, it should list the quantity as <quantity> (thieving). Then finally, the maximum amount of dropping monsters should be 25. If it has more droppers, (like bones) it should simply not have a table.
Okay, that's everything I think. I hope you can do it, thanks for helping! If you can't do any part of it (like the thieving monsters) you could also as well skip it, then I could also manually do it. Anyway, thanks for helping =D JOEYTJE50TALKpull my finger 17:05, March 19, 2011 (UTC)
I've seen another case where the quantity should have something behind it: implings. So, if there's {{Impling}} on the page, it should have |Quantity=<quantity> (hunter). So if you are doing the (thieving) thing, you could do the same with (hunter). Thanks, JOEYTJE50TALKpull my finger 12:39, March 20, 2011 (UTC)
Okay, thanks a lot for doing this =D JOEYTJE50TALKpull my finger 21:11, March 21, 2011 (UTC)
It's probably the best to split those headers into a seperate header for each version of the item. This is because the articles will have to be split once(RS:G) so we could as well split the tables already now. JOEYTJE50TALKpull my finger 07:14, March 22, 2011 (UTC)

Do you have any ideas on how to create at least a semi random caculation script? It was something i worked on for a while but gave up but i had any progress. The problem is that mediawiki caches everything, so any randomness like <choose> wouldnlt work, cuz it would require a full page refresh to purge the cache, which would kill all variables etc. Basically i want to know if even some semblance of randpmnesss is possible. Calculators[edit source]

Hey Q!

Just got a quick question about calcs: is it possible to change the forms layout? For example, I'd want the form not to appear row by row, but instead side by side. Would it be possible to do with the way the code is currently written or would it be easily changeable? If you're a visual person (as am I), here's an example:

Current Layout

Desired Layout

param1,1 param1,2 param1,3 ...
param2,1 param2,2 param2,3 ...

I'd like this as I want to make a farm run calc and with some many parameters, i'd be a real pain to use with the current way the params are lined up. The new way would allow me to make a cool, user-friendly layout for a calc that would put us in front of other fansites. Thanks in advance!

Sorry to bother you again, but I had a new idea for a script :P. I've looked into it a bit and I can't seem to find a (simple) way to do this. But would you happen to know how it would be possible to have a recent changes-like page similar to the one I made, but designed for looking over old IP edits over selected namespaces? The part I couldn't figure out is a way for each link to disappear once checked. That way when you go to the page after a certain time period, it would show all edits (up to a limit, 500 for example) that have happened since you last checked. Perhaps you know of a way to hide the visited links? Suppa chuppa Talk 05:34, April 23, 2011 (UTC)

Javascript AJAX template parsing for wiki[edit source]

Hello i am currently working on a large project for the wiki. But i am having trouble. I don't have the ajax / json idea right on how to make it work. so i was wondering if you can check out my script for me. and get the templates parsed in the code? Thanks. I really don't know how to get it parsed to tell the truth. All the script is my work but. I just don't have any idea how to make the template tags parse. The reason i said i don't get the idea of ajax / json is i was looking over the [[Mediawiki:Common.js/calc.js|Calc.js]] Page and it just was too confusing for me. I got some of it. but not what i needed. This is very important to me because i have not contributed a great effort for a while to the wiki and i want to give it something special. Since the wiki can not embed Java / Flash for a construction planner. I am doing a little JS wizardry and making a planner calc for us in JS. But the calc.js is not enough power to make this work. SO i made a completely new script and was testing on my userspace. (under my personal js file) And i found out it does not parse yet. So far i can get everything done and such. But that problem still exists. Yes its a great idea to have the unparsed one for the code box part but for now i need this. Thanks i seen you have not been active and i would greatly appreciate it if you could just come back and help for just this one time.

Thankyou in advanced.

HiScores Implamentation[edit source]

I've been looking through various versions of the hiscores implamentation and have came up with an idea to instead of having a bot or javascript file to update the hiscores data page, why not put a parser function into that page that will automatically update the data every time it is accessed. Would this be possible? If so, I would like to use it. Would that be possible through an extension that simply outputs the the long list of numbers on the lite hiscore page? Script Idea[edit source]

I came up with an idea for a simple script that will help me learn how to use jquery with the wiki. It is at User:Ameobea10/mostrecent.js. Its purpose is to add a link to the diff page with the most recent change of the page. However, it doesn't work. Even just trying to append something to the main title tag doesn't work for some reason. Can you help? Milestone cape (50).pngAmeobea10Talk Contribs #Virtus mask.png 21:25, June 6, 2011 (UTC)

Chrome extension feedback[edit source]

