Price direction[edit source]

In reply to User talk:Jr Mime#Request

The 'Exchange:' page of each page lists the current price, and also the previous price of that item. Using those two, you can determine which direction the price went with the last GE update.

You can use this to determine whether the price is the same, a bit larger, a lot larger, smaller, or a lot smaller. The following code will show = for when there's no price change, for when the price went down, and when it went up.

Currently there is no way to view the change per day, but since you can assume the GE is updated basically daily, you can assume the diff represents the change in 1 day. Using that, you can calculate a relative price change, and use that to display multiple arrows for fast changes:

    {{#ifexpr: ({{#var:diff}}/({{#var:cur}}-{{#var:diff}})) < -0.02|'''↓↓'''|'''↓'''}}
      {{#ifexpr: ({{#var:diff}}/({{#var:cur}}-{{#var:diff}})) > -0.02|'''↑↑'''|'''↑'''}}

That way, it will show 2 arrows for a change larger than 2% of the previous price. The previous price is calculated by taking the current price and subtracting the difference.

I used template:Var in the code samples, because if you do plan on creating large lists like the one on User:Cook Me Plox/Merchanting guide/List, you probably want the code to execute as fast as possible, and it's slightly faster to get the information you need one time and storing it in a variable, than to get the information repeatedly (causing the code to have to revisit the page repeatedly).

If there's anything else you'd like to ask, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page. JOEYTJE50TALKpull my finger 23:42, January 14, 2015 (UTC)

RS:DEU[edit source]

That isn't your page, please don't edit it. MolMan 21:21, March 27, 2015 (UTC)

If you want to try experimenting, you can copy the code and put it on your own page here MolMan 21:32, March 27, 2015 (UTC)

re[edit source]

Sorry from what I see that looks super illegal. I don't want to get arrested, sorry. If you wanna try, I suggest going into incognito mode so no one can catch you. MolMan 12:43, April 10, 2015 (UTC)

AFK[edit source]

What exactly are you trying to do with that redirect? It shouldn't have any content besides the redirect link, and it's not really an appropriate term to have its own article... MolMan 21:50, July 16, 2015 (UTC)
