Vandalism[edit source]

Hello, 2.217.18.248, it appears that you have been vandalising the RuneScape Wiki. Vandalism includes:

  • Adding offensive comments to pages.
  • Removing or blanking content from pages or templates.
  • Adding nonsense to articles or creating nonsense pages.
  • Purposefully adding incorrect information to articles.
  • Attacking another user.
  • Advertising outside websites.
  • Breaking or encouraging others to break Jagex's game rules.
  • Continually breaking RuneScape Wiki policies.

If you have been or are doing this, please stop and try to make useful contributions or you will be blocked. If you have already been blocked and you feel that the block was unfair, please contact a sysop by leaving a message on your talk page. A sysop will read your appeal and make a decision.

If you were blocked, you are more than welcome to return after your block expires and make helpful contributions. Thank you. Aburnett(Talk) 01:18, April 24, 2011 (UTC)

i dident know that it would actully come up i was just bored and trieing things out :/

Well you're blocked for a week now. Suppa chuppa Talk 01:29, April 24, 2011 (UTC)

I was just scrolling through the recent changes, and noticed this guy was blocked for a week. This should be reduced to one day. We shouldn't be biting the newcomers, they are still getting to know this Wiki. The changes this guy made obviously weren't good faith, but be serious. He made two small changes and one big one (as far as I'm concerned), one of which wasn't factually inaccurate (the first one). This is definitely not enough to warrant this kind of block. Smithing 01:54, April 24, 2011 (UTC)

Absolutely not. He deserves every second of that block. His abuse log entry might be of interest here. Suppa chuppa Talk 01:58, April 24, 2011 (UTC)
What exactly did he do? Try blanking a page twice? That would still be biting a newcomer, as far as I'm concerned (he was only given two warnings, if I'm not correct). Smithing 02:03, April 24, 2011 (UTC)
He added sixty thousand characters to an article. That sort of crap can crash peoples' browsers. The block is justified. --Andorin (Talk) (Contribs) 02:08, April 24, 2011 (UTC)
I realize that his actions aren't good faith, but what he said may be correct. He wasn't given a warning after he made his first very minor piece of vandalism. This may have led him to believe that his edits have to be approved first etc.(some wikis don't allow IP's to edit, or require a user to approve of any edits they make), and he may have not realized this until he was blocked (do messages come up after an IP's has messages?). I'd say only a three day block is justified, as giving them a block just further discourages them from editing. The length of block you think is justified just depends on your views. Smithing 02:21, April 24, 2011 (UTC)
I really hope you're kidding. He was given a warning after every edit he made. Suppa chuppa Talk 02:24, April 24, 2011 (UTC)
Yea, my jokes always come out serious. But I still think that he should be given a three day block, don't bite the newcomers yo.Smithing 02:28, April 24, 2011 (UTC)
I gave him a 4 day bonus. --Aburnett(Talk) 02:55, April 24, 2011 (UTC)
That's a good way of thinking about it... Smithing 02:57, April 24, 2011 (UTC)
