Heyy, I've also been having problems with the wiki not displaying images properly too. Over time, I realized that if you leave an image for long enough, it'll display what it should display. I'm absolutely certain that I did not shrink the image - I definitely cropped it. I'm going to re-upload a cropped version rather than revert it just incase. If it appears to be shrunk, just trust me and leave it. It'll display properly if you give it a couple of hours. Blasty Talk 13:16, December 4, 2010 (UTC)

Please fix your signature[edit source]

Have a look at this edit you just made. Most of the characters added in the edit are the raw form of your sig; this practice unnecessarily bloats pages and your signature won't update as you change it.

Do the following:

99 Fletch![edit source]

I'm gonna get my second 99 on Sunday, and I'm gonna be holding a party for it :)

Not only me, but my friend Fishie is gonna be getting a 99! However, he's gonna get 99. First, we'll be meeting in Taverley, north of Falador and halfway between the two Skillcape salesmen who sell the cape for the respective skills.

The Plan[edit source]

Alrighty, first, we're gonna meet up in a spot between Catherby and the Saradomin statue north of Falador. Fishie is going to chop the log he needs for 99 WC, and then give it to me, and I'm going to fletch that into a normal longbow and string it for 99 fletch.

After that, we'll proceed to get our capes, and then meet up in the Grand Exchange for a five-minute period of showing off our capes, and just having general fun. Finally, we'll meet up at the Rimmington house portal and all go into my POH and have fun, killing each other in my dungeon/combat/ranging rings or playing a game of darts.

Hey, your recent equipped item images look nice, however they look kind of awkward when viewed from their rear-viewing angle. Would you please take them from an angle more like this, or this? Thanks Walrus068 21:42, May 16, 2011 (UTC)

I think the angle of the 2nd image is better than the first image btw. Slight front view is just more natural. Also I would like to ask you to use Anti Aliasing if your computer supports that, and if it does, use the transparency method explained on this guide. Anti Aliasing shows more detail of something, which is better when used on the wiki. If your computer does not support Anti Aliasing, don't worry, images without AA are still good. Hi Metapig, thanks for the message. Updating the bestiary has been on my to do list for a while, but I've never quite gotten around to it. The way I see it, if we get all of the monster pages updated, it's trivial to make the bestiary correct (and we could even make it dynamic). I have a list of all of the monsters and their levels, and for those in the bestiary, their skill levels, lifepoints, and experience (although the experience is incorrect). You can see it here. The hard part of the bestiary situation is how to deal with monsters that have the same name but multiple levels. For starters, we can do all of the monsters for which there's only one by that name (count = 1). Let me know what you think, but hold off on actually adding that info for a little while until I can confirm a bit more of it. Thanks! ʞooɔ 23:46, April 7, 2015 (UTC)

