The Corporeal beast guide

An in-depth analysis and guide by Mugger759 - The first one who soloed Corporeal beast without food, cannon, or glitching

The Fighter hat can be obtained within a few hours as a reward from the Barbarian Assault activity; The Helm of neitiznot can be bought easily at a price of 40-50k. If your internet connection is unreliable, choose the Helm of neitiznot. The Helm of neitiznot is recommended if you have to tank often, or if the Defence of the Corporeal beast is signifciantly drained. The Fighter hat increases your accuracy, and is advised if you're FFAing or if you want to hit more often.

It's not worth using a Pernix cowl or a Virtus mask, because these items do not give any offensive bonus, and only provide a life points boost of just 66.

The Dwarven helmet is a good helm for soloing with a Statius's warhammer. It has the highest magic defence out of these proposed options, and also the highest crush bonus (which increased the accuracy of the Statius's warhammer.

The Max cape and the Completionist cape are not mentioned, in spite of their very high bonuses, because they are very hard to obtain. If you have either of them, prefer them over the displayed capes.

In order to get the Fire cape, you have to defeat the TzTok-Jad at the Fight caves.
Getting an Ardougne cloak requires finishing Ardougne Tasks.
Ardougne cloak 1: Complete all of the Easy tasks; Talk to Dr Orbon in East Ardougne's church.
Ardougne cloak 2: Complete all of the Medium tasks; Talk to the Town crier at the East Ardougne marketplace.
Ardougne cloak 3: Complete all of the Hard tasks; Talk to Aleck at the Hunter shop in Yanille.
Ardougne cloak 4: Complete all of the Elite tasks; Talk to Aleck at the Hunter shop in Yanille.
If you die with an Ardougne cloak, the item does not appear at the floor. You have to talk to the previously mentioned NPCs to get your cloak back. These locations are easily reachable using an Ardougne teleport / Watchtower teleport / Teleport to house (house at Yanille).

All of the Aroudgne cloaks have infinite teleports to the Monastery south of Ardougne. This teleport option is immediately available if you rightclick at the Ardougne cloak at the Equipment tab. Equip an Ardougne cloak 3 or 4 if you've got one. If you've only got an Ardougne cloak 2, you might prefer a Fire cape. In terms of bonuses, the Fire cape is better as the Ardougne cloak 1. However, the Fire cape does not have a useful teleport attached.

The Soul Wars cape has the best Prayer bonus (+12), combined with +9 to all defence bonuses. The cape doesn't have any attack/strength bonuses though. For this reason, Pro teams will not accept Soul wars capes.

The Amulet of glory does have teleport options (e.g. Edgeville and Draynor). Since you're using a Games necklace and/or an Ardougne cloak, this feature is obsolete. The Amulet of fury is the best option without doubt. You shouldn't worry about loosing the Amulet of fury, since few items protect over it. You will only risk the amulet if you take: BGS/SWH + BCP/Morrigan's leather body + Bandos tassets/Morrigan's chaps, without using protect items.

The Melee protection prayers reduces the damage to zero. The damage dealt by magic does still hit through prayer though. Therefore, the defensive bonuses should be aimed at magic.

The Morrigan's leather body offers the best Magic defence (and absorption) bonus, but it's an expensive piece of armour which turns in dust after sixty minutes of use. Morrigan equipment have a relatively high alchemy value, and will protect over most of your items. This body should only be used if you're trying to complete a challenge, such as a Corporeal beast solo without food. If you manage to loose this item upon death, the item will be converted in coins.

A Pernix body offers the same magic defence and absorption bonus as Morrigan, but also a -8 Stab attack bonus. The Pernix body increases your maximum lifepoints by 200. The Virtus robe top also offers this life points boost without a negative stab bonus, and decent defence bonuses too. A higher maximum life points increases the number of restored life points from the Saradomin brew and the Unicorn stallion. Repairing thee bodies costs 100-200k per hour, dependent on your Smithing level.

The Karil's top is recommended in most cases, since it offers the best magical defence after Morrigan. If you die with this top, it 'breaks'. You can repair it at an Armour stand for 45-90k (depending on your Smithing level). If you choose the best equipment, you will loose this piece of armour upon death.

