The 70's Challenge[edit source]

Hey, Karima! Nice levels you've got there. just leave a note on my talk page every time you get a level to 50+. at 50+, those levels will be put on a chart I will make on a seperate page for you, and will record your progress as you leave messages on my talk page for each level up past 50. If you level up several times in a short time (1 day or less) feel free to just combine then and say you got, for example, 54-57 in the past day. Thank you very much, thy friend,Cheers, Off-hand ascension crossbow.pngYodaAscension crossbow.png 21:30, October 12, 2009 (UTC)

Re:Bandos GWD[edit source]

No problem, we ended up not even finding a world, well, at least until I had to go, because my dad had to get some forms ready, and when I came back, the only person that was in my CC by the time I left and still was logged in was Arin, and he said that the trip failed, so I think Gazica and the others didn't even find an empty world. Agreed! I really hope they release the new quest soon. I only have two big worries, though, one: that it'll be terrible, and two: that I won't be able to do it when it comes out. Though I doubt the first one, the second one is always lingering in my mind like a nagging sea slug. I really hope I can do it. Best Minigames[edit source]

So guys! Recently(ish) I did a "Best Quest" article, and I’ve been delighted with the response I’ve received for it. Seven people have commended me for it, and the awesome User:Jack Spiral1 has informed me that someone has requested for another, similar article! I’ve tried out every minigame there is, and I do have a few of them in mind. So, here goes...

My First Minigame

So, here’s a minigame which all the members among you have no doubt tried... Castle Wars! I used to be strongly affiliated with Saradomin (I had yet to discoverer the coolness of Zaros). Flying rocks, explosives, scaling walls and rockfalls! Could you want anything else of a Minigame? Well actually, yes, you could. Castle Wars annoys me. In the lobby, higher leveled players sneer at those trying out Castle Wars for their first time. One man Godsword teams quickly steal the flags and run off, and mages utilising Ancient Magicks defend their fort easily with little skill. It seems I started my minigame experience on a bad note.

Hardest Minigame

This is a no brainer. Seriously. Gosh, the amount of times I’ve attempted the Fight Pits and been repulsed is unimaginable! In the Fight Pits, you battle your way through endless hordes of monsters from a never-ending wave of level 22s which drain your prayer to several level 360’s who use magic and melee which can easily hit above 500. Your character is slowly drained of life points and prayer and brutalized till he faces the beasts of beasts, second only to Nomad in my books: Tztok-jad. Max hit 970. Uses melee, magic and range. 2550 life points. 'nuff said.

My Favourite Minigame Series.

Not really sure how this works, seeing as I’m following the format for my quests article. Let me rename this...

My Favourite Minigame Series

The Best Group Minigame

Ah! There we are. Sorted. I had to think about this one long and hard. But finally, I have the answer! Stealing Creation! This is completely different to the majority of minigames out there, for one simple reason: anyone can be good at it. I have countless memories of myself and fellow wikians battling it out in a clay fistfight, where even the lowest levels can get involved. Also, the sheer variety of its activities makes it much more attractive. You can make your own armour! My gosh! Skillers can "skill" and fighters can bash each other and...yeah!

The Best Minigame

First I considered Rat Pits. Then I considered why that though had even entered my head. Then I considered Mage Arena. Too easy. Barrows? Too boring. Soul Wars? I’m bad at it. Then I thought of it: Fist of Guthix! This is available to both free players and members — and boy is it good! It's a chaotic game with running, shouting, and shooting; where tactics are just as important as combat skills! I’ve seen level 50’s stealthily sneak past level 100+ mages, and seen sly tactics being used both ways. If I didn’t spend so much time questing and writing, that is exactly what I’d be doing! I don’t pretend to be good at it — I’m much better at other minigames but this has it all! While some may say it does not incorporate "skills", (such as hunter, woodcutting etc.) the skill it requires for a successful play is much more tenacious, valuable and exciting. And that’s why it gets my vote.

Cheers for the response for my previous article guys! :D

Post-MPD dialogue[edit source]

