Welcome

Hello and welcome to the wiki! Have fun editing here, but first you should read the Style Guide to see how articles should be set up and our Help page for general help around the wiki. Editing help can be found here. If you need help with anything feel free to ask me on my Talk Page. There are many editors here who can help you with anything you need. Also, if you haven't already, why don't you create a User page to help everyone get to know you better? You can even create a Signature on the page Template:signatures/Leevclarke/Archive 1 to help add color to your name when you sign posts. Check out this page for help with that. Always remember to sign your forum and talk page posts with 4 tildes ~~~~ until you've got a sig (if you'd like one), or just press the sign button: Signature button.png. Once again, welcome! Re: chicken

Yes, you're probably right. Bear in mind that when the raw chicken/chicken pages got created the content was sparse on the site. Now that we're getting pretty comprehensive, having 2 pages is reasonable! Cheers! --Eucarya Talk 22:13, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

Thanks.  :-) Just noticed that the redirect you made was actually last July, when I thought it was a recent change, made in the last few days. I am actually glad that articles are becoming more detailed as the wiki grows, and it may be that more and more articles can be split to give specific information as it is added.
Amazing really what information is still missing though - I've only just added a stub on fat snail meat. The closest article I could find was snail, which is a rather lacklustre article at the moment. Unfortunately I did not think to collect information on the fat snail before I cooked it, as that article does not yet exist. If you want a new direction for contributions, snails are an idea for you!
Thanks again.  :-) Leevclarke 22:29, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

Hi. Thanks for the tipoff about your new article. I've taken it off my list now it has it's own article to live on. :-) I've been a bit quiet on the wiki the last couple of weeks so I might even start working on the backlog again now. Pointy 21:39, 12 August 2007 (UTC)

I just used low alch (don't have high) on a black sword, and that is how much I got. I am pretty sure I didn't have any coins on me before I cast the spell, but maybe other people could prove me wrong?
You are welcome to try it yourself and see whether your figures match mine.  :-) Leevclarke 20:42, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

{{wpalso}}

Um, do you really think its necessary to add a {{wpalso}} to articles like knife...? I mean, its a knife. Its a real item, clearly there will be an article on it. I really think its useless though. ChristineTalk 00:13, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

A fair question. My motivation is firstly to provide a link to Wikipedia, which the visitors here might not know about. Of course it seems unlikely (Wikipedia is certainly the most famous wiki), but you never know.
Another line of thought is that Wikipedia has so many interesting articles that sometimes all one needs is a starting point, and find other articles from there. Sometimes the chain of links I follow deviates far from where I started, but I end up reading some very interesting articles about things I would not have thought to look up directlty.
Of course people will know conceptually what a knife is, but where do we draw the line in deciding what does or does not justify a link to show how an item in RuneScape corresponds to its real-life counterpart? I do not elect to segregate topics like this myself, I just wanted to provide a means of putting items in RuneScape into the context of real life. The wpalso template is quite uninstrusive (since it appears near the bottom of the article instead of the top like many templates). Therefore it seems harmless to add wherever possible.
It might also encourage many of the young people who play RuneScape to click through to Wikipedia and learn some interesting information from a general encyclopaedia. OK, so reading about knives is not so fascinating, but, like I said above, there must be plenty of more interesting articles linked from it.
Well these are my thoughts anyway.  ;-) Please feel free to respond - you are certainly welcome to disagree.  :-) Many thanks. Leevclarke 18:34, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

Cheese

srry about the cheese article. I will never do that again. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Runescapehelperperson (talk) on 04:03, 30 September 2007 (UTC).

If you are "76.239.11.145", who made an inaccurate change to the examine text of cheese, apology accepted of course.  :-)
Don't forget also to sign your posts with ~~~~, and to start a new heading when you are starting a new thread! It looked like you were adding a comment to the {{wpalso}} thread before I added the heading. ;-) Leevclarke 13:22, 30 September 2007 (UTC)

Capitalization

The "w" in Well was capitalized to be consistent with other articles. All of the articles have the name of the article in bold and capitalized. It is not "a rule", but it sort of looks nice when everything is the same. No big deal.Scythe.png Atlandy 21:45, 3 October 2007 (UTC)

Well I thought there was some policy at Wikipedia to say that the article title should not be capitalised in the article, even right at the beginning (every article should begins with its own title, as I am sure you well know).
However, I can't find any such policy now that I look for it, so I could be wrong. If there is an unofficial convention amongst other articles that this actually should be capitalised then of course I will adhere.
I will question this with the Wikipedia users, but until there is a genuine consensus I will put the capital letter in the Well article back. Many thanks for addressing this issue - stay posted.  :-) Leevclarke 22:02, 3 October 2007 (UTC)

I wasn't around for a bit lately, sorry! It looks like everything's been dealt with, and I just wanted to say, your User page looks great and I'm jealous. :P Oh yes.. I moved the section on "sex" versus "gender" to the bottom, since it's more of a footnote than pertaining to the article's main topic itself.
Also: Oddlyoko, as of a few days ago, is rarely seen without wearing his camel mask. Much like your eyepatch. >_> Oddlyoko talk 07:12, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

Image use request

Over on RuneScape Fan Fiction, there's currently a contest going on to see who can make the best article about a fleet. I'm working on [[w:c:runescapefanfiction:1st_Asgarnian_Naval_Fleet|1st Asgarnian Naval Fleet]]. One of the types of ships mentioned in the article, the "Mudskip-Class Frigate", is supposed to look like Lady Lumbridge, but I'm too lazy to get a picture myself, so I'm requesting permission to use your Image:Lady lumbridge 4.png. Brewing Help

I see you don't know much about Brewing. That's okay, I'm here to help.

