New Account[edit source]

Hey 3AF, your userpage says that you are the 3rd age farcaster, and that you lost your old account's password? If this is the case, you can contact Wikia and request that they email you a new password for that account. From there, you can change it to what you like, and get your account back. ajr 20:04, June 4, 2010 (UTC)

Ouch, I'm sorry man =(. I hope that the above will be of help. The slow response was no real issue. Good luck with your recovery. Kong No Foo 20:53, June 17, 2010 (UTC)

Civil[edit source]

Please be civil. Thanks. C.ChiamTalk 08:56, June 27, 2010 (UTC)

As Chicken mentioned after you left your reply on my talkpage, it wasn't so much the use of the phrase "GTFO" (although it did contribute), it was the tone in which you put your message across, which was quite rude. C.ChiamTalk 12:18, June 28, 2010 (UTC)

RE: 3rd age farcaster[edit source]

If you didn't register an email address to it I don't think you can do anything without remembering the password yourself. Sorry. Quest.png Gaz Lloyd 7:^]Events!99s 18:41, June 27, 2010 (UTC)

"How to run Jagex"[edit source]

This seems more like your wishlist if you ask me. But here's what I think about some of it:

500 for f2p? There's no way they need that much. I could see giving it to p2p, but I think they should get it based on time being a member/playing. It costs money to have the memory to give players more items, so it should be fair that people who have been giving them money for longer get a little more kick out of it.

Price Floors/Roofs:

I pretty much can't argue here. Jagex should stay the **** out of the market.

Destroy item:

Umm...yes annoying, but then you can get duplicates of anything (which I kind of, so I guess I agree with you.

Sorry, I'm a ridiculous high level (meaning preposterous, not ridiculously high level), I think we should have 2 updates a month, low/medium levels can be combined, or occasionally we can get something that benefits all three. It would be good encouragement to become a high level.

Price manipulation:

First, I agree with you. I think an outright ban on clan merching is a great idea (making every form of it reportable.) But...I don't think you should be able to cap the number of items people have. Solo merching is fine. It generally aids the market. No, I don't see any reason people needs these numbers, but just leaving them alone is fine.

Fix the herb glitch:

I didn't even know this was going on, but hell yes it needs to be fixed now.

Fix the longrange glitch:

Same exact thing as above.

Alright...So yeah. Some are pretty nice. I'd certainly take most of this over the updates we have been getting lately (forums??!??!!? WTFFFFFF and climbing boots~!!?!?? Jagex is on crack to be honest). HaloTalk 16:03, June 29, 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, no problem. If you want your original account's signature:
  • Go to your preferences
  • Check "Custom Signature"
  • Put {{SUBST:Nosubst|Signatures/3rd age farcaster}} in the box.
It should work...if it doesn't you can always just use {{Signatures/3rd age farcaster}} by manually typing it out. HaloTalk 17:18, June 29, 2010 (UTC)
Try it except with {{SUBST:Nosubst|Signatures/3AF}} now. I made another template for it. And make sure to double check everything. Because it should be working. HaloTalk 17:24, June 29, 2010 (UTC)
Hey, just wanted to pop in here. Most of the people who "hate" your ideas are joking, and probably think they're being funny. Don't take 'em seriously. ʞooɔ 00:44, July 1, 2010 (UTC)

Wise old man's tasks[edit source]

Hello, you can still get tasks from the Wise Old man by talking to him and saying "What did you ask me to do?", and he will tell you what he needs. Try that :D Recent uploads SpineTalkGuest book 15:32, July 7, 2010 (UTC)

Re:wom's tasks[edit source]

O_o I remember now...I asked him for a task before I finished Love Story, so maybe thats why I can still get tasks. Sorry :( you should go to RS forums and tell Jagex about that. Recent uploads SpineTalkGuest book 17:12, July 7, 2010 (UTC)

Re:closing[edit source]

The reasoning you were using for removing the essay is the same reasoning that was being used to oppose the change from DBAN to DBAD. Look at the reasons you presented. If the policy was still called DBAN, would any of them be a good argument for removing the essay? let's examine.

If a dick is interpreted as a extreme troll, then every one knows not to be one, and an essay is unnecessary. furthermore, its very vague- on the wiki, about the only way to be an "extreme troll" is to vandalize, which is a separate issue that doesn't need to be repeated.

DBAD has nothing to do with vandalism, it has to do with users whoa are intentionally causing a disruption in the community, usually for their benefit.

