Changes to Player-owned-ports page based on your voyage time data[edit source]

In the discussions page on POP, I added a suggested change to the "Regions" table based on  your recent discussion posting. You might want to look at it & in fact could help make it better. (I noticed you managed to use fancy split headings in the table you posted; I think those would be useful here.)

Haystacks (talk) 20:11, January 3, 2013 (UTC)

I looked at the source in your table (on "Speed Caps") and updated mine. I've now put the new table in the "Regions" section of the player-owned ports guide. You're still welcome to look at it & comment/edit of course. Haystacks (talk) 00:03, January 4, 2013 (UTC)
I've got a followup question to the update you made to the POP page. You wrote "speed limits are 20% higher" for scroll, trade goods, and unlock missions. Does this mean both the Min speed and Max speed are 20% higher (e.g. 1224 and 1656 for voyages in the hook)? FYI, I'm not sure of the etiquette of how conversations are conducted on these wiki pages so I'll post both here & in my own Talk. Haystacks (talk) 22:26, January 4, 2013 (UTC)
You said " half way between min and max speed actually gives a time a bit faster than half way between min time and max time". This would make sense if this were really speed, and time = distance/speed. In that case, you'd expect that for a speed half-way between min and max, the voyage times would be 24.8, 59.7, 119.7, 239.5, 479.5, and 958.4 minutes for the different regions, whereas the average of the times would be 25.5, 61.0, 122.5, 245.0, 490.5, and 980.5 minutes. I'll try to arrange a non-limited speed on one of my next voyages and check this.
In the meantime, I changed the wording to clarify both min and max speeds are affected by the +25%, and I'll also change the wording to be more qualitative -- for now I'll probably just say "...the time varies smoothly, e.g. if the speed is half-way between the min and max speeds, the time will be roughly halfway between...". I'm not sure if most readers would appreciate more detail than that.Haystacks (talk) 00:51, January 5, 2013 (UTC)
I just sent out two voyages to the Hook at speeds of 1143 and 1266. The game predicted voyage times of 1:53 = 113 minutes and 1143 = 125 minutes. Predicted times assuming the speeds behave as speeds are 113.44 and 125.74 minutes, respectively. Predicted times if I interpolated linearly (instead of interpolating in 1/speed) would have been 115.72 and 128.36 minutes respectively. So it seems like the game is taking a distance divided by speed, clipping either the time or the speed, and then maybe flooring it. Perhaps the flooring explains why the first two cases have slightly different ratios of max and min times.Haystacks (talk) 01:11, January 5, 2013 (UTC)

Seed logs[edit source]

Do you think your bot could be updated to maintain those Jadinko/Data pages (e.g. [[Diseased jadinko/Data]]) in the same way it does charm pages? I remember speaking with joeycaek a long while back about him making a submissions script; he wanted to know the benefits, I named a couple, nothing happened (though I suppose my silence puts me at blame). It benefits both the contributors and us counter vandals. The former because I bet it is quite the hassle to have to update all those numbers manually; the latter because it'll be easier to tell when an edit is constructive. Ideally, we'd keep all the current data per AGF and the data itself would go in the Charm namespace like all the charm data; sounds reasonable but I can't say I know much about the mechanics. Truth be told: These pages aren't updated too often and not implementing this won't be the end of the world, but it'd still be a nice change for the better. MolMan 11:13, January 22, 2013 (UTC)

Error on Your Port Page[edit source]

I believe you swapped around the Chi and Lacquer requirements for the items at the bottom of your Port page. 19:59, January 23, 2013 (UTC)

Thanks - fixed now. Smile Amaurice talk 20:55, January 23, 2013 (UTC)

Template:Progress autoupdate[edit source]

It's appearing as an unused template, is it still in use or going to be? Or can it be deleted? Or would you do me the liberty of putting it in an orphanage? MolMan 19:39, March 1, 2013 (UTC)

Bird's nest logs[edit source]

In Forum:Bird's nest Loot Log, the idea to have bird's nest loot logs has been proposed, possibly along with jadinko loot logs (I've never been to jadinko's so I'm not sure what that would entail). I was wondering if you would be willing to extend AmauriceBot's task list to include updating a potential Data: namespace page from an existing log, in the same way Charm logs are updated? Thanks, cqm 08:43, 13 May 2013 (UTC) (UTC)

Re: Hiscore data[edit source]

Explain please :PKinglink15 (talk) 22:04, May 26, 2013 (UTC)

I would also like to receive an explanation. Temujin 09:40, June 18, 2013 (UTC)

Template:Hiscore autoupdate[edit source]

Is your bot no longer responding to this template? I just noticed my stats haven't updated since February. Michagogo (talk) 13:45, June 21, 2013 (UTC)

Ah, thanks. Any idea why that might have been? Michagogo (talk) 18:59, June 22, 2013 (UTC)

RE:Vorago charm drops[edit source]

It's a bad temporary fix to the problem. Vorago drops between 5 and 25 charms at a time (1-5 sets of 5), so I'm not quite sure how to handle it with out current setup. Suppa chuppa Talk 21:17, July 11, 2013 (UTC)

The drops have to be multiples of 5. It's up to 5 drops of 5 charms. Suppa chuppa Talk 16:06, July 13, 2013 (UTC)
And I'll see if I can work something out. Suppa chuppa Talk 16:06, July 13, 2013 (UTC)
I just noticed that Amauricebot hasn't updated charm logs for a while now. Any ideas what's going on? Suppa chuppa Talk 15:18, August 5, 2013 (UTC)
Ah, okay. Perhaps I thought that the bot was supposed to run more frequently than it really does. The charm logs seem to be fine. Suppa chuppa Talk 14:01, August 8, 2013 (UTC)

Divination Goal[edit source]

Hey there, i borrowed your table to track the divination experience to go. I hope you don't mind, it is a really handy table! Dragon dagger.png AmoVos 22:24, August 27, 2013 (UTC)

Hiscore ranking auto update[edit source]

Hey Amaurice.

I've been working on some of the hiscores stuff on the wikia lately and I was wondering if there was a way that a bot could keep up to date the number of players ranked in a skill and the minimum level/experience to be ranked in a skill. It would namely be for the hiscores page, but could be incorporated into individual skills pages, too. Let me know. Thanks. This is the page I'm currently working on.

RE: Auto updating stats[edit source]

If you can fix hsdata subpage that would be very helpful thank you, i've been looking at other users auto updataing hsdata and it looks completely different to the one in the guidelines so i tried changing it around and got myslf in a awful mess. Thank you very much for the fix, it looks a whole lot better now. ZarosCuruvarTalkRunecrafting.png 10:15, September 22, 2013 (UTC)

No longer updating[edit source]

Hi Amaurice, it appears that your bot is no longer updating [[User:Temujin96/Stats|my stats page]]. I'm not entirely sure why it has done this, but please fix it. Thanks. Temujin 12:11, September 26, 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for that. Temujin 01:42, September 27, 2013 (UTC)
