I think it makes the most sense for me to post a new message at the top of your page, which is your people's bottom. MolMan 22:48, December 14, 2012 (UTC)

Switch template

Please make a /doc for the switch template. D: sssSp7p.pngIjLCqFF.png 03:10, October 15, 2012 (UTC)

Documentation on Template:Switch infobox

The main documentation on your work Template:Switch infobox has been done. Still, I don't understand on some parameters about the template (i.e. type, id). Could you please edit the doc page? Many thanks :) Explore and enjoy the world! TIMMMO Work it with all my heart!++Discuss Sign 16:30, October 18, 2012 (UTC)

Yeah, sorry, I messed up there. I prefer the previous appearance, as the text is bold and blue looks better than grey. I find blue looks very classically Wiki(pedia)'y. How about #1560BD? Ah well. At least we have the template - it's brilliant. Kay, cheers! User_talk:Fswe1 Fswe1 Brassica Prime symbol.png 08:34, October 20, 2012 (UTC)

Number of infoboxes

Apparently we have 52 in use. Who knew? How many of the are worth including I have yet to figure out.

Going back to the [[w:c:starwars:User:Cam|code itself]], will it need any changes to be used here? It seems to be pull the list of templates from another page that should then update the list automatically, so all that really needs to be altered is that list. cqm 23:33,20/10/2012 (UTC) (UTC)

Template cats

Do you think you could take a look at User:Cåm/fillPreloads.js and User:Cåm/customPreload.js to see if we can do the same for Template:Stdpreloads (should the related forum pass)? Making a post on RS:AR doesn't seem like too much effort once the list is finalised. cqm 21:07, 3 Nov 2012 (UTC) (UTC)

Woo, looks gud :D
Now you should make stuff like API.parse('Cake',function(data) { while(1) alert('LOL I GOT TEH CAEK PAEG') }) (gets ?action=parse&page=Cake), API.pageInfo('Cake|Bucket',function(data) { console.log(data) }) (gets ?action=query&titles=Cake|Bucket&prop=all of the possible &props, so you get all info at once), and maybe some more things that can be made easier to do. I think this Dune thingy is gonna be quite useful to have with all teh ezness :D JOEYTJE50TALKpull my finger 13:55, December 2, 2012 (UTC)

Hi Matthew,

I think you got the wrong person. I have never edited the Revenant goblin article!! 05:24, December 25, 2012 (UTC)Kevin

YES, YOU! HI! Now that's out of the way I think your signature keeps breaking numbered/bulleted lists. Just thought you'd like to know. Us Matts have to keep together. User:Exor Solieve 05:30, January 15, 2013 (UTC)

Now the timestamp is on a different line. OMG! User:Exor Solieve 14:51, January 15, 2013 (UTC)
Well, it did it on my guestbook and the second time you posted on my talk. No big deal, just wanted to let you know. Be glad it's not boxing the time and making it look like it's not in wiki code. That was annoying to figure out. D: User:Exor Solieve 00:03, January 16, 2013 (UTC)

woo that looks good :D
I wanna request 1 thingy though, could you make another function that automatically adds a search suggest to an input? So, instead of having to use your ossumsaus script onkeyup, and then using the response to create a search suggest for the box yourself, you can just use an existing function to make the search suggest add to the certain input automatically. So, liek, could you add a function to your tundra thingy that makes it easy to actually add the search suggest to the input box? JOEYTJE50TALKpull my finger 14:00, January 27, 2013 (UTC)

Do I spy a search suggest script that might actually work properly? What do you plan to do with it? cqm 17:36, 27 Jan 2013 (UTC) (UTC)
Okies. Well, this script is gon be ossum :D:D good luck :D JOEYTJE50TALKpull my finger 14:45, February 3, 2013 (UTC)

I just noticed some weird coincidence:

  • Today is 26/02 (in some date formats)
  • Your name is Matthew2602

But it's nothing more than a coincidence; I mean, it's not like 26 February has any significant meaning to you. It's just another day on the calender. It ain't your blurfday or anything like that... But hey, funny coincidence?

Happy 17th MolMan 00:29, February 26, 2013 (UTC)

Huh... I had some pretty reliable statements as well as some solid arithmetic to back that number up, but whatevs. MolMan 19:58, February 26, 2013 (UTC)

It appears I am a little late for birthday celebrations

So I have a bug for you instead. It would appear {{Infobox Bonuses}} is incompatible with the Switch infobox, as seen in the history of Alchemist's amulet. Could you take a look pls? cqm 15:09, 3 Apr 2013 (UTC) (UTC)

