Re:Heads up[edit source]

Thanks. It's been so long since I made my welcome template that I didn't realise there were bad links in there. Small recharge gem.png AnselaJonla Slayer-icon.png 18:39, February 8, 2013 (UTC)

Dev Console[edit source]

That's pretty cool, man. Original research? MolMan 17:27, February 24, 2013 (UTC)

Cool. #expr isn't actually that hard. you can find documentation here (if you didn't know already). MolMan 17:39, February 24, 2013 (UTC)

PHAS thing[edit source]

Hey, that template you made? Yeah, it's a template, so I moved it to the template namespace. Small recharge gem.png AnselaJonla Slayer-icon.png 21:55, March 15, 2013 (UTC)

OK, thanks. My thinking was that a template only useful on a single page would hang off that page rather than being in global space, but if using global space is wiki convention, I can work with that. Qloque (talk) 22:17, March 15, 2013 (UTC)
There was precedent. Small recharge gem.png AnselaJonla Slayer-icon.png 22:23, March 15, 2013 (UTC)
Hey, can I ask you to take this to a sandbox and revert your edits? It's getting messy and the page is one of our better ones. MolMan 22:26, March 15, 2013 (UTC)
Does the current state work? Qloque (talk) 22:33, March 15, 2013 (UTC)
Yes, I just wasn't sure how long it would take you to get it to a presentable state. It looks fine now. MolMan 22:34, March 15, 2013 (UTC)
Can you explain how to safely use this editor? My first commit at 22:19 had clean table format. When I opened to replace a few bullets and quotation marks which had gotten dropped and saved, the editor also deleted all lines with any of {|, |-, |}. ??? Qloque (talk) 22:41, March 15, 2013 (UTC)
I'm not sure I am able to diagnose the problem exactly... You are using source though, right? MolMan 22:44, March 15, 2013 (UTC)
Yes, source. Just opened the page for edit again, and the table formatting again all disappeared. -.- Qloque (talk) 22:50, March 15, 2013 (UTC)
Either I don't understand what you're saying or you're experiencing a really odd bug. So you just open the editor and it removed stuff? MolMan 22:52, March 15, 2013 (UTC)
I open the editor (visual mode), click the source tab, and the editor has already silently made changes. I've seen this multiple times, though not as dramatically as the PHAS page--both deletions, and additions (mostly whitespace). Qloque (talk) 22:58, March 15, 2013 (UTC)
Okay, you'll want to go to your preferences, go to editing and you can see a box that always disables visual editor automatically. ^.^ MolMan 22:59, March 15, 2013 (UTC)
Thanks, done. Still, seems a dangerous tool... Qloque (talk) 23:02, March 15, 2013 (UTC)
You'll never have to pass by the Visual Editor again now :D Which means you shouldn't experience this sort of bug. MolMan 23:03, March 15, 2013 (UTC)

Christmas tree hat[edit source]

I have no idea. I wouldn't have a problem with it if he didn't 'think' he was being smart. ʞooɔ 19:43, April 20, 2013 (UTC)

RE:Maps[edit source]

O, LOL. I didn't see that you uploaded them just now. I saw one of the maps miscategorized so I whipped up a list to check anything that could match fairy ring codes and added categories. I was wondering why everything I added had no category :P MolMan 15:14, April 27, 2013 (UTC)

FYI, I usually let people categorize their own images, especially if I know they're of the smarter breed like you. MolMan 15:34, April 27, 2013 (UTC)
Sorry to bother you again, but it's morning for me and I'm still tired. After rereading what I said there, it kinda sounded sarcastic and condescending to me. I just want to confirm that it's not, and that I genuinely think you're a smart guy. MolMan 15:40, April 27, 2013 (UTC)

Fairy ring map[edit source]

I liked the old map better because it had all the fairy ring codes right on the map. Could you perhaps add the codes to the new map? --Wikitiki89 (talk) 15:16, May 17, 2013 (UTC)

Re:Wall Beasts map[edit source]