A Black dragonhide body is very cheap, and slightly worse as a Karil's top. If you cannot afford a Karil's top, this body is your best choice. You can also take this body as a substitute for Karil's top when you die.

A Bandos chestplate and Fighter torso are the only mentioned bodies with a Strength bonus. The Fighter torso can be obtained as a reward from the Barbarian assault activiy. These bodies should only be considered if the team is extremely large, such as in Mass teams and large FFA teams.

This bottom should only be used if you're trying to complete a challenge, such as a Corporeal beast solo without food.

A Pernix chaps offer almost equal magic defense as the Morrigan's leather chaps, with a -6 stab attack bonus. The Pernix chaps increases your maximum lifepoints by 134, just like the Virtus robe legs. The smaller defence bonuses of virus are covered by the life points boost, which make Saradomin brews and Healing aura scrolls heal more. Repairing these bottoms cost 50-100k per hour of use.

The Karil's skirt is recommended in most cases, since it offers the best magical defence after Morrigan. If you die with this bottom, it 'breaks', and should be repaired at an Armour stand for 40-80k (depending on your Smithing level). If you choose the best equipment, you will loose this piece of armour upon death.

Black dragonhide chaps are very cheap, and slightly worse as a Karil's skirt. If you cannot afford a Karil's skirt, this bottom is your best choice. You can also take this bottom as a substitute for a Karil's skirt when you die.

Bandos tassets is the only mentioned bottom with a Strength bonusand should only be used if your team is extremely large, like Mass and FFA teams.

There is no doubt about the best item for the Hand slot: The Barrows gloves which can be bought for 100k after full completion of the Recipe for disaster quest offer the best bonuses. This item has a relatively high alchemy value (60k), and will protect over many items, including: Karil's top, Karil's skirt, Dragon boots and Fire cape.

The Onyx ring (i) and the Berserker ring (i) can be bought as a reward from Mobilising armies if you've got a MA rank of at least 300, the Dragonstone ring (i) if you've got a MA rank of at least 200, the Diamond ring (i) if you've got a MA rank of at least 100. Imbued rings are not tradable, and will appear at the floor if you loose them. An Onyx ring (i) protect over most items, including the Divine spirit shield. The Dragonstone ring (i) is cheap, and does not protect over many items. For this reason, the Dragonstone ring (i) is sometimes a better choice: This allows you to take another expensive item without having an extremely high risk, such as an Amulet of fury.

The Ring of vigour can be bought for 50k Dungeoneering tokens, and has the special ability to reduce the special attack usage by 10% (relatively).

The Berserker ring is a tradable ring, with a Strength bonus of only 4. This ring is usually dropped if you die (and after one minute visible to others). Don't take this ring if looters are awaiting.

The Explorer's ring is a reward from the Lumbridge Tasks. The Explorer's ring 3 and Explorer's ring 4 both have a rightclick Teleport option to the Cabbage field south of the Falador allotment patch. This ring will disappear upon death, and can be recollected by talking to Ned at Draynor.

The Ring of Wealth improves the droprate of rare items, including sigils. This ring also have a teleport option to the southern part of the Grand exchange.

You should never equip a Ring of life at Pro teams. Most deaths at the Corporeal beast are caused by combos, while the Ring of life only activates if your life points are low. If you happen to reach a low amount of lifes, you can usually restore your lifes before you die. Thus using a Ring of life is frowned upon.

The Dragon boots are the most useful item for the Feet slot, because it has the highest Strength bonus while no boots with a stab bonus exist. Dragon boots are usually dropped upon death, because of its low alchemy value.

The Zamorakian spear is recommended, because it does not degrade after 60 minutes of use, unlike the Vesta's spear. Vesta's spears are slower as Zamorakian spears, and sometimes used in FFA teams. Don't take Vesta's spear, unless your your accuracy or Strength are low (skill level, lack of Overload or Turmoil): You will have to tank very often if your damage is (much) more as the damage dealt by your team members, because the Corporeal beast prefer to attack players who deal huge damage.

Divine[edit | edit source]

Using the Divine spirit shield can be very beneficial. It's possible to solo the Corporeal beast without defence drain or familiar using this method. It's recommended to use a Divine spirit shield with a Chaotic rapier. Although the maximum hit of the Chaotic rapier is lower than the Rune hasta, it's still faster, and allows you to flash Soul split easily. If you choose to use a Rune hasta, you can only flash Soul split 2 out of 5 attacks.

