Advanced pulse core levels[edit source]

Further investigating the subject and it seems like my level 99 skills go up by +7, while my 120's will go up by +8... I wonder at what level the pulse core gives a +8 boost. Triforc4Link (talk) 02:01, 9 January 2020 (UTC)

Transcripts[edit source]

Hey, for transcripts, I'm pretty sure separate screens of consecutive dialogue for the same speaker need to be listed separately, so for example in Transcript:Sir Yaktrick Moore, the "Ahhh!" would be a separate line from "It's a talking telescope!". So that entire page needs to be re-done with the separate lines of dialogue. Unless the policy has changed, that's how I always understood it to be. Someone correct me if I'm wrong? Ok, sounds good. Wasn't sure about it so I figured I'd check. RuneMetrics Paul Z Talk bite me HS Contributions 00:06, 24 March 2020 (UTC)

Navbox gcat[edit source]

I just saw you updated the navbox doc and added the following: "Each parameter can have multiple category names delimited by comma." However category names can have comma's. So it might be better to delimit them with another character instead. Farming-icon.png Salix (Talk) Prifddinas lodestone icon.png 11:09, 27 March 2020 (UTC)

Okay, lemme know and I'll change it in the module. I'm assuming I'll have to change line 256 for cat in gcat:gmatch('([^,]+)') do and replace the , with the other character? Farming-icon.png Salix (Talk) Prifddinas lodestone icon.png 11:23, 27 March 2020 (UTC)
Done! =D Farming-icon.png Salix (Talk) Prifddinas lodestone icon.png 12:29, 27 March 2020 (UTC)

Charming imp transcript[edit source]

It looks like I did if it's still possible to talk to the imp when he's in the inventory, which I can't because mine's toolbelted and interacting with him only brings up a menu of charms to select instead of dialogue. I also wouldn't put it past Jagex to completely remove dialogue.NeutralinoTalk? This is a pale wisp. 04:32, 7 June 2020 (UTC)

Charm log template broken[edit source]

Hi Habblet! Just quickly poking in to let you know that you(r) (bot) moved the charm data pages over to module pages which seems to have broken the charm log template (for reference: look at Charms#Drop_rates). I am a nitwit so I have no idea on how to fix any of this, so I was hoping you might know what the solution is. Kharidian cat.png Goos09 Talk Cat inv old.png 16:38, 12 August 2020 (UTC)

This is probably better directed at User:BlackHawk (given his involvement in the underlying Data namespace/module/gadget/thing responsible for the page moves). On a related note, I believe I've figured out a solution to the errors on that page - will ping BlackHawk in Discord to see if he agrees with it. MrDew (talk) 03:03, 13 August 2020 (UTC)

About RS:DDD[edit source]

Hii, my friend had something with an artist who contacted jagex directly, he was ready with the waiter and bullied the admin on some wikis because someone is a sneaky woman.

I want to blank the talk page, in this case I have to answer if he acts up again. I hope that sneaky woman is not on this wiki, she must get paid by taylor for her contribution to a wiki, while my friend was blocked by steward because of that woman and cannot change her name, even her friends are blocked as her but thats not right, :( can you not blocking? he also lost his theme because of that woman, I hope that artist reads this, because he is being fooled, and I want to say that the creator of the account that made the song regarding account (ii) is a person born on the right day like a sly woman who fooled the artist. I swear.

Sorry if it's annoying 8Selestial (talk) 20:16, 3 October 2020 (UTC)

White Knights pre-Temple Knights[edit source]

I didnt want to spam the WK edit page with back and forth, so I'm commenting here, but the White Knights not being Pre-Temple can be disproven from few locations, most notably the 3rd Age Military Doc which includes the Temple Knights as the only non-Phalanx order of Humans in Saradomin's forces, also originating in the 2nd Age.

additionally, I believe you are misunderstandkng the Owen quote, because " White Knight" is used interchangably within the Temple Knights to describe them and the Whites for secrecy reasons, and when he mentions them as a "covert branch", hes talking in the modern day, rather than past tence. anyway it's only one line gone from the page, and explained in two previous lines already. 23:23, 15 October 2020 (UTC)