Now, when you look at the Fermenting vat, look behind it at the pipe that attaches the vat to the barrel. Right click the white thing. That's to drain the vat into the barrel.

First, though, right click the vat. If you've made bad <drink here>, it'll say it's a vat of bad ale/cider.

However, if it's good, drain it into the barrel, then use your beer glasses/calquat keg on the barrel.

I had the same problem as you. Chef's Delight only takes a few hours to ferment unless it's bad. I didn't know about the drain until recently. Happy brewing!  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.49.204.120 (talk) on 2008-04-23T04:36:43.

Thanks.  :-) I thought brewing did progress when logged off (like growing seeds in Farming), but I wasn't sure, and some of it did seem to be taking quite a long time. It would be useful if the manual listed the times these things take, but I couldn't find it in there at all, and it can be annoying having to keep going back to check.  :-p Leevclarke 13:34, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

Trollweiss

I made the changes that you suggested by deleting the original disambiguation page and replacing it with the flower. I think the "See Also" section covers everything that the disambiguation page does just as well, and perhaps in a better fashion, as the mountain and Hunter area are in part named after the flower, not the other way around.

If you could, I would ask you to fill in some details about your motivation on the talk page of the article mainly to keep this from becoming an edit war/wheel war.

Thank you for your suggestion, and I'm glad to be of service to help you out. Let's continue to make this a wonderful tool to share our knowledge of Runescape. --Robert Horning 03:47, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

Flour, Empty pot and merging/moving articles

I know you would like me to move the Flour article to Pot of flour. One of the reasons I haven't made this "simple" move is that the whole issue about the merged articles on Empty pot really needs to be cleaned up a bit. I don't understand the need for one article to be about three almost completely different items that are only partially related, and I was going to try and clean that up a bit. Certainly the section about yeast needs to be moved to its own completely different page. This isn't like Black platelegs that talk about three very closely related items that only vary based on how you obtain them (in terms of their function in the game).

If you really feel it is necessary, I could simply delete the existing redirect at Pot of flour and let you move the page as you think it ought to be. My concern is mainly to make sure the information from both articles are merged together as something uniform. I just haven't had the extra time to mess with this in terms of textual clean up that all of these article need.

Generally speaking, each item in the game is permitted to have its own article, and Empty pot does seem to be a little bit different from most of the other item articles because it really is about these three different items. If you could help with this cleanup, it would be appreciated. --Robert Horning 04:13, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

I absolutely agree - the article on bucket suffers with the same problem. I will tackle this in the interim. Thanks for your help.  :-) Leevclarke talk Max_logo_mini.png bulldog_puppy.png 04:23, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
Actually the pot of yeast thing was remarkably easy, since it turns out that the item is called ale yeast, which already had its own article! I've merged the info from Empty pot into that article, merged the info about flour into Flour and prepped it for the move, added a stub for bonemeal (which was conspicuously absent), and linked to it and Pot of vinegar from Empty pot. Now for Bucket...Leevclarke talk Max_logo_mini.png bulldog_puppy.png 06:54, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

edits minor not checked

Hey, I just want to say I hope I didn't come off as harsh or anything where I commented under your vote in Buzz' RFA. I believe in bluntness because it leaves no room for misinterpretation, but sometimes it seems I am being a jerk. It was meant only to be informative.--Degenret01 09:02, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

No, you didn't - maybe I had better reasons than the minor edits to oppose, but that was the brunt of the reasoning I actually gave. I didn't know that was a bad reason to oppose, so I will take another look today and see whether I want to augment or revise my input. I know the guidelines for adminship say that a large number of small edits is not enough, and that big changes, especially to important or emerging articles may carry more weight. Or something like that.  :-p Leevclarke talk Max_logo_mini.png bulldog_puppy.png 10:40, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

Hilarious RuneScape Story!

Here is a story my friend told me: I ate my toe off, died, and lost my god sword. I was like, "What the heck?" so I jumped in a lake and tried to drown BUT GUTHIX SAID, "NO!" So I jumped off of Lumbridge castle but a newb broke my fall. I smashed my mace into his forehead. I took a chocalate bomb and it exploded. I didn't die and I ate all the chocalate, but I got EXTREMELY OBESE and I can't walk. Now I tell people my sad story.