Bow and Ammunition (stunner only)[edit | edit source]

Every Pro team should have one stunner. A stunner should try to stun the Dark energy core with Emerald bolts (e). See also: Methods > Stunning the Dark energy core

Void knight equipment[edit | edit source]

A full Void Knight equipment (Void melee helm, Void knight top, Void knight robe and Void knight gloves) increases your accuracy and strength by 10%. This equipment does only offer a Magic defence bonus of +85, which is much lower as +109 (Helm of neitiznot, Karil's top, Karil's skirt and Barrows gloves). This lower defence will result in a higher usage of supplies, and is often not accepted in Pro teams.

This equipment proves to be rather useful at FFA teams, where lots of high levels are trying to deal the most damage to get a drop. Using void equipment in a mass team is not wise, because you will have to tank very often (The Corporeal beast likes to attack players who are dealing high damage).

Accuracy is calculated using the Accuracy formula, equipped with RFD gloves, Amulet of fury and Onyx ring (i). These numbers should be read as an accuracy ratio between each other.

A deep analysis of the effectiveness of special attack weapons[edit | edit source]

Accuracy and power of monsters are calculated in a similar way as at players. Equipment statistics can be neglected when the skill level is extremely low. When the stats are not drained, the equipment statistics have a significant meaning in calculating accuracy.
The Corporeal Beast has the following combat statistics:

  • 350 Attack level + High equipment accuracy
  • 350 Strenght level+ No equipment strength
    When the Corporeal beast reaches zero strength, his maximum hit would be zero.
  • 350 Defence level + Low/medium equipment defence
    A small defence drain (2 successful BGS specials) is very noticeable in teams. When soloing, the transition from "unbeatable" to "no defence" is at 3 SWH specials + some BGS specials or just 4 SWH specials.
  • 350 Magic level + Medium/High equipment accuracy
    Magic level does not affect maximum hit. It does affect accuracy, however. Proof
  • 1 Ranged level
    The Corporeal beast has no Ranged attack, but Leech Ranged is still effective
  • A successful BGS special attack hits 200, on average, which accounts for a drain of 20 skill levels.
  • A successful Darklight special attack drains 1+5% Attack, Strength and Defence levels, which equals a drain of 18 and 17 (total -35) with one SA bar, when the Corp hasn't lost any stats yet.
  • A successful SWH special attack drains 1+30% defence, which equals: -106, -74, -52, -36 defence drains on successful attacks.

Additional notes:

  • The emphasized bonuses in the table reflects the preferred attack style with the weapon.
  • Damage doesn't matter when using a SWH or DL. Any hit will result in a fixed defence drain, dependent on the Corporeal beast current defence level.
  • The chance of hitting succesfully is increased if the defence is lower, thus it's wise to ask one team member to use Leech defence, as this curse immediately temporary reduces the defence of the Corporeal beast by 10%.
  • A Ring of vigour reduces the required special attack relatively by 10%: BGS 90%, SWH 32%, DL 45%, D Hally 27%
  • Recover special potions can be used to restore your Special attack energy by 25%. This potion has a cooldown effect of 30 seconds.

Statius's warhammer[edit | edit source]

A SWH can be used for sixty minutes before disappearing. Equiping the SWH starts a new minute. It is recommended to maximize the amount of special attacks before unequiping it. For maximum accuracy, ensure that your Overload and Turmoil effects are at their maximum. The Turmoil effect will maximize if you involve yourself in combat (e.g. by attacking the Corporeal beast).

Without a Ring of vigour:

  • 3 special attacks:
    Minimum special attack energy required: 80%
    1) Equip the Statius's warhammer and Dragon defender
    2) Use two special attack (2x35% = 70% SA used)
    3) Take a sip from a Recover special potion
    4) Use one special attack and unequip the SWH (3x35% = 105% SA used; 25% SA regained)
  • 4 special attacks:
    Minimum special attack energy required: 80%
    1) Equip the Statius's warhammer and Dragon defender
    2) Use one special attack (35% SA used)
    3) Take a sip from a Recover special
    4) Use two special attacks (3x35 = 105% SA used)
    5) Keep the SWH equiped, while assuring your health
    6) Take another sip from the Recover special once the 30 seconds of cooldown have passed. Special attack restores automatically by 10% every 30 seconds, thus you've regained 35% SA energy while waiting.
    7) Use one special attack (4x35% = 140% SA used; 10% + 2x25% = 60% SA regained)