Hey, there is currently a problem with the Chrome extension, as the price checker gives a parsing error every time I want to check the price. I have asked others, and they have the same problem. I hope you have time to fix this asap. Thanks, JOEYTJE50TALKpull my finger 19:22, June 27, 2011 (UTC)

Hiscore Auto update not working[edit source]

My hiscores have not updated in a long time and I do not know why. They just randomly quit updating. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you. --Woodcutting-icon.png A.louis11*RSHT*(talk)|(contribs)Dragon hatchet.png 19:27, July 2, 2011 (UTC)

Adv log/Hiscore update[edit source]

Both my Adventurer's Log and Hiscores auto update have not been working, so you're not the only one having the problem. Pwcmptr 22:32, July 2, 2011 (UTC)

QBot database down?[edit source]

The QBot status seems to be showing database connection problems. Can you fix it so that QBot updates the user highscores and advanture logs again? Thanks.

I've modified AmauriceBot to temporarily update user highscore pages (if the pages are more than 20 hours overdue for update), but this runs less often QBot, and does not handle other updates, including the adventure logs, etc. Amaurice talk 13:33, July 3, 2011 (UTC)

Seems like QBot is down and even status page seems not to be up any more :( Avi.Kris 22:27, July 14, 2011 (UTC)

Qbot seems to be stuck with one adventureslog task for like 16 days already... Avi.Kris 08:12, July 15, 2011 (UTC)

Quarenon's last edit was in March and QBot's last edit was in June. I don't think Quarenon is going to fix the issue with QBot any time soon. MarkGyver (talk) 06:58, July 24, 2011 (UTC)

So no more highscores and A-log updates on RuneWiki? Darn it. And I thought I had done the template wrong because when I tried doing mine a few days ago, it didn't work.

I wish they would still fix it. =/

Amaurice updated AmauriceBot to handle highscores as of July 3rd and adventurer's logs as of about August 21st. However, his bot doesn't run as often as Quarenon's QBot used to (I think it's to give QBot priority when/if it starts again), so you might have to wait an extra day. Wikibot source[edit source]

For your wikibot script, do you think changing

private $logHandle = STDOUT;

private $logHandle = false;

and then adding a line to your contructor:

 if ( defined('STDOUT') ) $this->logHandle = STDOUT;

would be better? This allows people to run it from apache without any fiddling, and will default back to users running from a terminal. --H Fern [talk] 07:39, July 16, 2011 (UTC)

Javascript: Wikia Headache[edit source]

Hiya, you seem to be the most knowledgeable guy here at javascript. I figured I'd try and see if I could make a news item replacement that would be similar to how RuneScape's homepage works: you click on the header of the news and it expand it with a description and link. I'm normally very good with Javascript, and had it working on a locally saved page, but once I tried to put the code on the wiki everything fell apart. Firstly, I discovered that you apparently can't have an onclick HTML attribute. If you know some way to do that, it would make the rest far easier...

However, I doubt it's possible since Wikia seems to filter it out (admittingly, it would pose the potential for a security risk). So I figured I could add a bit of javascript that would modify the page to create the onclick attributes. However, it appear someone must hate me, as I cannot get even an alert() to work. I've tried both global.js and wikia.js, but not one piece of my custom code seems to get recognized. Surely a bare alert function not inside any loops or functions should work, yet it doesn't for me... I made sure I'm refreshing the pages bypassing the cache, and Javascript is most certainly enabled. Viewing the page's source, it's definitely loading the script, yet, seems to ignore everything.

I'm not looking for someone to hold my hand in this, just wondering if you might have any idea why even an alert function won't run in anything I try (not to mention my if statement, which checks for the presence of an ID in the document, which I've confirmed is 100% there, won't work either). The syntax is flawless and chrome won't give any errors. If it could be of use, the rest of the work is scattered on my sandbox and css, though the only problem's I'm having is with the Javascript.

Thanks for any help, Hofmic Talk 04:18, September 11, 2011 (UTC)

Your global js file is set here, not at this wiki. Ts4kNfA.png 04:21, September 11, 2011 (UTC)

I wonder...[edit source]

Is is possible to create a custom class for tags that can make them override the <nowiki> tag? If so, could you do it (of course if you agree with my proposal, no pressure or anything) - I heard you're the expert in this field. Broken Scripts?[edit source]

Auto-welcome and the Template drop-down box scripts aren't working, any idea as to why? Cleared cache on any browser being used, main one is Chrome of Windows 7. It worked until a few days ago when it just stopped. Blaze_fire.png12.png 16:09, July 18, 2012 (UTC)