I tried talking to Ali the Wise, but he doesn't seem to have an additional dialogue after the quest... yet you added he did, how did you find this - may I ask? . . . Ah... seems I have to ask about the ritual and then about the citadel... quite odd how Jagex did that :( quite odd also that he says this: "I was most displeased to learn you did not support Zaros", I suspect that was because I agree with Iccy that we couldn't trust Sliske... other gods also had opinions.. but Zaros never expressed his.. only a blind follower would side with Zaros (and maybe not even that). . . . Yours, This user admires the Void Knights. Who aim to maintain Gielinor's Equilibrium. Enquidou Talk This user likes to do Quests and genuinely loves the story line; lore is his love! . . 12:19, October 18, 2013 (UTC)
Yes, I only didn't complete BotD, that final boss fight is just a little toooo challending :P
Anyway... did you just pick the Zaros option just because you... are an adamant supporter of his/him (a.k.a. a mindless/blind follower :P) See my reasons here . . . Yours, This user admires the Void Knights. Who aim to maintain Gielinor's Equilibrium. Enquidou Talk This user likes to do Quests and genuinely loves the story line; lore is his love! . . 19:23, October 18, 2013 (UTC)
lol, you must be good at combat then :P I died a looot! Used magic too (97 mage, 91 LP, 92 def, 95 pray, used Gano and ise barrage, killed Grimson first...) the last fight is just undoable :P He keeps healing and summoning more chaos dwarfs, I can't kill all of them :(
Glad you agree with me on that contradiction, it really bugs me :P I wonder... why do you think Zaros is the best option? I'm of the opinion that we don't know enough. And some of the first hand accounts are not all favourable,  e.g.: he didn't appreciate humans, opressed them (what would he do to even 'weaker' races?). He may change and/or (like how Saradomin now seems to regret some of his evil acts; Armadyl will be less naive; etc., etc.) but I don't know if/how Zaros changed.  I would really like to know your point of view on it. I can see why it would be intreesting to be a loyal follower of him in a purely RPG and lore way, but otehrwise, not really :3 . . . Yours, This user admires the Void Knights. Who aim to maintain Gielinor's Equilibrium. Enquidou Talk This user likes to do Quests and genuinely loves the story line; lore is his love! . . 12:34, October 22, 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for your faith in me :P I did manage to seperate the two with the door (by using the going-down-the-stairs-and-back-up-again method). How did you managed to kill those chaos cannoneers and other chaos dwarfs he summons, and how do you stop his regeneration attack?
So... about your support for Zaros: you say it's the best for our character, do you mean, storywise or considering the Ancient magicks, Nex gear, Ancient curses etc, a mix of this, or something else? Because... you don't seem to believe he's that benevolent. . . . Yours, This user admires the Void Knights. Who aim to maintain Gielinor's Equilibrium. Enquidou Talk This user likes to do Quests and genuinely loves the story line; lore is his love! . . 10:59, October 26, 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for your trust in me :P Trust I don't really have (I took extreme pots as well as the highest ancient curses) :P I can't even manage to trap those chaos dwarves outside... and if I do... somehow he switches places and heals anyway :( I had no idea, btw, that the polypore staff has a 10% damage boost! To any spell btw, or just its own spell?
Aahh.. yes I see your point. I love the mystery aspect of it too... like Sliske said in TWW: "You are the centre of this event, [player]. You are the one who opened the doors. You have shown that you have power enough to potentially disrupt plans you do not agree with." It feels only natural that we, the player, should be incredible relevant for Zaros' plan. And I want to know more. I am a member of the Godless faction... which is still home to many different peoples (some want to kill all gods, I'd like to call those Bandos-ish Godless; others want to have sole rule for only mortals, those I see as Saradom-like Godless; others are more like Armadyl and Seren, like I might be. It kinda depends), and as a member of the Godless faction I would want the best for Gielinor - there are enough wars and troubles that are not directly or closely related to the gods: we don't need extra massive trouble. But this is as if I was a real citizen of Gielinor and the RS-universe, but there is other side to this. I do think the god story line, especially the epical, mythical and magical sides to it, are the most interesting stories (MPS is much more intersting than... Murder Mystery, to me, similarly a Myreque story (which me feel a bit like a WW2 resistence) is a lot more interesting and engaging when it's as mystical as it's written). So in that sense, I might do hope that Zaros fully comes back, and not just to the Shadow realm. So I'm torn :P . . . Yours, This user admires the Void Knights. Who aim to maintain Gielinor's Equilibrium. Enquidou Talk This user likes to do Quests and genuinely loves the story line; lore is his love! . . 12:39, October 28, 2013 (UTC)

