Just so you know. I'm not joking about the Oligarchy label :), another one that was used by vandals and trolls was, 'all the admins were communists'. (The original tagline to my userpage was "Adding a colourful splash of fascism to the communism of this wiki." after I became an sysop).-- 22:05, April 6, 2010 (UTC)
Considering back when we actually had trolls, the words fascism, Nazi, and communist were all used interchangeably as insults it just goes to show how well they understood or cared about the meaning of the words. In times gone by, it wasn't uncommon to see a 'crat support or oppose an RfA and have an active part in its outcome and be the same person to close said request. Re:Libertarianism/Conservatism

I'm going to assume you watch Glenn Beck (correct me if I'm wrong).

Libertarians emphasize freedom (ranges from anarcho-principles to Minarchism) while conservatives tend to focus nearly exclusively on economic issues, a major part of Libertarians is also social issues (same-sex marriage, separation of church and state, free market values etc.). Now, while many of the conservatives have finally gone back to advocating for a balanced, responsible budget (fiscal conservatism), they also tend to advance a social agenda often an affront to social liberties (Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Hannity...). A graph I've always liked when describing theses things can be found here.

Also, keep in mind there are different types of libertarians, Left-libertarians (aka civil or social libertarians) tend to avoid economics or are close to Classical Liberals, Right-libertarians are the type that run the Libertarian party in the United States and would be closer to anarcho-capitalism in more extreme forms (in contrast to communal anarchism). (Also, most libertarians outside of the today's Libertarian (which unfortunately seems to be becoming more akin to Paleoconservatism than true libertarianism) party hate the Republican party and the Tea partiers and Fox) --

rolllback

Hey, sorry it took so long for me to get back to you, my fence blew down this weekend, and, well, who cares. Anywho, rollback is only used to quickly revert obvious vandalism so users who may be looking at the page don't see a page that has been trashed. We prefer using the comments for multiple reasons. The main ones are so users looking at the history can see why their edit or anyon e's edit was changed, and the reason it was changed. Sometimes people input beneficial information, but aren't aware of our style guide, or aware that they accidently erased an entire section. So it's best to explain why you moved, erased, or. Changed their edit. We have to remember that anyone can edit, and with that most people don't know our policies. If somebody is browsing the history of a page and sees some helpful information that was quickly removed with no reason, they won't know if the information was valid or not. Edit comments also help the people who incorrectly edited become better editors by telling or showing them why their edit was "wrong" or at least a better way to go about editing. We also don't want to think that people are here just to vandalise, so sometimes it's best to leave a short summary saying something like "information was removed about "x" with no reason, please explain?" To let them know they should provide reasons for removing sections. I apologize for any typos, typing on my droid keyboard. Any questions or further explaination, feel free to ask.--Karlis (talk) (contribs) 01:15, April 11, 2010 (UTC)

Re:Libertarianism/Conservatism

It took me a few times rereading your message to figure out what it was that was wrong with your thinking in terms of the libertarian position. "Libertarians, as I understand it, favor small government. Government is not the solution to the problem; government IS the problem (to quote Reagan)." Now, ignoring the hypocrisy of Reagan you seem to think government is The problem, rather than the symptom. The reason many libertarians fight for social libertarianism before absolute economic freedom is complicated, however, we'll just simplify for the sake of comprehension. "I can see where the socially liberal views on same-sex marriage abortions come in, since restricting those practices would increase the government.", What this does is increase the sheep mentality of the people, the ease of provoking a racist to fury over "that coloured becoming president", the religious dogmatic zeal of those protecting the nation against "militant atheists", or the tea partiers being whipped into a frenzy by the puppet-masters of Fox, all of this contributes to the issue. A government is simply the tool used by those in power to exert their authority, without a government they'd simply use other methods (churches, gangs, appeals to emotion, etc.) to control the complacent population. In order for a people to be ready to truly govern themselves they must have the tools to do so. Our education system is in shambles and our nation is at war with it's own citizens in the name of fighting the terrorists or worst yet, this asinine "drug war to protect the corporations children".

But the true issue is the mindset of the people, and herein lies the reason it is almost offensive to some libertarians to call them conservatives. The very word conservative can be broken down to its root "conserve" - it implies the person labeled is seeking to conserve/preserve something, Republican politicians (ignoring the fact they drop their "conservative" values whenever it earns them political brownie points) supposed seek to return to the golden-age of America - when men were men, women where women, and the only enemies to worry about were "those damned pinkos". Libertarians on average (outside of the party) are not patriotic, jingoistic, or particularly religious (by far, most if not all the libertarians I personally know outside of the party are atheists), and would be none to heartbroken if a different - less restrictive governement replaced the US'. However, libertarianism would not require conserving or preserving, if anything, a libertarian is more of an iconoclast. (I also note that my tone seems unintentionally confrontational and if it comes off as such, I apologise, I simply didn't have the time to edit this for presentation as I usually do).-- 22:40, April 11, 2010 (UTC)

thank you =D

it's great to be back, and you did an enormous favor for me when i was blocked =D

on another note, why have the level 2/3 headers changed? O_O the titlebar seems slightly...slimmed down,

nonono. i mean't like where you put two equals (==) to denote a level 2 header, i wasn't talking about you changing that on my talk page, it seems it's affected the entire RSW, like the titlebar seems slightly skinnier if you know what i mean O_O

i see...but it seems like the "edit" button at the right is also smaller. also, take a look at this page, don't some of the headers seem kind of...small?