Hello. I'm responding here because I don't think you'll get my ping. I don't believe that document is considered to be (fully) canon, even by the author. Where are the Temple Knights referenced? Is it the Ordo Templi Saradominis? Where is it referenced that that they are the same order? Is this only referenced in this document? Where are White Knight and Temple Knight used interchangeably? Habblet (talk|c) 18:21, 16 October 2020 (UTC)
Hey, the Ordo Templi Saradominis are the Temple Knights, the doc is an internally referenced document, there is a full file of it somewhere here on the Wiki, I just don't know the page name. In terms of it being canon, most of its contents were canonized with Archaeology on Everlight and Stormguard, in addition it is posted on the official RS Discord by a JMod made to be a direct reference, it was also introduced in a RuneFest lore drop. (about the 15 min mark)
"Where is it referenced that that they are the same order?" 'A strange organisation with a strange history, the "Order of the Temple of Saradomin" are a human knightly order. They were originally the Ordo Templi Zaros, part of the church of the Zarosian empire.'
There is an old line of dialogue that says "all temple knights are white knights who got promoted" that wouldn't surprise me if Theodore is using as a reference, but that has since been retconned with new lore, such as the aforementioned document.
Places where White Knight is used interchangeably with Temple Knight are that dialogue with Sir Owen "Evil Dave's Big Day out" throughout, the two are used back and forth, two relatively recent quests. 01:21, 17 October 2020 (UTC)
A copy of the document is at Transcript:Military Forces of the Late Third Age. It's not the parts that are canon that I'm worried about, but the rest, especially when the author stated that the document "isn't really canon". This isn't to say that it can't become canon or that it is filled with wild contradictions, but adding information from these type of sources can make it really hard to go back later and change articles to bring them up to date, worse when something changes from design to game integration. If it is used as a source though, and like with all things, it should be referenced and it should be explicit where this comes from and the relation of canon priority between the game and the document (as it is, for example, with Postbags from the Hedge).
That said, going back to the specific examples: It does not state that the Ordo Templi Saradominis are the Temple Knights, is there another source? I cannot find the source for "all temple knights are white knights who got promoted", however, let's suppose as an exercise, that is is in-game and that it is 100% canon; it could only be retconned by changing it in-game, not by an external document. As for Sir Owen's dialogue, I'm not sure what type of interchangeability you mean. I only see Temple Knights described as White Knights, not the other way around. Habblet (talk|c) 23:11, 17 October 2020 (UTC)
So we were confused by your last post, is the issue just that they're not referenced? I can go ahead and put those in easily, following book canon, "it's canon until the game contradicts it", if the doc isn't good enough reference, I can use the RuneFest references then. Otherwise, are there any issues with the page as it currently stands? 16:09, 19 October 2020 (UTC)
Yeah, it is better to have the information and source it than to have it and not source it (regardless of whether one may think it should be on the page or not). At least this will make it easier to update if things change when they are added to the game. Habblet (talk|c) 17:49, 19 October 2020 (UTC)
If you(singular/plural) are on Discord, we can have a more fluid conversation about how to best integrate information from the document as a source. We can use the input and other interested people may be able to join in. I'm Habblet#4392 on the RuneScape Wikis server. Habblet (talk|c) 13:44, 20 October 2020 (UTC)

Retirement[edit source]

How do I retire my wiki account? Deltaslug (talk) 00:26, 10 February 2021 (UTC)

Continuing from your post. It wasn't the tone so no need to appologize. IT isn't the first time. I stopped trying to do transcripts a long time ago. In truth ... I'm just ... tired. I'm needing to get off RS since I'm at one of those points in life where you need to move on from a video game and other things going on that limits your ability to play, let alone do something to spend hours upon hours editing a wiki. I've done what I can over the years. Deltaslug (talk) 00:17, 11 February 2021 (UTC)

Deity infobox not showing godhood tier[edit source]

I noticed that you've updated the gods' infoboxes. But now, their tier doesn't show up despite your adding it in the code. Why is this ?NeutralinoTalk? This is a pale wisp. 22:57, 22 June 2021 (UTC)

I'm not sure what you mean. Even for gods whose tiers are known, the tier doesn't appear. Take Saradomin, for example. He's tier 3, but the infobox says nothing about this. NeutralinoTalk? This is a pale wisp. 02:26, 23 June 2021 (UTC)
Oh. I didn't notice that. I see. I think the change is unnecessary. But it works, I suppose. NeutralinoTalk? This is a pale wisp. 20:18, 23 June 2021 (UTC)

Path of the Creators[edit source]

