For the goals, you need something like {{goal|Skill=Farming|Goal=79|Xp=1837340}}

Re: Money Making[edit source]

I'm not sure of a good way of making money at your level. My first good money making wasn't until I got 32 farming and could farm ranarrs (buying seeds and making prayer pots to sell). Amaurice talk 11:32, 20 December 2008 (UTC)

Another option for you (since your working on smithing anyway) would be to make steel bars. You could buy the iron and coal and make into steel bars which you then sell for a profit. If you use the west falador bank and the furnace near it, then it's not too far to run between the two. Amaurice talk 17:13, 23 December 2008 (UTC)
Yes, making cannon balls from the steel bars would work well. You could go to the furnace with 1 cannon mold, 9 iron and 18 coal. Then make 9 bars, then make into cannon balls. Then run back to bank. Amaurice talk 19:28, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

Re: Transparency[edit source]

Actually that's an image i would not normally want to touch to apply transparency to due to the anti-aliasing contained within it. However, i've been contemplating how to better deal with it, so soon as i learn how, i'll give it a go. ~kytti khat 23:33, 10 January 2009 (UTC)

Re: Above post by Kytti khat[edit source]

PNG images actually support something called alpha transparency. Alpha transparency allows for translucent pixels to be created, meaning that the portion along the anti-aliased edge can have a varying degree of opacity. I'll get to work on updating the image ASAP. (It's still best to get a new image without anti-aliasing, however.) Supertech1 TCE 23:39, 10 January 2009 (UTC)

Woodcutting[edit source]

The fastest experience is cutting teaks, followed by willows. I used to cut teaks in the tao village enclosed area (requires payment of 100 trading sticks to get in). If cutting willows, there are some just south of draynor bank so banking them is easy.

I used dragon axe for cutting, until the "all fired up" quest came out and it was possible to get inferno azre. The inferno requires 91 firemaking to get, but I used it over dragon axe because it burnt 30% of logs (so saved me dropping so many).

I did use the lumberjack too, because that gives some extra experience. To get the lumberjack, you need to play the temple trekking minigame (and the one in the reverse direction, but cant remember the name). Using he easy route with the strongest characters meant poor rewards, but did allow me to skip most random encounters and only do the ones I wanted (the zombie ones that give the lumberjack drops). It took 2 or 3 hours to get all parts of the lumberjack.

I also used beaver familiars. These give +2 woodcutting boost, so cut slightly faster. The also give experience for the logs they also get themselves. At higher levels, willows gave about 55k per hour, and teaks gave about 70k per hour. Amaurice talk 01:46, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

The beaver and lumberjack just speed it up a bit. If you haven't got them then it's not much of a problem. I personally found it easier with beavers because I would measure my time in beavers. Each beaver would last 27 minutes and I tried to get 30k xp for each beaver. The overall experience difference with them is less than 10%. Amaurice talk 14:12, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Re: No Forums?[edit source]

Not sure if anything happened to them. They seem okay now. Maybe the Wikia team were moving something around and temporarily broke it. Anyway seems find now. :-) Amaurice talk 23:11, 21 April 2009 (UTC)

RE: Hunter[edit source]

Hey. I'm not going for 99 (at least not at the moment), I'm just participating in the Countdown to 99 competition (I'd reccomed checking out the rules etc on the page there). Most of my hunter training up to 57 was thanks to the Tears of Guthix, since it was my (joint) lowest skill. I do remember deadfalling Barb-tailed kebbits for awhile though. I caught about 4 normal chinchompas and got bored and quit hunter for over a year, until recently.

At 57, when I started training properly, I tried out the Penguin Hunting Area - a reward from the Hunt for Red Raktuber quest - as it was new at the time. I net-trapped the Penguins (250 experience each, level 50 required). The experience there is quite fast, but you get no monetary return whatsoever, although I low-alchemised the normal penguins with my explorer's ring for 16 coins each (better than nothing), keeping the Kgp agents for bonus experience (something like 2⅓ experience per agent - every little helps). I wore Kyatt hunter gear as I believe it helps.

At level 69 I decided to go to Carnivorous chinchompas. The experience per chinchompa is a little higher than per penguin, and in general you catch more chinchompas per hour than penguins, so the experience rate is higher. I'm told that this is a good setup of traps to maximise experience rate (although I'm skeptical):

× ×
× ×

The central one is for once you can set 5 traps (level 80). Using Larupia hunter gear helps, as does wielding a bow/crossbow with no arrows/bolts (so you cannot accedentally attack them; remember the crystal bow won't work for this; if you want to use Ava's attractor/accumulator you should use a crossbow so to not fire the arrows).

I'm level 73 hunter right now, and plan to stay at the carnivorous chinchompas for a long time (possibly hunting some implings).

General stuff: The quickest way to get to penguins is via the fairy rings (code: DKS); other than that a Enchanted lyre teleport is fairly close, as is a teleport to house (if your house is in Relleka). For regular chinchompas (if you want to use them), fairy ring AKQ is right there; other methods include using a Spirit kyatt to teleport there, or walking from the Tree Gnome Stronghold or Ardougne. Carnivorous chinchompas (and/or Barbtailed kebbits) is quick with fairy ring AKS; you could also charter a ship to Oo'glog (after As a First Resort...), or use any of the method of getting to Mobilising Armies (Ring of duelling, Spirit tree, Mobilising Armies teleport).

I hope that huge passage helps! Don't hesitate to ask me anything else Smile Quest.png Gaz Lloyd 7:^]Events!99s 21:46, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

Anytime. Normal chinchompas I couldn't say, but red chins are fairly good. I can catch about 180 per 2 magpies (the summoning familiar I always use - thats 67.5 mins; works out to be the equivalent of 160 per hour), so thats about Expression error: Unrecognised punctuation character ",". coins per hour - not bad. I believe (if you have some good locators) Dragon implings make a lot more, but require a lot higher hunter level (83) and are quite rare. Re:RFA[edit source]

For helpful information the RFA page and its unofficial guide are available. In short the community looks for active counter-vandals who participate in community discussion (such as at VFD, VFU, AOTM, UOTM, or the Yew Grove) and having a respectable number of edits helps as well (many users like to see 1000+ mainspace edits).--

Since you didn't seem to want to listen to Winston I will answer (yes I'm a forum admin too). There is no set criteria for forum admin, but I would highly recommend waiting before trying an RfF because your post count is rather low and I haven't seen much forum involvement besides the occasional post. Well, I just suggest you start talking on the forums a lot, become well-known, and be nice to people, and that's about all you need. Much easier than real adminship. 22:34, 12 July 2009 (UTC)

Re:Tormented Wraith[edit source]

They DO hit high, hitting on the high 20's and accuratelly, and you have to use black metal even to range them, making safespotting with ranged innacurate, and the safes don`t work, so I'd reccomend you to wait till jagex fixes the safes and use a black hally. Either that or you could use prayer on them, but that'll cut your profits a lot. Quest point cape detail.png Brux Talk 00:29, September 27, 2009 (UTC)

It's because YOU can't attack them if you don't use the black armour, they're immune to anyone and anyone is immune to them if the player doesn't use black armour, and ranging doesn't cancel that, nor does magic... And you can't change equips while they're alive/attacking you, don't forget that. Quest point cape detail.png Brux Talk 00:51, September 27, 2009 (UTC)
