Tables and Learning Wikiacode

Hello I am somewhat new to editing wikia and I saw your User page and took a peek at your codes. I hope you dont mind. I wanted to understand how you formatted the table with the different colours and the rowspan/colspan thingy. Is it OK if I ask you questions in the future? --Red dragon.png ddraig Aubergine2c (Talk) goch 09:25, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

Absolutely! I'm always glad to help. And it's perfectly fine to study the sourcecode of my userpage, or of any other page on the wiki. If you want, you can even copy my (or someone else's) code, put it on your userpage, and then change things around until it suits you. (Personally, that's what I did. I'm not quite skilled enough to build a userpage like that from scratch, but once you get into it, it's pretty easy to see how the pieces of code fit together.) Anyway, drop in if you've got any questions. --Andorin (Talk) (Contribs) 19:06, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

Oh, I didn't know about that! Thanks for pointing that out. I'll try to do that the next time I need to Thx! -Rollback crown.svg Spencer (Talk | Edits | Contribs) 04:25, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

Title Page

I was wondering if I should change the title page- Un-cut gem to- uncut gem. Also, How do I make a link so that If I type- un-cut gem, it redirects to-uncut gem? thanks! -Rollback crown.svg Spencer (Talk | Edits | Contribs) 22:09, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

Erm... I'm not quite sure what you're asking. Can you link me to the page in question? --Andorin (Talk) (Contribs) 22:34, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
Oh, you meant un-cut gem. I'll ask on IRC for consensus, but that DOES seem weird. --Andorin (Talk) (Contribs) 22:39, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

RE: welcoming comittee

Hey, i never knew that!

Can i join that? Then i will replace all of my welcoming messages (templates).

Buzz (Talk#P ) 06:54, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

Good that i don't have to replace those templates, and yes, that template is used to welcome more then 50 people i think. I will join, and uhmm, wouldn't you replace the assist icon by the smiley icon just like my userpage??
Buzz (Talk#P ) 07:10, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
Changing THE userbox, it has a assist icon right now. My userbox still got the smiley icon, but has the same text as THE userbox right now, i think the smiley will fit into THE userbox, but its totally your choice. =D
Buzz (Talk#P ) 07:25, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
I put the assist icon at the time because I couldn't find anything better. Eh, alright. I'll replace it. --Andorin (Talk) (Contribs) 07:44, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

I was wondering if you can help my user page. I am trying to get a background color for my page, but I keep screwig it up. I would like the color to be a dark red or a maroon, but I can't seem to get it right. Can you help me? Rollback crown.svg Spencer (Talk | Edits | Contribs) 02:40, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

See this page for a list of colors. When you find the one you want, go into your userpage code, to the very top, and replace this:
<div style="margin:0;border:7px solid gray;text-align:left;color:#000;padding:0.2em 0.4em;">
With this:
<div style="background-color:#XXXXXX;margin:0;border:7px solid gray;text-align:left;color:#000;padding:0.2em 0.4em;">
...where XXXXXX is the six-character code of the color you want. The codes can be found on that Wikipedia article next to the names of the colors. (i.e. white is #000000 and black is #FFFFFF.) --Andorin (Talk) (Contribs) 03:03, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, I got the message. I forgot about your reply policy. Thanks for everything! Rollback crown.svg Spencer (Talk | Edits | Contribs) 01:09, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

Hey. Didn't mean to offend you ;]. I know you. I know all about you. You don't give me enough credit. Been around since '02 eh? You and I, we're the last of a dying breed, you know that? RSC Originals who've never deserted Jagex no matter what Jagex has done, whether or not others rioted. I realize my comment about wanting to take you on in the Arena was a bit off-topic in the YG, but I meant it in the most proper way possible. I've only fought a handful of people in the Arena, and I've never had the opportunity to take on a fellow RSC original. So again, I apologize, I didn't mean to sound blatantly full of myself. 03:45, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

Picture on Signature

How do you get a picture on your signature?

All you have to do is add [[File:Image name here.Image filetype here]] to your signature. For example, an icon of an abyssal whip would be [[File:Abyssal whip.png]] and it would show up like this: Abyssal whip.png --Andorin (Talk) (Contribs) 18:10, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

Great thanks! User:I R Zaros I R Zaros 18:15, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

Page article titles

Hey, I just need your opinion on something. A user is moving articles to their real ingame name like Dragonstone amulet to Dragonstone ammy. Is this how it is supposed to be? Or should it be its real name? I couldn't find a policy. Thanks, Chicken7 >talk 06:47, 26 June 2008 (UTC)

In my experience, the page title is supposed to match up to the real in-game name. So yes, moving those pages is alright. I agree with it, in fact. Good of you to check in on it. --Andorin (Talk) (Contribs) 06:48, 26 June 2008 (UTC)