With a Ring of vigour:

  • 5 special attacks:
    Minimum special attack energy required: 98%
    Short overview:
    100% - start
    78% - First SWH special used
    93% - Recover special #1 drunk
    62% - Second SWH special used
    30% - Third SWH special used
    40% - Auto-restore special attack occurs once every 30 seconds
    9% - Fourth SWH special used
    34% - Recover special #2 drunk
    2% - Fifth SWH special used

Equipment for maximum accuracy (Statius's warhammer):



Inventory setup[edit | edit source]

At all setups: You can summon a Spirit terrorbird, and fill it with 4 Saradomin brews. Replace 4 Saradomin brews in your inventory by 3 sharks and 1 Saradomin brew (1). Drink an Overload, eat the three sharks to restore your lifes, and drink the Saradomin brew(1) to boost your lifes. Drop the vial, and fill the four empty inventory slots with the Saradomin brews from the Terrorbird. Dismiss the Terrorbird before entering the cave.

Use House options to delay the timer of Overload (Keeping House options open will pause the Overload (and Special attack restoration) timer).

Luring[edit | edit source]

Warning: A summoning familiar can be devoured by the Corporeal beast. If your BoB familiar is devoured as you enter, the items will be dropped at the spot where you're standing. If the Corporeal beast devours your familiar while you're roaming inside the cave, the items will be dropped at the feet of the Corporeal beast. Either way, the items will disappear after two minutes

The Corporeal beast can be lured to the entrance. To achieve this, follow the following steps:

  1. Activate Deflect magic and Leech defence.
  2. Enter the cave and make sure that the Corporeal beast aims an attack on you.
  3. Exit the cave. You can skip the next step in this list if you are soloing.
  4. See image below Follow the green path to get the Corporeal beast at the right location: The Corporeal beast should stand at the far northwestern corner, allowing your team to enter the cave without getting stomped. The one who enters the cave should take a spot located east of the Corporeal beast, the one who lures should take a spot south of the Corporeal beast. In this way, the Corporeal beast won't walk away. If you take a Terrorbird for Overload (see further), dismiss it near the red dot.

Stunning the Dark energy core[edit | edit source]

Sometimes, the Corporeal beast summons a Dark energy core (aka "Dark core", "Core"), whch inflicts some damage to every player near it. This annoying behaviour can be eliminated by stunning the Dark core. Stunning means poisoning it with Emerald bolts (e), using a crossbow. To stun the core, it's not necessary to deal damage, so it's advised to take a bow with a low accuracy (to avoid one-hitting it). A killed core may be spawned again, which is obviously not desirable. The Mithril crossbow is the best choice, because it's the weakest crossbow which can handle Emerald bolts (e). If you don't have full life points, consider drinking a Saradomin brew, because each dose drains your ranged level by 10%, thus lowering your accuracy.

Steps to stun (pro method):

  1. Dark energy core is summoned. The Dark core usually jumps to a random spot (where no players are standing).
  2. Use F1 to quickly access your Inventory and equip your Mithril crossbow.
  3. Use F5 to quickly switch to your combat screen and activate Rapid.
  4. Carefully watch the Dark core. It will jump to one of the players inside the cave.
  5. Hold your cursor at the targeted player's spot. If the Dark core has landed, you can attack the Dark core to attempt stunning it. The Core will jump again if the player moved while the stunning attempt failed. If the player didn't move while the stunning attempt failed, he will frequently (about twice every second) get hit a small amount of damage (~80).
  6. If the stunning attempt succeeded, a green smoke will appear around the Dark core. If the Dark core is tanked, you can safely unequip your bow.
  7. Tanking the dark core: Once stunned, the Dark core will not move for a few seconds. However, if no player is standing near it, he will jump again and jump.