I noticed you copied initial content for Yak Track: Path of the Creators from some older Yak Track article. Any particular reason why the most recent one wasn't used? Great deal of effort has gone into updating the strategies, and rolling back to some older versions seems like an unnecessary downgrade to me. Also, another issue: Talk:Yak Track: Path of the Creators#Name of the track. Thingummywut (talk) 02:22, 24 August 2021 (UTC)

I've merged the info from the latest Yak Track article to this one now. Thingummywut (talk) 02:53, 24 August 2021 (UTC)

DIIs and equips[edit source]

How are you guys getting equips and DIIs nowadays? Is there some unofficial guide on this "cache trick" thing? I want to try it and potentially get into doing images again in my free time. /bren/tc 14:55, 9 October 2021 (UTC)

rm data for gwd uniques[edit source]

Hey, you do realise if you're confirming the rates by rm data, that cite is useless. The cite refers to a purposely vague response by Timbo, and the d.r. in the page doesn't match what he says either. My proposed rates come from a comment he made many years prior which elaborated on a specific unique better. Comment. Given this, it's likely 1/XY where X is no of non-hilt/blade uniques, and Y is bodyguard table chance (128). Also, Zilyana d.r. were a comeplete misreading of the disclosed drop rates and they've remained that way ever since the first editor put them there. Leading me to doubt the significance of any RM data that justify your recent reverts. Pocket Sapphi 00:29, 31 December 2021 (UTC)

Rune Metrics data is always a bad indication for uniques & rare drops rates, because of luck (and other) drop modifiers; I do otherwise value Rune Metrics data. It's no secret Timbo doesn't want drop rates disclosed, ever. The more recent 'revealed drop rates' being in a terrible and incomplete format is deliberate.
To illustrate: example.png
The yellow boxed off section, and the highlighted blue phrases being worded differently (yet are one and the same). Throwing his earlier example of BCP into it: X = 6 (number of unique Graardor non-godsword unique items), Y = 1/128 -> 6/(1/128) = 768, which is obviously wrong and illustrates just how little Timbo cares for this, though we know from his 2013 comment that it's 1/768.
The editor who first filled in rates for Zilyana on the wiki based on the 'revealed drop rates' was off the mark completely when they recorded the rates for Kree'arra's bodyguards (because Timbo named the gods (e.g. Armadyl), and Zilyana conveniently drops Armadyl crossbows). The other 3 god wars dungeon 1 bosses had their bodyguards' (yellow boxed in image example.png^) rates recorded.
You may be right about the crossbows having a different drop rate to the other uniques for Zilyana. Or luck may have a weaker effect on them. I don't really know.
Hope this is useful or something. Pocket Sapphi 00:10, 8 January 2022 (UTC)
Perhaps the crossbows are twice as rare ever since they made off-hands (what year?). No other god wars dungeon 1 boss (of the four) drops dual wields. Just a thought. Pocket Sapphi 00:13, 8 January 2022 (UTC)

2h "slot"[edit source]

Regarding the recent reversion ( I understand what the intention is when in override infobox and databox we write "2h" for a slot. However, in-game even the 2h overrides appear under the Main Hand slot in the Wardrobe interface, and once such override is activated, it's only shown to occupy the main hand slot. There is a subtle difference between the equipment slot of the override and the handedness of the equipment needed to be used to get the override to show. The solution to make things correct would be one of the following:

  • Improve documentation for these boxes to clarify that we deviate from the in-game terminology, and to clarify that in case of 2-handed overrides the slot parameter actually refers to multiple slots.
  • Improve the boxes to accommodate information about the handedness and combat style required to get the override to show. I believe this is tied tightly to the slot and type of the override, so could probably be done fully in the corresponding modules instead of requiring manual input. Do you have any old computers you played RuneScape on?[edit source]

Hi Habblet!

Recently we've been trying to recover lost versions of RuneScape that Jagex didn't save. We're asking anybody who played from 2001-2012 to check old computers, laptops, hard drives, or backups for old RuneScape files.

Your userpage says you've been editing the Wiki since 2010, so it's very likely that you have one of the missing versions. It would be great if you could search any old devices you may have so that these older versions of RuneScape aren't lost forever.

If you have any questions, feel free to join our Discord which shows the specific files we are looking for in full detail, and where people can help guide you through the search. Alternatively you can read our page on the Lost Media Wiki, and leave a message on my talk page.