As for being a "dick" during a discussion, can we not just say "be mature" or "be constructive"? What are "dicks" not able to do under DBAD that they are able to do under what i stated above?"
Next, I consider it unprofessional and immature to use "dick". I know it gets used alot and people are "used to it" as well as likely "not offended by it", but would you use it in a normal encyclopedia, a news report, an advertisement, etc when it wasn't really necessary and could easily be replaced by a different, or less offensive word?

These are simply arguing against "dick", not against the essay.

As for harshness, people are used to this. If someone is trolling, this is exactly the response they want to get. Thus, I do not see a use for it.

The essay is not meant to be an angry response, which is what a troll would be looking for. The essay is meant to let people know, "hey, you're being a real stick-in-the-mud here, cut it out". Someone who is being highly disruptive and obviously looking for a reaction would not be referred to DBAD, that would not be appropriate.

As you can see, you are not making a case for the removal of the essay, you are making a case against the use of the word "dick". This issue was addressed and has been resolved, further discussion will just bog down his issue and lead to animosity between the opposition and support. If you want the essay gone, you need to make an argument that addresses the issues caused by the essay itself, not the name. Hope that clears things up. --Aburnett(Talk) 01:55, July 8, 2010 (UTC)

The same argument cannot be made for noob, if you find noob to be that "unprofessional and immature", then I really don't know why you are playing an online game and editing an online encyclopedia. After reading over my points again, I do see how I was slightly contradictory/unclear, so I will explain. When I talked about "users who are intentionally causing a disruption in the community, usually for their benefit." I mean someone who was doing things such as purposely stalling a proposal, reverting others edits, or altering or manipulating discussions. This person is acting like a "dick", and should be told to stop. When I said "Someone who is being highly disruptive and obviously looking for a reaction would not be referred to DBAD", I meant that someone who was making personal attacks or vandalizing and is obviously looking for a reaction from user or the community would not be called a "dick", the would be warned that they were heading towards a block. I will say again, if you want the essay gone, you need to make an argument that addresses the issues caused by the essay itself, not the name. --Aburnett(Talk) 20:50, July 7, 2010 (UTC)
DBAD is not going to be included anywhere within the encyclopedia itself, it is only a part of the community aspect of this site. Users can and have attempted to stall discussions, and there are a number of ways to do it, as RS:GTS explains. Reverting others edits could be considered vandalism, but obviously in the scenario I am talking about they are not severe enough to be considered that. I'm not going to continue arguing this and having you pick apart my every word, finding every possible flaw in my reasoning just so I have to continue to defend my actions. The topic has been closed for now, if you find new and unexamined issues that have to do with the policy itself and not the name, feel free to open a new topic. --Aburnett(Talk) 18:07, July 8, 2010 (UTC)

Less calm wikians[edit source]

I have read your comments on the RFA and I was was wondering what you meant my more aggressive wikians? 16px‎AtlandyBeer.png 17:54, July 9, 2010 (UTC)

I do agree that supporting or opposing with no valid reasons is lame. I was wondering if you were referring to the lack of participation on some issues/RFA's/ Etc 16px‎AtlandyBeer.png 18:18, July 9, 2010 (UTC)
I do agree that I would love to see some admins and crats be more active. I do think that many read what is going on, but like myself, do not see the need, nor care, to comment. For example; The DBAD discussion I could care less fight over something like that is silly, in my opinion. If someone brings up Admins being re-examined, of certain RFA's, or making articles look better then I am interested. Finally, when it comes to Halo, I have said my piece on his RFA and will only talk about him on there in fairness to him. 16px‎AtlandyBeer.png 18:31, July 9, 2010 (UTC)

Re:Calm Down[edit source]

As much as I agree with you. More is expected of sysops. Because they are "leaders in the community" per se. People look up to them and no amount of policies will change that. I hate that, because I don't really want people looking up to me. I just find that it would be useful to be able to move images/add protection to pages, stuff like that. I don't care about the clan chat rank or blocking people as both of those things are covered so much already. But that's the way things go, so I'm just gonna try and make the best of it. Re:Regarding Squeak[edit source]

Please reread the squeak article. None of that is speculation. Not once does it say it is going to be released, or is confirmed for next year, or anything like that. My argument is that it's part of RuneScape's history, and we should strive to cover as much information as possible. I commented again on the RfD. Chicken7 >talk 07:58, July 29, 2010 (UTC)