Stunning while soloing / Stunning while the Dark core jumps to you:

  1. You have already equiped your Mithril crossbow, using the method described earlier.
  2. Run at least two spots away.
  3. The Dark core jumps to your previous spot. Hold your cursor above your previous location.
  4. Once the Dark core has landed, attack the Dark core and use the rightclick option (Walk: Dark Energy core) to run back to your previous spot.
  5. If the core is not stunned, repeat from step 3.
  6. If the core is stunned, unequip your bow (by equiping your spear)

Notes:

  • A stunned core will still hit, but at a much smaller rate.
  • In teams: If the Dark core landed at your spot and isn't stunned in 1-2 attempts, run away to save food. It's of no use to keep tanking the damage if the stunner isn't stunning, or if the bolts aren't working
  • The Emerald bolts (e) will sometimes fail. Just stun until the effect is occuring.
  • If you equip the Zamorakian spear, the attack style will be returned to the previous style (If you've switched to Rapid).



Soul splitting[edit | edit source]

The Soul split curse heals you if you inflict damage. To make use of Soul split without taking melee damage, you have to time your attack. If your timing is wrong, keep Deflect melee activated, and click at the floor. After having clicked at the floor, click at the Corporeal beast to attack again. You should hit the Corporeal beast after the Corporeal beast uses an attack on you. If you've timed well, you can Soul split until your timing becomes bad: E.g. by drinking potions or stunning the dark core. Repeat the Timing attempt until the order is fine again.

Summoning[edit | edit source]

You should only take Summoning familiars at large teams (such as FFA), because the Corporeal beast does devour (=eat) them.

The Unicorn stallion familiar (88 Summoning) is the most commonly used familiar, because of its healing ability.

BoB familiars (Bull ant, Spirit terrorbird, War tortoise, Pack yak) will place the items they're holding at the floor, near the feet (=inside!) of the Corporeal beast. There's one exception: If your BoB familiar is devoured when you enter the cave, the items will be dropped at the spot where you entered.

Since 1 February 2011, the dropped items will disappear after two minutes. Two minutes won't be enough to take lots of items from the floor, a Spirit Terrorbird seems to be the best BoB familiar (cheap and 12 extra slots).


TIP: Always take a terrorbird after banking. Fill it with 4 Saradomin brews, and place 3 sharks and 1 Saradomin brew (1) in your Inventory. After you've taken a sip of Overload, eat the three sharks to recover your lifes, and quickly take a sip from the Saradomin brew (1) to boost your lifes. Don't forget to dismiss your bird.

Shortly after these steps, your combat skills will be boosted by Overload (Overload boosts your skills every 15 seconds).

Team[edit | edit source]

The methods below are aimed at pro teams. The tactics below can also be applied to other teams, however.

Requirements and characteristics of Pro teams[edit | edit source]

Pro team's main method[edit | edit source]

See Inventory setup for pro teams.
Quick prayers: (Protect items), Turmoil, Deflect melee
Enter the cave with (Protect items), Deflect magic and Turmoil. When you're almost at the Corporeal beast, switch to Deflect melee. If the Corporeal beast doesn't attack you, switch back to Deflect magic. Spread your team in a ring around the Corporeal beast, to minimize the damage dealt by the multi-target magic attack.

If the Corporeal beast attacks you, switch to Deflect melee: this prayer blocks all of his melee damage. Many players are still using Protect from magic / Deflect magic, sometimes combined with running away. This is a bad practice, for the following reasons: If one runs away, the Corporeal beast will only use Magic attacks, which is not fully blocked by prayer. Even if a player doesn't run away, he has a higher chance on dieing due a combo: A magic attack, followed by a Melee attack. During the fight, you can save Saradomin brews by using Soul split. Very skilled players can even use Soul split while they are tanking: Click here for more details.

Drink Saradomin brews, if necessary. If you're not using Soul split, drink whenever you can, while bearing in mind that your Magic defense is dependent on your Magic level. Saradomin brews drain your Attack, strength, defence, Magic and ranged by 10%, while Overload does only restore a maximum of 7 Magic. If you drink lots of brews at once, your defense against the Corporeal beast's magical attacks will deteriorate.

Try not to run below the Corporeal beast, because of his Stomp attack. The Corporeal beast will deal huge damage, and you get the message: "You get trampled under the Beast's massive legs."