This morning upon awakening I was struck by a completely random and irresistible desire to play RuneScape. I followed that up with revisiting the wiki, and I'm very surprised to see that I'm still sysop. Ah, well, it makes patrolling RC easier. No idea how long I'll be around, but I'm here (site and IRC) for now. ^^ --Andorin (Talk) (Contribs) 20:42, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
Well it always nice to see old users that have been away for awhile. Seems like a lot of defunct admins have been revisiting the wiki recently too (Pointy, Dechaineux, Hynaste, Gangsterls, Couchpotato99, Oddly, Eucarya, and Vimes). Anywho, hope you stay here for awhile longer. :) --Rollback crown.svg Spencer (Talk | Edits | Contribs) 01:30, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

Just wondering, why did you undo that IP's edit (No to 0 was correct)? I didn't notice anything wrong with it. I undid your edit. Did I miss something? Oh and btw are you going to become active again? C.ChiamTalk 06:33, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

I saw. The reason I undid it was because I failed to notice that the infobox says "No. of banks," specifying a number as opposed to whether a bank exists in the area. My mistake. Also, I don't know. I'm certainly here, at least for a little while. --Andorin (Talk) (Contribs) 06:36, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

Well, that was posted on my talk page, was it not? I tend to respond to discussions on the page they were made on, as opposed to the talk pages of the people who made the comments. It makes it easier to see the whole discussion. The template at the top of my talk page mentions that, I believe. --Andorin (Talk) (Contribs) 05:50, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

Bot Vandal

Its had several intresting tricks up its sleeve the past hour, I wouldn't letmy guard down. I remember users named like CS3, and CS34 making legit edits, looking harmless. The names are just like the ones the vandal is using, most recenlty CS6666, it;; apparently likes CS as a prefix. The point is it is probably going to keep trying. Nonetheless, when you add something to a talk page, it is not supposed to be removed except in cases of vandalism. Or bad code and such. All I saw was you pulling a pair of headers, but I guess I'll go check the diff.... --Andorin (Talk) (Contribs) 20:20, 14 February 2009 (UTC)

Well I wouldn't permenantly ban someone unless they...:

a)Upload certain....images (you should know)

b)Refuse to listen to warnings after vandalising and repeated offensive language

For that case...that guy was simply being very immature, so I gave him a 3 month ban as he hasn't one of those.....extreme vandals. But if you want to permaban him, I won't disagree, since I was being sort of...nice by giving him only a 3-month block. C.ChiamTalk 11:16, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

-sighs and points to the template at the top of the page, specifically the section about replies- Anyway, a block pretty much is a warning; it's saying "Don't do that, or this will not be temporary." I'm one of those admins who cracks down on vandalism fairly hard, because frankly it disgusts me that immature kids will waste our time with their BS, since we're all volunteers and whatnot. Yes, I am very anti-vandal, but it's not like I permaban everyone who adds "penis" to an article. Only the people I feel deserve it, and a four-time offender falls into that category. I'm not trying to slap you upside the head or anything by saying this; if you have your own system for determining bans, awesome. I probably was a little ahead of myself by changing the block you gave him, though. --Andorin (Talk) (Contribs) 04:38, 17 February 2009 (UTC)

Can i know why you deleted my page please, I really dont understand ?  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Fire-naj (talk).

Sure thing. Check out the RS:PLAYERS page, which is a part of our policy. That particular bit of policy states that articles about players, or clans, aren't allowed on the site. The reason for this is twofold. One, there are so many players and clans out there, and if we allowed articles about any, we would have to allow articles on all of them, and that could potentially take up more space on the wiki than all of our articles put together. The second is that someone could easily go to your clan page and write "this clan sucks" for some reason. Articles about players, or clans, could be created without that player's or clan's consent, creating issues. You're beyond welcome to write in your userspace about your clan (a page called User:Fire-naj/Clan or something), but we can't have such articles exist in the main space. --Andorin (Talk) (Contribs) 04:38, 17 February 2009 (UTC)

No, you don't have to add it. You can if you want, but you have to attribute the copyright to Jagex. Honestly, it's not necessary as the wiki states elsewhere (can't remember where atm) that all images and such are copyrighted by Jagex. --Andorin (Talk) (Contribs) 22:29, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

Stinkowing and the Situation on the Yew Grove

"As of right now I am investigating Stinko's contribs, especially the cited examples and the discussion before. Just so everyone knows. Also, Vhosythe, I highly recommend that you back down for a little bit because you really are not in the sort of position that allows you to point fingers."

For you and all other opposers, I have clarified what I meant and responded to accusations of narcissism on my part. You may agree with them or not, but the ones concerning me and my personality are true, as are the comments on the ban I received. HOWEVER, my argument there is that while an extended ban probably would have been justified, in no way did I deserve a permanent ban: the purpose of making the ban permanent was completely arbitrary. If you want to respond to this, please do so here because the Yew Grove is EXTREMELY slow for me.
Proof of:
Influences of Oligarchy on the site:
Threads being locked, people being banned, what is vandalism and what isn't, decided by a select few (admins/sysops).
Influences of Empirical rule:
The decision made by Stinkowing to parry various Wiki rules when he banned me for life (I already explained this above).
Influences of a genuine consensus:
