All fired up minigame[edit source]

Please have a look at talk page for All Fired Up (minigame) article. There is no experience awarded for logs used for lighting the beacons, it is only exp for beacons and bonus exp. Checkout also runescape knowledge base. I don't think the exp table for logs used for beacons should stay. Only times should be left. I don't have the time to cleanup the article myself at the moment, will do probably this evening if you have not already done it. Golduin 08:41, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

software suggestions[edit source]

Do you have any suggestions for AVI to GIF conversion software? (preferably GNU open source) If not could you take a couple of lossless AVIs for the farming and quest cape emotes in HD and convert them using your Adobe software. curiously ~kytti khat 08:23, 21 September 2008 (UTC)

that's like a bummer, totally... those are the only 2 skill capes i have, as i said i can capture into lossless avi file, however, it all has to be downsized to 255 colours and gif-ified. meh. ~kytti khat 15:53, 21 September 2008 (UTC)
well hands down lumberjack is relevant to the wc skillcape, but what's relevant to the quest cape? <sarcasm>oh, i know how about every unique one of a kind quest reward thingy,</sarcasm> um, that could come off rather quite distasteful, i'm thinking colour coordinated would be good, btw as you may or may not be aware, i'm rarely seen wearing the same thing twice.
So... suggestions? right now i'm playing with an undocumented animated gif capturer from codeplex (codeplex.com/cropper and the animated gif plugin is at codeplex.com/cropperplugins), codeplex is too microsoft for my taste (i'm just not getting that gnu and improved feeling that i like so much). regardless the widget seems capable although it seems quirky how it interacts with that vista glass (shards lol). I'll send you a couple of avi captures (from camstudio which has a lovely lossless avi codec that i use for grabbing the best of screen captures). the first takes are en route (zipped into a nearly 9mb file, did i mention the lossless part). If nothing else i'm imagining you can just recapture them and compress them like you did yours however, there is no padding and both are 200px wide. Let me know what you think there's always more bandwidth that can be spent in the creation process, just so long as the output is nice and tiny for the end users... ~kytti khat 18:28, 21 September 2008 (UTC)

my monitor is one of the newer ones 1440x900 so i play windowed but use up most of the screen for it (maybe say 1300x800), i'm still thinking i can get a smoother quest cape capture, my guess is some background process consumed cpu time so the original capture didn't come out as smooth as the farming capture. ~kytti khat 07:56, 22 September 2008 (UTC)

The beacon Network[edit source]

I have read JAgex's article [http://www.runescape.com/kbase/viewarticle.ws?article_id=790] and the data are different from my experience !

Try to lit on beacon and compare the exp with what is written on Jagex site...the experience gained is different !!!! I have reported it on jagex's site...

PS: In fact all fired up is not a minigame [http://www.runescape.com/kbase/viewcategory.ws?cat_id=10], it is the beacon network...as said by Jagex ;)

By the way, on Jagex site [http://www.runescape.com/kbase/viewarticle.ws?article_id=788], they talk about "Ability to test the beacon network for further rewards", they are not talking of a minigame... Animation Question[edit source]

Matt, how do you convert your WMV to GIF? I use Camtasia Gif thingy to convert but it converts it to a picture and not an animation. Can you help? I have some to edit on here.--Boilar 12:23, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

Well I have a link through my Userpage. And there's only one option, after you open the camrec file > click produce as > custom production settings > GIF > then I did preview it shows it as a picture, also if I produce it. :S--Boilar 14:13, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

I only check birds nests that have seeds (in case they are good seeds), but otherwise I ignore them. Given that I'm not really interested in the profit, I decided not to wear the rabbit foot, so I have fewer nests to be tempted to check.

Re: Summoning Plans[edit source]

I don't have my Summon Plans page. However, it can be restored on the Wiki. If you want, I could restore it and then move it under your user and you can take ownership of it (and do what you want with it). You would probably want to go through the history to get an earlier version as I deleted lower level familiars as I gained levels. Let me know if you want the page itself, and I'll do it.