If a Dark energy core appears, the stunner should stun it. Don't tank (=stand near core to take damage) the core if the stunning attempt fails: just run away (but stay in the melee range of the Corporeal beast). After the Corporeal beast has died, take the right spots, see the image below:

The 5x5 square, marked by white dots, is the usual spawn point of the Corporeal beast. This spawn spot can be easily identified by looking at the floor: The right part of the northern grave marks the northwestern corner of the spawn spot. The vertical line of squares, north of the southern grave marks the 'safe' line of spots at the southern part of the Corporeal beast spawn spot.

As of 28 March 2011, the spot northeast of the spawn square is clickable again. This spot have been glitched for over two years O_o.

Pro team's stunner[edit | edit source]

Alternative quick prayers: Leech defence and Leech magic instead of Turmoil. Leech magic and defence immediately drain the Corporeal beast's Magic and Defence by 10%, increasing to a maximum of 25% over time. Draining the Magic level of the Corporeal beast will decrease the accuracy of his Magic-based attacks. Draining the Defence level of the Corporeal beast will increase the accuracy of your team members to kill the Corporeal beast.

FFA[edit | edit source]

Players who are (close to) max melee (99 Attack and Strength) may prefer FFA teams. A FFA team consists of many players, together fighting the Corporeal beast in a non-LootShare world. Because of their large number, using a Summoning familiar becomes worthwile. No-one is going to stun the dark core, so you have to dodge it when it jumps near you. It's advised to have the best armour to maximize your chance on getting loot. Your Quick-prayer should be at Turmoil and Deflect magic. You attack style should be set to the first option (Lunge), to boost your accuracy.

Armour[edit | edit source]

In smaller teams, players should wear armour which offer an effective defence against the Corporeal beast's attacks. Taking much damage will lead to healing early. Saradomin brews heal you, at the cost of your combat skills. Having to drink brews too often will reduce your chance on getting loot severely. When exchanging defence bonuses for offensive bonuses, a player should keep their team size in mind: in a small team, the player with a low defence will take much damage, causing them to loose time and effectiveness on Saradomin brews.

Nex armours
All of the Nex armours (Virtus, Pernix and Torva) increase the player's maximum life points, causing the Saradomin brews and Healing aura scrolls to heal more. The higher maximum life points also makes you last longer while tanking, so that you can concentrate on killing the Corporeal beast instead of staying alive. Because of its negative melee attack bonuses, using Pernix at a FFA is discouraged.

Bandos and Torva
The main use of the Bandos chestplate and tassets are the Strength bonus. If one is too poor to afford a Bandos chestplate, he may use a Fighter torso instead. Wealthy players may also use Torva equipment instead, which offer the same Strength bonuses, but also higher melee bonuses combined with a life points boost. When using one of these pieces of armour, a player should always pray Deflect magic.

Strength vs Accuracy[edit | edit source]

Strength bonus increases your maximum hit slightly. With Extreme strength and maximum Turmoil, every Strength bonus will increase your maximum hit by about 3.
Helm of neitiznot / Torva full helm: +3 Strength (+9)
Fighter hat: +5 Stab

Fire cape: +1 Stab, +4 Strength (+12)
Ardougne cloak 3/4: +6 Stab

Berserker ring (i): +8 Strength (+24)
Onyx ring (i): +6 Stab

In small FFAs, accuracy is more useful than strength, because your chance to hit will increase (you have got more opportunities to deal damage). In larger teams, Strength bonus also proves its usefulness: you have to hit as much as possible in the spare chances you get.

Void armour[edit | edit source]

In this section, I assume that you're equipped with a Fighter hat, Ardougne cloak 3, Amulet of fury, Zamorakian spear, Bandos chestplate, Bandos tassets, RFD gloves, Dragon boots and Berserker ring (i). Stab attack bonus: +118, Strength bonus: +113.

According to the Calculators/Max hit melee|Max hit calculator at the RS Wiki, 99 Strength, Maximum Turmoil, Extreme Strength and +113 Strength, your maximum hit is 508. When using void, the Strength bonuses will be reduced to +95, resulting in a max hit of 501, which is slightly lower. Void will be better in terms of Strength, ONLY if you are not using Bandos.

