Welcome![edit source]

Wiki.png

Hello, Diberville, and welcome to the RuneScape Wiki! Thank you for your past contributions, and taking interest in our wiki. We hope you like here and decide to stay!

Here are a few pages to help out new editors such as yourself:

One more tips: Please sign your name on talk pages by using four tildes (~~~~) or use the "sign" button (Signature button.png) above the edit box. This will automatically produce your name and the date. Signing your comments is important, as it lets other editors know who has posted which comments.

Feel free to ask any questions on my or any users' talk page. If you're looking for something to do, feel free to check out the Community Portal. If you have any troubles, contact me on my talk page or ask any other experienced editor for help. You could look at a help page or you could shout out on the local forums.

Again, welcome!

Re: Nomination for bureaucrat[edit source]

Hi Diberville! I wanted to thank you for the encouragement in my nomination, I appreciate it very much. I however have thought that it would be best for me to decline the nomination as my schedule is volatile and sometimes reduces my activity greatly on the wiki. I'm glad that you're taking an active interest in community processes, and hope you understand my reasons for declining the nomination. Thanks! Endasil (Talk) @  17:54, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

Thank you for your interst in our community processes. I too believe that we could use another bureaucrat (ideally every wiki has at least two active ones so that they can check each other's actions). However, I do not nominate people for bureaucrat and I don't support their nominations unless they are self nominated. The reason for this is that only the actual nominee knows for sure whether they can handle the responsibilities of remaining active in the wiki. They should also be willing to take the initiative to solve the problem by putting their name forward. Endasil's nomination was a perfect example - you thought he was capable, and I would agree with you on that. However, Endasil did not agree that he is capable and he is more important than either of us in this situation. I hope you understand, and once again thank you. Dtm142 21:49, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

Rocking Out[edit source]

I'm not trying to be a jerk here, there just isn't a need for this article. Piety.pngAquilaePiety.png 17:28, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, you're right. I'm rather new at the wiki, and I put a speedy delete since I'm not quite sure how to nominate an article for deletion. =P I really don't think it's that big a deal. Why don't we just keep arguing until they actually release it? lol Piety.pngAquilaePiety.png 17:46, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

Dagannoths[edit source]

I removed the category as I believed that NPC's are only for non attackable Characters.

List of Non-player characters or NPCs. These are the non-attackable ones.

speedy deletion[edit source]

strikewhy did you add the speedy deletion tag? the other articles came afterwards... look at the explorers ring all 3 items are on the same page... i would appreciate it if you added the tags to the other 3 pages and told those users to move the stuff to the Fremennik sea boots one... those pages are even mispelled as the item is only capitalized in the word Fremennik...strike God Of War 06:21, 10 December 2008 (UTC)

sorry nevermind i read the comment dtm left me on his talk page i get the whole process know lol... sorry! God Of War 06:39, 10 December 2008 (UTC)

Re:Varrock Cleaners[edit source]

Hi Diberville, I would still like to be a member of the Varrock Cleaners, we need all the help we can get with broken and double redirects. It's a great idea BTW.

Disambi[edit source]

Hi.  :-) I just need to let you know that I have made a small edit to your Disambi page. It's just to correct a link to allow for the fact that I have reorganised some similarly-named page - the disambiguation page you linked to has now moved, so I have updated the link so that it still points to the page you intended. I know there is a policy against editing other people's userpages, but I hoped you wouldn't mind this small exception. If you have any questions, etc. then please do leave a message on my talk page and I will be happy to converse. Many thanks.  :-) Leevclarke talk Max_logo_mini.png bulldog_puppy.png 13:06, 12 December 2008 (UTC)

Why can't all social discourse here be as courteous as this and your response? It really makes the blow up yesterday all the worse, especially seeing how one of the people involved has an RFB in. Anyways, just thank you for your positive example! Hatchenator 14:55, 12 December 2008 (UTC)

Classified information and the compromise[edit source]

I want to thank you for attempting to put a compromise on this seemingly intractable problem. Intractable so far as those who are passionate about this concept of classified information are willing to act and become heavily engaged when it comes to specific information. This certainly touched a raw nerve.

While there does seem to be a "majority" of the users who are stepping in for commentary on the topic to accept your compromise, it will be interesting to see what will happen for specific articles and how hard the concept of verifiability is going to be pushed by each camp in this debate. Those that are hard-core about removing this sort of content from the wiki aren't willing to accept even this compromise, with the exception of User:Rendova. That is concerning to me, as it really doesn't seem to be achieving the consensus. This said, I don't think these users are trying to achieve consensus either.... other than pushing their point of view and demanding that everybody agree to the principles they espouse.

You've tried, and this certainly is a valiant attempt at what I believe to be a reasonable compromise in the spirit of trying to keep this wiki community going. It is certainly interesting to see a diversity of opinion on this topic. Again, thank you so much for trying to broker this issue. --Robert Horning 13:34, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

Signature guidelines[edit source]

Information icon.svg

Hello, Diberville. It seems that your signature is improperly set up. According to signature policy, all signatures must make use of the Template:Signatures page. What you can do:

  • Visit the signature policy page and read the instructions on how to properly set up a signature.
  • I also recommend going back over any talk pages you have signed and replacing the raw signature code after your edits with {{Signatures/Diberville}}, in order to reduce each page's space and thus loading time.

Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. In addition, all signatures must contain a link to a userpage, according to signature policy. --Andorin (Talk) (Contribs) 03:01, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

Thora[edit source]

Hi.  :-) You have a page called User:Diberville/Disambi, which looks like it lists dab pages. This is just to let you know that Thora is no longer disambiguation, in case you wanted to remove it from your page.  ;-) Leevclarke talk Max_logo_mini.png bulldog_puppy.png 19:49, 11 April 2009 (UTC)

Hey. We now have RuneScape:Orphanage to list disambiguation pages. I've commented out your "disambig" page so that they don't appear in your list anymore. Hope you don't mind. Wink   az talk   15:13, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

Your Signature[edit source]

Signature cop! Dear sir or madam, I'm here to tell you that you're not allowed to have animations and more than two pictures per signature. Said pictures also shouldn't obstruct the flow of text. The current issue at hand is that your signature, if you plan on using one, must link to your userpage in some manner. Please make sure that your signature complies with the requirements. Thank you.  Panjy16 03:32, 4 July 2009 (UTC)
