AmauriceBot[edit source]

Oh, do you need to be notified of Exchange: namespace moves for your bot? I talk paged az and spoke to ty in game. Forgot about you. Sorry! MolMan 13:12, January 22, 2014 (UTC)

Search Autocomplete[edit source]

Hey,

Just wanted to let you know that I found a bug here in the Runescape Wiki. When you using the search bar to look for something, it will return a page about titles in Runescape, if you don't click the result. You are not able to just type in what you want and hit enter/search.

Example: I type in the search bar "Runite Ore", if I don't click "Runite Ore" in the results that show, it will direct me to a title's page. Only if I click on the result does it take me to the page I want.64.121.103.55 14:43, February 16, 2014 (UTC)

AmauriceBot not updating hiscores[edit source]

Heya, I've noticed that the page that the bot should be updating hasn't changed since February 19th. Since then I've gained 140+ levels overall, so I think there's something wrong there. Could you take a look at it, please? Thanks in advance. 120 skill capes of true mastery[edit source]

Yo, It seems that 120 skill capes of true mastery will be winning by a landslide.  Are there any plans on adding a table like the one at https://runescape.wiki/w/Skill_mastery to https://runescape.wiki/wiki/True_skill_mastery to reflect the amount of people with the 120 virtual level? Quest point cape.png Qazwsx753421Talk 07:30, March 21, 2014 (UTC)

How does your bot count the number of players with 99s and 200m? I'm not interested in its code, per se, more so if it'd be possible for your bot to begin counting the number of people with virtual 120 in each skill (104,273,167+ xp)? I'm not sure if this idea has ever come up before, but it seems very relevant (and neat to have) with the way the 120 capes poll is going. MolMan 13:33, March 21, 2014 (UTC)
Oh my. My original message was left without seeing this one. I've just moved it to under his. I didn't mean to seem like we're pestering you ;) MolMan 13:35, March 21, 2014 (UTC)
Neat! And thanks! I AM GOING TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF 120 MAGIC BY 1!!!! MolMan 12:01, March 28, 2014 (UTC)

User:AmauriceBot/Log[edit source]

Hi, someone moved File:D&D icon.png to File:D&D map icon.png. Could you update AmauriceBot to use the new icon? Thanks, cqm 12:23, 21 Mar 2014 (UTC) (UTC)

Adventurer's log autoupdate[edit source]

Hey, I made the page User:IsobelJ/AdvLog to autoupdate the Adventurer's Log on my user page, but neither that page or my userpage are updating. Could you take a look and see what's wrong? Thanks Magic logs detail.pngIsobelJTalk page 15:56, March 31, 2014 (UTC)

Highscores[edit source]

Hey sorry to bother you again, but could you please look at my userpage? I have tried to add highscores to it and I'm not sure why they aren't appearing there. Thank you Magic logs detail.pngIsobelJTalk page 06:42, May 19, 2014 (UTC)

Lua[edit source]

Also posted to User talk:Azliq7.

Hi :) you may have seen Forum:Scribunto by now, if not it's a way for us to simplify our templates and make them much faster. Some of our worst performing templates are related to ExchangeItem, what I'd like to do is move all the data to the Module ns where it can be accessed by Lua for various operations to be performed upon it. A rough implementation of what I'd like to do can be seen at w:c:camtest:Module:Exchange, a replacement for , and bar which stores the data currently found on exchange pages. I'd also like to move the data subpages in the Exchange ns to something like Module:Exchange/Iron bar/data - it doesn't make sense to load it along with all the other data in my mind, especially considering the sheer volume of data points.

There's various other stages to moving all the data over, but all I really need to know for now is if you'd be willing to alter your exchange updating script(s) on your bot to the new format. It won't be for a couple of weeks, but I thought I'd ask sooner rather than later. Thanks, cqm 14:49, 8 Jun 2014 (UTC) (UTC)