According to the The Accuracy Formula thread, the formula for accuracy is:

(AttackLevel * PrayerAttackBonus + 8 + AttackStyleBonus) * (1 + AttackBonus/64) * Multipliers

Assuming Overloads, 99 Attack, Maximum Turmoil effect and Lung attack style, the formula would be:

172.25 * (1 + AttackBonus/64) * Multipliers

Parsing the formula with a stab attack bonus of +118: 172.25*(1+118/64) = 489.8
Using void will reduce the Stab attack bonus to +101, but raise the multiplier to 1.1: 172.25*(1+101/64)*1.1 = 488.5

Void is slightly less accurate with the suggested equipment. Void will be slightly more accurate if the player isn't using a Fighter hat or Ardougne cloak 3, or if the player is using an Onyx ring (i).

Void is similar, if not worse, to the suggested equipment.


Duo[edit | edit source]

One kill per trip method: Banking takes just a few minutes, while the Special attack energy is also restoring.

See Methods > Team for the main methods. I will only describe the different methods.

See Inventory > Duo for Duo inventory. Swap one Saradomin brew for a Ring of Wealth. I also recommend the Terrorbird tactic.

Duo partner 1: Lurer Duo partner 2: Not a lurer

Duo partner 1 (lurer):

  • Dismiss your Terrorbird outside the Corporeal beast cave (preferred northwest of the entrance)
  • Lure the Corporeal beast (See Section 3.2)
  • Drink Overload
  • Eat the sharks
  • Drink the Saradomin brew(1) and drop the vial
  • Run to the spot where you killed your bird and take the brews

Duo partner 2:

  • Drink Overload
  • Eat 3 sharks
  • Drink Saradomin brew(1) and drop the vial
  • Use Take-BoB to retrieve all 4 Saradomin brews from your Terrorbird
  • Dismiss bird
  • Activate Deflect melee, Leech Defence, Leech Magic
  • Enter the Corporeal beast cave through the southern part of the entrance (to avoid getting stomped)
  • Run to the west side of the Corporeal beast
  • Attack the Corporeal beast

Duo partner 1:

  • Activate the Quick prayers (Turmoil, Deflect melee)
  • Enter the Corporeal beast cave through the southern part of the entrance
  • Attack the Corporeal beast (Turmoil effect will maximize now)
  • Equip Bandos godsword/Darklight, and use the Special attack(s)
  • Drink a recover special and equip the Zamorakian spear
  • Activate Leech Defence and Leech Magic

Duo partner 2:

  • Activate the Quick Prayers (Turmoil, Deflect melee)
  • Touch the Corporeal beast to maximize the Turmoil effect
  • Equip Bandos godsword/Darklight, and use the Special attack(s)
  • Drink a recover special and equip the Zamorakian spear

Drink Recover specials when possible. If your special attack is ready, notify your duo partner, so that he can use Leech curses. Leech Magic will decrease the power of Corporeal beast's magical attacks. Leech Defence lowers the Corporeal beast's defence temporarily, incresing the chance on a successfull special attack.

Equip a Ring of Wealth when Corp is close to death.

Finding a team[edit | edit source]

Pro teams are usually recruited at the Corporeal beast thread of the Members 1800+ Teamworks forum. Additionally, the Corporeal beast thread (M) of the Members Teamworks forum can be used. Few players are seeking for a Pro team at the Everyone Teamworks forum. You should only posta maximum of one thread per forum section (Everyone, Members, Members 1800+). Posting multiple threads with the same subject is spam, and against the rules. You are allowed to add multiple replies at the Corporeal beast threads, if you don't spam. Posting your recruitment post a few times while no-one else posted between these posts is considered spam.

Pre-preparation with a Statius's warhammer[edit | edit source]

Teleport to the Corporeal beast's lair using the Games necklace.
Activate Berserker and take a sip from the Super defence potion (pay attention to your boosted Defence level).
Activate the following prayers: Protect items, Berserker, Deflect magic and Leech defence. Lure the Corporeal beast by entering and exiting the cave. If the Corporeal beast is lured, turn off Deflect magic. If you see your Defence level drop by one, immediately do the following:

  1. Take a sip from your Extreme attack potion.
  2. Equip your Statius's warhammer and Dragon defender.
  3. Activate Turmoil and Deflect melee.
  4. Enter the cave and use the Statius's warhammer:

After you've finished this trip, you can choose to repeat this trip (if all of your special attacks failed), continue with a pre-preparation trip with a BGS, or continue with the Real fight.