Generally, it's just a case of making the highest level familiars that you can for each charm. However, for the gold ones, I think the cost of xp was high for the top ones, so I just stuck with terrorbirds with them (and the terrorbirds are useful for run anyway). The xp per charm is roughly 1.3 x level for gold, 1.75 x level for green, 4.4 x level for crimson and 8.8 x level for blue.

The only other particularly expensive ones I remember were the Minotaurs. This is because the cost of the tertiary component. So don't make those (unless you want to make a few for fun). You can check profit/loss on the Calculators/Pouches page.

When doing summoning, use the Spirit kyatt teleport method (with either glories or dueling rings). It's possible to make about 2000 pouches per hour using this method, so the time spent summoning is not long compared with getting the charms. I used to get charms for a week, then spend about 1 hour making up at the end of the week. You can either make your own Spirit kyatt pouches, or buy them.

When fighting the waterfiends, I would suggest good protection against magic armour and use protection from ranged. I used armadyl armour, but black dragon hide should work well too. Other armour was to maximise damage (e.g. dragon boots, barrows gloves, etc.).

Do not do the waterfiends in the chaos tunnels as it is multicombat and you take damage fast (I did try it but decided not worth doing there).

You cannot take familiars into the ancient cavern, but you can take pouches, so take bunyip. When you can take unicorns, use those instead because you can get heal of 10.5 per minute (for 99 HP level) rather than 8 per minute from bunyips. That's because the unicorn heal gives 14 HP and uses 1/3 of the bar, which recharges in 4 minutes, so every 4 minutes can do up to 3 x 14 HP healing. Using the familiars special does not disrupt your attacks, so no time loss there.

Also use a healing sword if you can. I used an SGS and did not need any food. Make sure you take a single click escape (e.g. teletablet, etc). Sometimes you need to use the single click escape if you get a random just before you want to leave (so the waterfiends get aggressive again).

You can fight the waterfiends near the entrance, but can be popular area. Alternatively, fight the waterfiends by the west wall (past the brutal green dragons). You will need to use anti-dragon shield (or DFS) to get past them (and I used protect magic when running past them).

If you've not been in the ancient caverns before, you could just take black dragon hide armour and anti-dragon shield (no expensive stuff) and quick teleport and just scout it out first.

I see you've found the page. It acts as the row template (the include part at the start) as well as the page itself. If you edit the template itself, you sometimes need to update the page again for it to pick up on it. The colours of the rows was simply Green if I could make them, but Yellow if I was more than 5 levels above (so might be better using charms on other familiars for better xp). You can get back some of the older familiar by going into the history, then doing an "Edit" and copy the content part you want. I suggest around April to get all the ones you want. I noticed that some of the familiars give expression errors, this is usually because people have incorrectly checked in changes for the GE prices for teriary components. Looking at the teriary components, for the 18th April version (in case you use that one) the "Bagged plant" is now "Bagged plant 1", so that will need renaming in the table (to get rid of it's expression error). Similarly, the "Granite (500g)" needs changing to "Granite 500g", and the "Yak hide" needs changing to "Yak-hide". Amaurice talk 12:48, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
Fixed. You just needed to add in the ParseHighscoreData. The older versions of the page used to use another format of highscore data that required conversion before it could be added to the skill data page. With the creation of ParseHighscoreData, it allows the skill data to be copied directly from the Runescape site. I also changed the link to "my slayer page" to link to your page too. Re: Quick question re: Summoning[edit source]

When I got to 85 summoning, I made only 200 Lava Titans because that was my estimate of what I needed to get 99 mining. I stopped after that because I didn't want to bother spending the time getting the obby charms that are also needed. I then left the rest until I got 89 summoning for the Geyser. Once you get to 89 summoning, then always make the Geyser Titans as they are the best XP for the blue ones. Amaurice talk 21:03, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