Hahah I have the idea that we're very like-minded :P Like I said, a world without gods and no religion of them, may well be boring.
But the gods are still powerful and gods can hurt us in someway (like how Saradomin blasted us in DoC to get the wand) ... (even if they couldn't: we are still only mortals and can be killed easily).
This could make Godless' (in someway futile') fight against all gods possibly even more epic than supporting one of the stronger gods that also want to actively take hold (like Sara, Zammy, Zaros, etc. unlike Seren, Tumeken, Marimbo etc.).
Sure, as a Godless you could cleverly play things out (like Sliske does now: persuade some gods to try to kill most gods, have other gods fight to defend themselves or help other gods to make sure some others won't be too strong (like in BoL)), but then you would still be faced with a few very powerful gods, maybe the ones that are best at fighting and cause a bigger thread.
I have no idea what the demographics are (I'm also kinda recluse). sure there are some threads that ask people which faction they support.. but those are people active on the forum and many other problems that make it difficult to completely trust it. I'd much rather have Jagex release those results :P
And while Sliske's quote is great, I also have mixed feelings about something similar said by Juna to Zanik: "Still, you misunderstand. You have strayed from your destiny. You can still take up the mantle of the Chosen Commander and return to your proper path". Sliske could be a very perceptive observation of coincidence, while Juna's remark really seems like there is some kind of predestination... or even more horrible: a plan. I've always disliked the respawning after death idea (also disliked the 'eat your wounds away'-principle). My brother played LotRO (Lord of the Rings Online) and death wasn't death, it was demotivation: you left the battlefield, and could return later. In game-play, it's exactly like an RS-Death (especially with hubs) but totally different in Lore. I like that principle! I was saddened with that dialogue in Spirit world seen in Blood Runs Deep:
Player: "Am I…dead?"
Eir: "I would love to answer all of your questions, but I’m afraid there isn't much time. You aren't supposed to be here yet.
I would much more have liked Jagex tackle that problem than to say our character has no backstory at all, while there is lots of interesting evidence of it and reference to it (see the Balance Elemental quote down. .... ... Anyway... to your question: "What is your favourite storyline with Gielinor?" I'm afraid I don't really have one... maybe I could sort of cheat and say the storyline of my character?? (E.G.: Hazeel is freed by either me, or another 'adventurer'). There are other adventurer sotires too, like after Carnillean Rising Phillip, as well as the signature heroes. They all have stories that play in the same univers, and sometimes they converge (like Jagex tried to do with the Shield of Arrav quest, and later with the Heroes quest). But if that's tooo much cheating.. maybe the Mahjarrat storyline?? That seems to be one of the most elaborate storylines anyway, especially if you judge it liberally. MPD could be seen as part of it too. Just like us, the player/adventurer, they are involved in lots of stories. I hope that's an okay non-answer :P So... what's your favorite story line?

  • Balance ELemental: "Do you know what, Player? I've really missed you. It's been such a long time, and your funeral was just such a lovely event. And what was it you used to say to me? Oh, I remember it well, since it was like yesterday. Ah, well, I guess you know better than anyone that the good die young!"
This was already interesting because of Robert the Strong/Bob the cat-reincarnation and it became even more interesting since Amascut got corrupted, also see the Book of the Underworld - imho.

I hope I'm not spamming too much for your liking :( I have e tendency to ramble on :P

Btw, a little disappointed you're not a true believer in Zaros :P I would've loved a real talk with someone like that :P Although I like and understand your motivation :3

Oh, also... the Wand of Treachery is *only* level 70 while the Polypore is 75, so the increase in damage may just be the level difference, maybe also tied to its accuracy? Also... normal 1h weapons have less damage than 2h/dual wielding, maybe somehow that's also taken into account when casting magic (or is it... but is it only the amound of runes you would burn through - if not using abilities)?? . . . Yours, This user admires the Void Knights. Who aim to maintain Gielinor's Equilibrium. Enquidou Talk This user likes to do Quests and genuinely loves the story line; lore is his love! . . 14:18, October 29, 2013 (UTC)

Haha, no you're not the only one to think that ("as arbitrary as the idea of 'right' is!"). A couple of ears back I first wrote this because people kept calling certain gods evil and other good (see this stigma example, something still thougth at the time of the Battle of Lumbridge) and there was all kinds of confusion (but it was deemed not fit for wikia). I like your point about David and Goliath, maybe this might interest you ;P
About your point about detachment.. I have a couple of accounts (1 main and P2P, 3 secondary F2P accounts) with my main account I do try to keep the level of detachment as little as possible, while I like the idea of exploring different choices and increasingly divergent paths.
Yes, that LotRO solution is really elegant, imho. And in things like the Fight Claudron it may all be things like forfaiting, and death in PK may be like a gentleman's agreement: I lost, you won't kill me, but you get my stuff... in quests maybe something like emergengy teleports -- yeah idk... I would love a little more thought in the RS death-mechanism.
Haha don't worry, you've not let me down. In fact, in a way I'm also happy you're not a blind follower (following Zaros without knowing much about him. It may be understandable if you were born into a religion, but it sounds really...well, either opportunist (curses, magicks, etc.) or uncritical, to follow it without knowing anything about that mysterious god. The reason why I'd like to speak to a real devout follower is to understand.
I'm big on lore... in fact, I think that's the best thing about RS (especially considering other games and their.. quests -kill 24 wolves and get reward): RS has such a well-developed, dense and still accessible lore storyline! From the little niches (Murder mystery) to the small stories that end up to be part of a bigger one (either during the quest, like Tale of the Muspah, or later on like how Grubfoot (met in his tiny tiny role during Goblin Diplomacy) come back in TCC and may even feature in The Godless storyline). All this is why these inconsistencies bother me (like: food & healing; multiple deaths; the apparent unavoidable destiny and unbeatable-ness of our character). This is also why I would be interested in devout believers, one way or another (not just role players: I can see why it might be fun to act as if you're a devout believer in Saradomin for example, while you actually ('irl') agree more with, let's say: Zamorak's opportunistic, destructively forced creative, individualism. While I can understand that, I would really like to see people's real persuasion too - and argue with and understand them. Part of me also can't really believe why people would be devout believers in some characters... so if that's weird, I apologize :P)
Btw, I too love this kind of conversation :3 Thrilled to see you like it too . . . Yours, This user admires the Void Knights. Who aim to maintain Gielinor's Equilibrium.