The syntax for switch infoboxes is potentially much simpler if we use the Infobox monster multi. I agree with you that for large numbers of monsters this isn't the way to go -- the options are splitting the page off even further (which is a good idea for something like skeletons), or having a table later on the page that encodes all of the unique information about a given level of a monster (level, lifepoints, experience, skills, weakness..), which is probably the way to go for something like forgotten warriors. I would like to use a template for that instead of just a table, so the information from it can be more easily extracted. Combat experience is complicated, but I think we kind of have a handle on it -- see my post here. I can do an adjustment to the experience given by the bestiary to get what is the correct experience amount for about 90% of monsters. I feel confident enough in that to put the derived experience value on the pages, because even when it's incorrect, it's better than nothing.
My intended plan for this is to create a set of rules for how to deal with monsters with multiple levels -- that is, when to split the page, when to use the switch infobox, when to use a data table, and when to ignore the differences altogether. If we have a codified way to handle that, I think things will be much easier. We can also start adding the relevant data to some monster pages, marking them off on the spreadsheet as we go. I think it makes sense to start with monsters of which there's only one type, where it's clear what should be done. We can just sort of chip away at the bestiary spreadsheet until there's nothing left. A ton of it is just going to be copying data from the spreadsheet to pages, and splitting/switchinfoboxing things that need it. There are also some monsters that unfortunately aren't in the bestiary, but those are relatively rare and we can go find them in the game to confirm things. If we have a clear set of rules about when things should be split, it should be pretty easy for you and I to do this, but you'll probably have some questions.
If you're a non-member, I can get you a bond if you are willing to help a bunch with this project. As for where the data came from, it's from combining two different sources -- one is a dump of the official bestiary data, and the other is an NPC list that is generated from the game cache. And no need to apologize for textwalls -- I'm a rather big fan of them myself. I'm not sure that an input box is the way to go -- it should be clear which levels/versions are available, without having to enter all possible combinations...and sometimes, especially for Dungeoneering monsters, there are distinct versions of monsters that have the same level. For the experience, yes, it would be nice to check every monster, but I feel more comfortable having numbers that I know are correct 90% of the time instead of waiting for us to test all of them (which isn't really possible, even). It's very hard for a bot to copy the information from the spreadsheet, unfortunately...there are too many weird things going on with summoning familiars, switch infoboxes, disambiguated page's something we could semi-automate, but fully automating it is probably not possible.
I'm certainly in favor of making the overall bestiary and monster pages better -- it's just not always clear what that means. Do you have any suggestions for how to obtain exact drop rates for things? The charm logs are sort of a mess for a variety of reasons (one of which is that they aren't separated enough by different monsters), but they also get vandalized and have some possibly biased data. The best I can do for most drop rates is RuneScape:Data/Adventurer's Logs (18 September 2012). As for strategy, I certainly agree, but it's hard to get people to write strategy pages, especially in any standardized way. Or there are certain people who are absolute shit kids at the boss who think they're good and ruin the page. And the people like me who are actually good can't be bothered trying to fight with them over control of the article. Not naming any names, but I'm sure Cook knows who I mean. Sadly it's just certain people don't learn and are insistent that their contributions are good even when they're terrible, not accepted by the majority of the PvM community, and sometimes blatantly incorrect. I prefer keeping complete creative control of strategies I write for this reason. I had the mainspace Araxxor strategies halfway up to par once upon a time, but then those kind of people came in. No, I understand. It's just certain people are persistently bad. That's why I try my best to just not bother and instead just forgo improving those pages all together. There are some people who think I'm out to get them when I revert a bunch of their edits, even though I only did so because they were all simply bad. It's not that I think these people have bad intentions, I just think they have bad information. And it's been extremely difficult to communicate with them such. One person in particular is one of these subpar editors, and on top of that, an extremely annoying and terrible troll. He's why I have to vent a little on this topic. And ya, my Araxxor guide sure is a piece of work. I mainly wrote it for certain people because I got tired of explaining myself over and over and over. They are used to my vulgarity, and it entertained them a little; my goal. I actually had it deleted a while ago because it was terribly out of date and wasn't something I could be bothered with updating. Only had it recently undeleted because people kept asking for it. But I mainly linked it because 1) It's my only pvm guide, 2) it's a great example of what I said about creative control. If you'd like to let me redeem myself a little, User:The Mol Man/GIMP is probably the most helpful guide I've written in my userspace (not that I've written many). Frequently viewed images, or those with the potential to be, tend to get transed rather quickly, especially if they're rather simple, like most non-TH non-SGS low-mid level weapons and armour tend to be. The category will never get cleared out without people like you, who are willing to put in the time and effort to figuring out how to get those trickier ones done. Well, for lower levels they might be dangerous, I dunno. Certainly prayer won't hurt you, and I reckon it's better to have it than not to, but I'll leave that to your discretion now. And, well, yes, the colour wheel is unnecessary if you've memorised it, but otherwise it's your point of reference for which colours are one another's complementaries (as the system doesn't really correspond to irl colours), thus allowing you to complete the puzzle. Unless following the guide word-by-word without thinking, but I doubt everybody would do that. I use islands 1,2,13 for the levels 65-90; with visits to islands 16 or 32 for the Skulls node. After 77, I camped at 16 and 17 until 90 where I focused on Blood pools, Skulls and at 83, Bloody skulls. At 90+ I used islands 32,30,29 and 27 where I hopped around them for any nodes better than skulls+. I focused on the esswraiths when nodes are gone, and only helped the yellow wizard if he's on one of the mentioned islands or within 1 island of the above. --Jlun2 (talk) 03:32, September 14, 2015 (UTC)

Monster data[edit source]

Hey, I think we're finally going to pull the trigger and get to work on the new monster infoboxes. I can't remember how much I told you, but we have a lot more monster data than before, and we're planning to completely redesign the monster infobox to look like this. We'll also take this time to split out multiple monsters in a much more convenient way, making use of inline switch-infoboxes that Mol and Gaz and I created recently. Does that sound interesting to you? Want to help? A lot of this can be semi-automated, but there's still a fair amount of work just filling in stats. One concrete thing would be to figure out how accurate our monster experience values are. I've figured out the formula that the RuneScape Bestiary uses to calculate xp (, but unfortunately the bestiary doesn't always line up with the real game. What I'd need is for someone to go kill a bunch of random monsters (like just go through Taverley Dungeon and kill one of everything), noting down how much combat (non-Constitution) experience it gives, hopefully with no boosts active. If I get a wide variety of values, that might narrow down the underlying problem, so we can have fully accurate XP values on the infoboxes. ʞooɔ 13:12, October 26, 2015 (UTC)