Hello! SPEAKING OF WHAT CAM SAID!!!
I'm converting the hiscore count templates to Lua (and I will eventually get to converting the user stats stuff). The hiscores stuff is located at Module:Hiscore counts. If you don't mind, can you update the bot to edit the module page instead. It should be fairly easy enough. When the bot is completely updated, you can just revert the template to my latest versions. Everything works perfectly like it did before (except more efficiently) and it just needs the bot updated to be editing the module page for everything to be complete. MolMan 20:39, June 12, 2014 (UTC)
Thanks. Also thanks for adding those 2 sets of data. I knew I was forgetting one (200m), the other, I just didn't even know I forgot. As for Charms. I'm thinking we're going to obsolete the Charm namespace lol. I have a plan in mind which involves replacing all transclusions of the and replacing them with Monster which will invoke the the 'table' view of the Module. Half Template:Charm log header will be replaced with the 'submissions' view of the module. When I tested, the submissions script didn't load, it just brought me to the charm page. I'll need to figure that out later with cam/juey, since I don't know js. Speaking of, don't start prepping anything for your bot to change anything, because I want a thorough discussion with cam first for how exactly we'll do this, since he's been the man leading us all through this lua business. MolMan 17:28, June 15, 2014 (UTC)
I think you can start working on the bot now, but I have some specific instructions for syntax. Most of it you probably already know, but there's a change I'm making to a variable and it's crucial it gets done right:
local charm_data = {
    ["log"] = "User:The Mol Man/Buttwad/Charm_log", -- Wiki page for submissions
    ["charms"] = 1, -- Number of charms dropped per kill
    ["kills"] = 1337, -- Number of kills
    ["gold"] = 69, -- Number of gold charms
    ["green"] = 69, -- Number of green charms
    ["crimson"] = 69, -- Number of crimson charms
    ["blue"] = 69, -- Number of blue charms
    ["boss"] = true -- Is the monster hard to kill in large quantities?
}

return charm_data
--
That is what every data page should look like, I'm sure you've seen most of it. But the big change I'm making is changing the poorly named "rare" variable. The variable should be renamed to "boss" and its value should become a boolean, rather than yes; like before, it can be removed completely if it's false. This means no quotes/apostrophes. As for " v ', I'm inclined to use " because there are probably a number of charm logs that use ' in their name, which would cause problems if the string were enclosed with that. This will make it easier for you to program (not that it'd be too hard to test), and will keep the pages consistent. I also left the categorization in there. It's fairly cool that it's easy to keep by just using a comment.
As for rolling this change out, I want to do a lot of nitpicking first, and I still need cam to fix the charm submissions. For when we do, I think I'm going to have the data copied over first, then the templates, then fixing mainspace usage. I think that should fix everything without anyone noticing.
  • I already explained what needs to be done with data pages.
  • Every template is being replaced with an invoke, that's obvious
  • I'm going to replace charm calls on mainspace drops sections with Monster. When I'm completely ready for the change, this template will redirect to Template:Charm data. But I'm having an alias that sounds nice for the pages.
I think that's everything, but I'm not sure. I have testing to do today with the shit, and if there's anything else that comes up, I'll be sure to tell you if it's relevant to how you're going to help. Speaking of, thanks for offering to change Charm pages to Module data pages. I really wanted to keep the data on Charm pages but just change their formatting. Unfortunately, require can only fetch data from Modules, so the only other way would be the same thing as transclusion (as dev wiki explained it). Not willing to sacrifice efficiency for irrelevant convenience. MolMan 12:19, June 16, 2014 (UTC)

Auto-updating of hiscore and advlog data[edit source]

Do you have an idea to why User:KDanger's hiscore data and adventure log data doesn't get updated with AmauriceBot? Prayer-icon.pngTyiloTalkQuest.png 12:05, August 2, 2014 (UTC)

I give full permission for any edits you may have to make on any of my userpages Zaros symbol.png KDanger Talk 12:14, August 2, 2014 (UTC)

The user page looks okay. The reason for it not being updated is that it failed for a couple of weeks back around April 2013. Maybe the KDanger player was not a member (or something like that) for that period of time, so was not listed on the highscores. After a couple of weeks of failing, the bot will record that the user page has failed and does not try again. I have deleted KDanger from the failed list, so it should update okay now. Yeah i had a break in membership, damm jagex and there removing of f2p from the highscores!, thanks for fixing it :) Zaros symbol.png KDanger Talk 09:49, August 3, 2014 (UTC)

Hiscores not updating[edit source]

Hi, I noticed the Hiscores on my user page haven't been updating (the xp scores you get when you hover over the levels). Do you know why that is? I've not had any breaks in membership.

Exchange modules[edit source]

I've centralised the discussion on the conversion on Module talk:Exchange. I'd appreciate it if you could add any ideas/thoughts prior to the change as I don't want to get a few days/weeks down the line to discover something major need changing. Thanks, cqm 00:38, 28 Nov 2014 (UTC) (UTC)