My suggestion would be to change the maps yourself, remove all links to the new map and tag the new image for deletion, instead of babbling at some guy who probably doesn't know what you're going on about and just saw a way to help. Small recharge gem.png AnselaJonla Slayer-icon.png 12:45, May 27, 2013 (UTC)

Very nice job on the Lumbridge swamp caves map. I was going to email the original uploader to send me a copy to redo but it seems you've already fixed it perfectly. ^-^ sssSp7p.pngIjLCqFF.png 23:53, May 27, 2013 (UTC)

Map:Brimhaven Agility Arena[edit source]

The imagemaping on Map:Brimhaven Agility Arena seems messed up. Can you fix it? Thanks, — Jr Mime (talk) 13:11, June 9, 2013 (UTC)

What are the numbers on the right side of each item in the legend? sssSp7p.pngIjLCqFF.png 16:08, June 9, 2013 (UTC)
Hmm. Maybe put them all in parenthesis, and in the first one put xp. So like (0 xp) then (6), etc. sssSp7p.pngIjLCqFF.png 17:13, June 9, 2013 (UTC)
There are no standards for mining maps. I think the best thing to do would be to keep the map at 100% zoom and copy over sprites for the rocks. Using the original rock sprites might not be a good idea though, they look a bit odd. Maybe taking a picture of an empty rock in-game and downsizing it and coloring it could work? Or creating a new rock-shaped icon (not necessarily circular) specifically for mining rocks like I did with the dungeoneering/fairy ring icons. But we definitely need to update our mining maps, they are a core part of maps on other fansites. I'm not sure if we should update the dungeon maps that we've already done or simply link them to the individual mining area map though (Map:Edgeville Dungeon for example).
Also it appears we are under the RS:BUG again. sssSp7p.pngIjLCqFF.png 20:53, June 9, 2013 (UTC)
On second thought, linking the mining areas on current maps to their specific mining article and creating their own maps would probably be best. sssSp7p.pngIjLCqFF.png 20:54, June 9, 2013 (UTC)

Re: Dwarven Shopping Store[edit source]

I also added a redirect for Hura's Crossbow Shop, as the page didn't exist originally. IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 10:47, June 13, 2013 (UTC)

nbsp[edit source]

How are you finding those non-breaking spaces? No offense, but you're probably not being efficient :P

I can give you the syntax for a DPL I was just using that read pages for nbsp if you'd like to confirm+replace/remove all these nbsps. I stop because I got bored. MolMan 15:45, June 22, 2013 (UTC)

<dpl>
resultsheader = %PAGES% found / %TOTALPAGES% total
namespace= Main
include = *
includematch = `&nbsp`
tablerow = - ([ edit])
format = ,\n*%PAGE% ,
offset =
</dpl>
So the way this works is kinda simple: Basically it just finds the first 500 pages and reads all of their contents (include = *). It then lists any page where it finds the &nbsp. You can't tell because it's only a string literal here, but includematch= uses regex. So basically it'll list only what it finds out of the 500; if none have it, it'll show nothing. If it shows nothing, there were no matches and you should increment the offset by 500. Right here it's blank which is just 0. I guess you can do the File namespace if you want, but it'd be best to clean up the mainspace first. If you (hopefully) decide to do Main, I stopped at an offset of 3000.
My understanding is that you know coding stuff (what languages and with what proficiency I have no idea) but know kinda nothing about the more complex mediawiki things. Is that correct? Regardless, if you don't know dpl yet, you could probably learn it easily. MolMan 15:57, June 22, 2013 (UTC)
Yay, you're doing the kg stuff too :). If you want that searched for too, I'd change the regex to include #107. Also, I probably shouldn't base my measurement of your mediawiki knowledge on a small statement you made about learning #expr from 4 months ago. lol MolMan 16:09, June 22, 2013 (UTC)
Hyphens and en dashes look exactly the same in the source code >:| That seems to have gotten both of us. MolMan 17:08, June 22, 2013 (UTC)
lol; it ain't too bad MolMan 20:39, June 22, 2013 (UTC)

Template:InvAmount[edit source]

Links are outshone by the number amounts in the upper left corner. And z-index doesn't work unfortunately. I'd also like to make the picture first for the parameters.

