Dungeoneering Setup Bind Guide

This page is still under construction. If you have a Dungeoneering bind setup you would like to include, stop by my talk page.

Magic/Melee Hybrid Setup (My Favorite Setup)[edit | edit source]

Made by Relin.

Skill Requirements
40 Attack-icon.png
45 Defence-icon.png
40 Ranged-icon.png (Optional)
41/62 Magic-icon.png
43/71 Prayer-icon.png
50 Dungeoneering-icon.png
30/70 Runecrafting-icon.png
48 Fletching-icon.png
40 Smithing-icon.png (Optional)
48 Crafting-icon.png (Optional)

Suggested Setup
Bind 1: Highest Tier Rapier, Longsword, or Battleaxe
Bind 2: Shadow Silk Hood
Bind 3: Highest Tier Chainbody
Bind 4: Any Catalytic Staff for damage or any Elemental Staves for substitutes.
Ammo Bind: Magical Blastbox/Celestial Surgebox
Suggested Class Ring: Tactician/Berserker and Blaster/Blitzer
Recommend Completion: Salt in the Wound for extra 100 Ammo bound slot.

Offensive tactic
Stab, Slash, and Magic if using a Rapier or Longsword. Slash, Crush, and Magic if using a Battleaxe.
Defensive tactic
Powerful Crush defense with moderate Stab, Slash, and Ranged defense bonuses, but weak against Magic and Mysterious Shade.
You can survive many Melee and Ranged attack while maintaining decent Magical accuracy to easily take out any monsters weak against Magic. Safe-spotting is optional.

Description
Defence-icon.png Defense and Weakness
This setup will give you some decent defense against Melee and Ranged, but will not stand against Magic. Your Protect from/Deflect Magic prayer will temporarily cover your Magic weakness. If going up against a Forgotten mage, Necromancer, Seeker, or Reborn mage; it's best to take off your Shadow Silk Hood to prevent them from disabling your cloaking ability from Human NPCs and either run to the next room or dispose them immediately (Recommended).
Mysterious Shades is ALWAYS top priority to kill over all other NPCs, so make sure you dispose it quick.
Magic-icon.png Magic (Primary)
Magical Blastbox/Celestial Surgebox and Shadow Silk Hood will cover ~73%/~86% of the Magic Attack bonus penalty from the Chainbody, but can still hit very often on Zombie, Forgotten warrior, Dungeon spider, and other monsters who's weak against Magic.
Crafting a Catalytic staff or any elemental staff based on what spell you decide to use can cover the rest of the Magic Attack Bonus penalty.
Optional: You can fill the rest of the empty equipment slot with Mage gear for higher Magical accuracy, but you'll risk lowering your overall Melee and Ranged accuracy.
Attack-icon.png Melee (Secondary; Backup style)
If going against high Magic Defense enemies, you can switch to any Melee weapon I suggested. Very effective against Hellhound, Forgotten ranger, Forgotten mage, and other NPCs who's weak against Melee.
Ranged-icon.png Ranged (Optional)
If Magic based NPCs are your problem, you can fletch a bow for yourself and buy/make some arrows to dispose them easily. Your chainbody will not offer Ranged Penalty which it's very effective. This is a must if going against Necrolord or Lexicus Runewright.

Pure Melee Setup (Uncommon Setup)[edit | edit source]

Skill Requirements
40 Attack-icon.png
High Strength-icon.png
45 Defence-icon.png
60 Magic-icon.png
60/70/95 Prayer-icon.png
27/54 Runecrafting-icon.png
50 Dungeoneering-icon.png

Suggested Setup
Bind 1: Highest Tier Two-Hander > Maul (Not recommended)
Bind 2: Shadow Silk Hood
Bind 3: Highest Tier Platebody
Bind 4: Highest Tier Platelegs.
Ammo Bind: Law/Cosmic Runes
Suggested Class Ring: Berserker

Offensive tactic
Slash and Crush if using a Two-Hander, or Crush if using a Maul. If this is your idea of a pure Melee setup; you can take out almost any monsters with high damage.
You can use a Maul for this setup, but going against a high Crush defense monster is the biggest drawback and can take a long time to defeat.
Defensive tactic
Powerful Stab, Slash, and Ranged defense bonus with moderate Crush defense, but this setup is weak against Magic and Mysterious Shade. You can survive many attempted Melee and Ranged attack while rushing through the Dungeon.

Attack-icon.png Melee (Primary)
A combination of high Strength level, Chivalry/Peity/Turmoil, Overload or any Melee Potion, and high Tier Berserker class will result in inflicting very high damage between 300+ and 500+ with a single strike.
However, Maul users need to take this into consideration. You will often have a hard time hitting monsters with very high Crush defense. Take Chainbody Forgotten warrior, Night-gazer Khighorahk, and other Stalker boss for an example. Using a Maul against Night-gazer Khighorahk will take a long time in solo-dungeons; depending on its level. This is why using a Maul is not recommended.