hmmm...ok nvm then i guess =D

NVM lol i know what's the problem now! it was cuz my skin was set to moonlight, not the default monaco sapphire, which i presume is yours right now. but i had it set for moonlight like 2 weeks before, and it seems this "small" error only occurred today after the editing lockdown. i guess i'll have to bring this up with the wikia staff Fruit.Smoothie 01:46, April 12, 2010 (UTC)

I suppose you could ask a bureaucrat to fix it although I'm unaware of any technical side-effects of being in both groups. By the way, the cache for ListUser hasn't updated yet so you're not listed as a sysop at the moment Wink --Quarenon  Talk 20:53, April 12, 2010 (UTC)

Summaries

Just letting you know, summaries like "FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-" does not qualify as a proper summary, especially in a mainspace article. like here sig1.png Spam me w/ lolcatsPottery statuette detail.png Is <insert name here> awesome? Government Waste

Happy tax day! I thought you might like to hear about a great incident of government waste, from the 2010 edition of Uncle John's Bathroom Calendar.

  • in 1981 the Army spent 6,000 dollars to create a 17-page booklet for government agencies on how to properly choose and purchase... A bottle of worcestershire sauce.

Happy tax day. (davelopo) 20:26, April 15, 2010 (UTC)

Your question

Hiya! I just checked my talk page, and realised I haven't answered your question that you asked a month ago... Sorry for that! I completely forgot replying to it after I saw it! My bad!

Anyways, if you're still interested: It's because the GIF's are scaled to 100px. Animations go all buggy when they're rescaled, so that should be removed.

Again, my apologies for the late response! But hey, better late than never. --Mark (talk) 22:48, April 16, 2010 (UTC)

Lol. I don't like messages that haven't been replied to, and I didn't want you to think I was ignoring you, so I thought I'd better reply. Again, better late than never! --Mark (talk) 21:43, April 17, 2010 (UTC)
Because I'm lazy. Wikia's Helper Policy prevents me from using my Helper rights on active wiki's (active communities). Excluding rollback or wiki's I am an admin. Wikia doesn't really care that much about it, but I try to not use them if it's not necessary. --Mark (talk) 22:24, April 17, 2010 (UTC)

Re:RS:FIMG

Thanks for asking on a clarification on this. This is not actually explicitly mentioned anywhere in the project page, but FIMG nominations are based on consensus and not vote-tallying, unlike the Featured Users and Featured Articles. That means that votes like "Support - I like pie" should generally be disregarded, and users who disagree with the votes of other users are allowed to debate over the merits of whatever reasons they have. This of course means that nominations with 60% support and 40% opposes would be a no consensus (although, in some cases, possibly a consensus, it depends largely on the context). On a side note, call this my personal rule of thumb, but avoid extending a nomination more than once, as you don't always have to reach a consensus for any particularly side, and remember to always look at the entire nomination (extended parts and all) before making the decision. Hope this is helpful. C.ChiamTalk 14:50, April 18, 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, I was thinking of providing that example. Although as a word of explanation, I extended it once more because it would have seemed very inconsistent with the I's decisions to extend it, but I would have actually preferred to close it on 22 February as a no-consensus. Re:remove rollback

But not everyone who has rollback is a sysop, such as myself. sig1.png Spam me w/ lolcatsPottery statuette detail.png Is <insert name here> awesome? I don't know, let me check... 15:01, April 18, 2010 (UTC)

For his account (and Frede's) specifically, not the User right. C.ChiamTalk 15:03, April 18, 2010 (UTC)
It seems that Azaz removed you from the rollback group 5 days ago. C.ChiamTalk 15:35, April 18, 2010 (UTC)

Think man think

Step outside the box of rules and policies, come on, its' nice out here. Now, without the policies we have to think, what is our purpose? To provide information. WITHOUT using RS:G, give me a reason the torn leather should not redirect. Remember, our purpose is to help the players first and foremost. The redirect HELPS the players. RS:G fails them in this case. The article on torn leather doesn't say ****, because there isn't **** to know besides the fact it makes a pouch. Thats why we have RS:UCS. Help the players. Whats good for them?--Degenret01 15:57, April 18, 2010 (UTC)