So I think we need to change the syntax to be Filename without brackets or the word File

such that this will make the text {{#if:{}|}} and {{#if:{}|{link}{}|{}}}

Unless you know something else that could work? I ain't too good with css. MolMan 16:56, June 23, 2013 (UTC)

Ya but you edited it last and probably have an idea on how to do this. MolMan 01:07, June 24, 2013 (UTC)

Re:br tags[edit source]

As you have different results to me, I did about as in-depth testing as I could think of short of finding multiple OSs to test this on. My initial tests were using inspect element of Chrome, Firebug's inspect element and IE9's view page source.

For my test case I have used rv 8281156 using <br>, <br/> and <br />. You can view the raw source of the page here, taking advantage of action=raw. This we shall take as our wikitext, before it is parsed. I have used jQuery.browser to return the browser and version on Chrome and Firefox, and the "about" option of Internet Explorer.

 • In Chrome's inspect element the source of the page is shown to contain unescaped br tags, as you can see here. The result of jQuery.browser is {chrome: true, version: "27.0.1453.110", webkit: true}.
 • Using the page source of the same version of Chrome returns escaped br tags, as seen here.
 • Using the inspect element function of the Firebug extension for Firefox, br tags are unescaped as seen here. The object result of jQuery.browser is { mozilla=true, version="21.0"} (invalid object syntax?).
 • Using the inspect element function native to Firefox, same version as above, br tags are shown as <br ></br> as seen here.
 • Using the view page source function of Firefox, again the same version, br tags are escaped as seen here.
 • Using Internet Explorer's view page source function, br tags are escaped as seen here. The version of IE used is 9.0.8112.16421.

You can draw your own conclusions from this on which result is actually used by the browser and if they should be converted by the bot to a specific syntax, if it should replace them at all. However, seeing as this is not my bot I have no say in what the bot ultimately does. I believe it may have already been removed. cqm 21:19, 23 Jun 2013 (UTC) (UTC)

I don't even.

But if you do you can feel free to explain it. I don't do Map editing so I'd have no idea. :P

Image bug[edit source]

Can you reupload your version of this image? Wikia never updated it. sssSp7p.pngIjLCqFF.png 01:12, September 2, 2013 (UTC)

This one too. sssSp7p.pngIjLCqFF.png 01:13, September 2, 2013 (UTC)
I was recently going through our map files and apparently you and I uploaded several map images on the same day (June 6th or something), and NONE of them were updated for me - not mine, not yours. So I assume the server was buggy on that day or something. We haven't gotten to the point where we have to delete the old image and upload a brand new image. The bug can still be fixed if we just reupload a few days later after the bug is "gone", it's just a matter of realizing the image is bugged or not. :P sssSp7p.pngIjLCqFF.png 18:02, September 2, 2013 (UTC)

Rift vs Drift[edit source]

I guess whoever made that map got mixed up between Orks Rift and the (in)famous real life location of Rorke's Drift. Small recharge gem.png AnselaJonla Slayer-icon.png 13:58, April 20, 2014 (UTC)

Re: Adamant helm (h5)[edit source]

If you are sure, remove the sentence again. I re-added it because the stats stated in adamant helm (h5) and adamant full helm are identical (req. 40 Defence & providing 125 armour). If they are not identical, at least one of those articles is (still) incorrect. IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 11:31, June 5, 2015 (UTC)

In that case, care to correct the infobox? ^^ . Strange though, I wonder if this is intentional or an oversight from one of the times they changed the combat system/calculations. IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 11:33, June 5, 2015 (UTC)

Enakhra's Temple[edit source]

Hey, it looks like both you and LDemonl made versions of the Enakhra's Temple map, here and here, due to some confusion about the file names. They both ended up being highly similar, but obviously we can only have one. Can you two figure out which one to keep, or whether parts of one should be merged into the other? Thanks. ʞooɔ 20:21, June 14, 2015 (UTC)

Re: Mrs. Winkin[edit source]

I'm not completely sure; perhaps I'm wrong, but it seems bad format to make a page for the imagemap by playing with caps in the pagename. IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 02:54, July 5, 2015 (UTC)