Sorry to be a pain

a while back Grater Demons had V1 - V5 Buttons that changed the pic, i was woundering on how to do that? as im gonna start work on

chur librareh

Hey, is your JS library imported in here? if not, Y U NO? I just wanna make sure, cus I was planning to add something to an existing script which just involves simple editing, and if I could just use your library caek that would make it much eazier ^_^ JOEYTJE50TALKpull my finger 20:30, May 6, 2013 (UTC)

I think I'll add teh import to tundra tomorrow or something then. It looks like it can really be useful to make a lot of code much easier, so I'll probably make some of my existing scripts a lot shorter using teh library. :D JOEYTJE50TALKpull my finger 12:12, May 18, 2013 (UTC)
Could you explain what you meant with that last part about the ResourceLoader? Can't we just dump an url in a regular importScriptURI? JOEYTJE50TALKpull my finger 14:04, May 22, 2013 (UTC)

time function

Turns out you can just pass it into javascript's date object. Look how much smaller it is now :D Just that ugly html insertion.

I was wondering, is it advantageous to make the repeated getJSON requests into for loops? getJSON is asynchronous so in theory it makes no change, but I'm not sure if for loops wait until the code within them is completely executed before carrying on. cqm 21:48, 8 May 2013 (UTC) (UTC)

This would suggest the loops only makes it longer if I set it to async: false. Time to try it out :D cqm 12:51, 9 May 2013 (UTC) (UTC)

tundra error

I tried to have a go at making a file move form, but I hit a few problems (largely error handling I built it not working correctly). Tundra throws up the error {code: missingparam ,... message: One of the parameters from, fromid is required, ...}. I can't find the the error message anywhere in the source, so I'm guessing it's a API error code? The script can be found here, please excuse the not-very-finished feel to it, various mixing up of vars, confusing layout, etc.

It'll load from the console, I've been testing it on File:Willowent.png moving it to File:Willow ent.png. I don't think I've messed up the params for tundra, so I'm a little stuck why it doesn't work. I was also looking to implement a check for if the file exists before the request gets processed, to pre-empt any API errors it'll throw up, see // hlpe mattchew and below. cqm 11:42, 3 Jun 2013 (UTC) (UTC)

Common rewrite

I finally pushed the rewrite to the wiki, seems to be working well so far. cqm 10:09, 30 Jun 2013 (UTC) (UTC)

I was thinking about using a switch for loading the scripts and then promptly forgot the syntax for switch. So I googled it and found this instead. It's probably going to be tidier, I just need to get my head around implementing it as an object instead. Thoughts? cqm 19:08, 7 Jul 2013 (UTC) (UTC)

Re: Do you want rollback rights?

I rarely deal with excessive vandalism, and thus rarely need to revert edits. Besides, usually if there was vandalism in a few consecutive edits, they can still easily be reverted in a single action, by editing the original, good version; or by using the "Undo" link on the diff-page. If I have the tools, sure I'll use them when appropriate (and when I've figured out how); but I have little interest in the responsibility that is part of the tools (amongst which bothering with a warning on the user's talk page, etc). I'm simply here as a visitor, a user; editing random pages as I come across them. Aside from complying with them, I have little interest in enforcing or dealing with the rules. IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 10:54, July 7, 2013 (UTC)

wanna do some js yo?

Look at this. We're using the switchfobox to change 3 mundane variables. I hate that, but it's the only way we can do it. But... what if we could make a script that changes just certain parts? Something like one switchinfobox for naming and assigning variables and to use em something like <span id="var-defence"></span>. I dunno, just that off the top of my head. I don't want to get into the details if you're not up for writing it. I'd really like something like this to change a few small numbers instead of having to clutter the wikicode with all this redundant nonsense. MolMan 15:37, July 8, 2013 (UTC)

PLZ work on it... White stag bow - Perfect example of what I need it for. MolMan 15:07, August 17, 2013 (UTC)

I left a note for Joey on what I figured out. I linted it to tidy it up a bit (which seemed to work) but then when I added an onclick function something that used toLowerCase broke quite spectacularly. And Exchange pages were stuck in an infinite loop judging by how badly it was crashing my browser. This is why I hate other people's code (thinks back to ref tooltips). cqm 11:33, 2 Aug 2013 (UTC) (UTC)

RE:Switch Infobox loading weirdly

Yey :3= No kidding about it being an easy fix, lol. Too bad I have no idea how to write/understand code. <.< Seems to be fixed now though. ^-^ sssSp7p.pngIjLCqFF.png 04:38, November 23, 2013 (UTC)

Re: something

Both indexOf and the object conditionals work. Is there a problem? cqm 09:50, 28 Nov 2013 (UTC) (UTC)

Sorry, I'm just about to go out.
I'm guessing your referencing the thing I posted on Talk:SocialIcons (or it might have been it's code talk page). It was to show CzechOut how the object conditional worked as he thought it was a syntax error more than anything else. cqm 10:13, 28 Nov 2013 (UTC) (UTC)