Pre-preparation trip with a Bandos godsword[edit | edit source]

Teleport to the Corporeal beast's lair using the Games necklace.
optional Lure the Corporeal beast using the method described above.

  1. Activate Protect items, Berserker, Deflect melee and Turmoil.
  2. Activate your special attack bar
  3. Take a sip from your Extreme attack and Extreme strength potions.
  4. Enter the cave, and use the special attack of the Bandos godsword on the Corporeal beast.
  5. Click at the Teleport to house tablet to get away, and get yourself killed (see Methods > Player owned house).

Repeat this until you've drained the defence by a significant amount.
Notes:

  • The Corporeal beast regains some of his Defence levels over time, in the same way that players are regaining health/stats if they've drained. I suspect this drain rate to be higher as usual (according to my surveys).
  • If you're trying to drain the defence of the Corporeal beast in this way, you might end up spending some time before getting a real kill. Only use this method if you cannot afford a Statius's warhammer, or if you want to determine the real defence level of the Corporeal beast.
  • This method recommends a good house setup: The speed of this method depends on the speed of dieing at your Player owned house.
  • Taking a Darklight is hardly useful if the Defence of the Corporeal beast is already low, since a DL drains defence according to 1 + 5% of the current defence level. Taking a darklight for draining a few defence levels is a waste of inventory space.


The solo fight[edit | edit source]

The quick prayer should be at: Protect Items, Deflect melee and Turmoil.

Your defense against magical attacks is dependent on your Magic level. If you taken lots of sips from your Saradomin brew, don't forget to take a sip from your Super restore potion. To save money, you might want to swap some Super restore potions for regular Restore potions. If you're afraid of dead, because your Saradomin brews are gone, switch to the Equipment tab (F5) and rightclick at any of your teleport items (e.g. Ardougne cloak, Ring of Wealth, ...)

With Summoning[edit | edit source]

Take a Spirit terrorbird, and fill it with 11 Saradomin brews and 1 shark. Replace four brews in your inventory by 3 sharks and 1 Saradomin brew (1). The shark inside the Terrorbird is used to make rightclicking easer: Without a shark, a pile of dropped Saradomin brews is hard to reach.
Teleport to the Corporeal beast's lair using a Games necklace, and walk through the first two caves until you arrive at the entrace to the Corporeal beast.

  1. Take a sip of Overload.
  2. Eat three sharks to recover from the 500 Life points loss by drinking Overload.
  3. Take a sip from the Saradomin brew (1), to boost your lifes
  4. Drop the vial, take the Saradomin brews from the Terrorbird, and swap the games necklace in your inventory for a Saradomin brew
  5. Lure the Corporeal beast.
  6. Activate your Quick prayers, and enter the cave.
  7. If you have to heal yourself, only start using a Saradomin brew (4) if you don't have fewer doses left. If you've drunk lots of Saradomin brews, take a sip from the Super restore potion (to recover your drained skills and magic level (Magic level = magic defence)). Drop empty vials. Make sure that you fill your empty slots with the dropped Saradomin brews before two minutes are passed. After two minutes, these dropped items will disappear.
    Stun the Dark energy core if it spawns. If you're skilled enough, use Soul splitting to save Saradomin brews.
  8. Dead: Congratulations on soloing the Corporeal beast! Or did you mean: "I'm dead"?


Without Summoning[edit | edit source]

Take a Spirit terrorbird, and fill it with 7 Saradomin brews. Swap four brews in your inventory for 5 Sharks and 1 Saradomin brew (1).

  1. After arriving at the entrance of the Corporeal beast, dismiss your Terrorbird.
  2. Lure the Corporeal beast
  3. Drop your games necklace
  4. Eat sharks if your lifes are below 500.
  5. Take a sip of Overload
  6. Eat all of the remaining sharks to recover from the 500 Lifes lost by Overload. Eat/drop the remaining sharks to free inventory space.
  7. Drink a Saradomin brew (1) to boost your lifes
  8. Take all (7) Saradomin brews from the floor.
  9. Activate your Quick prayers, and enter the cave.
  10. If you have drunk many doses of Saradomin brews after each other, take a sip from the Super restore potion, to restored your drained stats. A higher magic level increases your magic defence. Stun the Dark energy core if it spawns. If you're skilled enough, use Soul splitting to save Saradomin brews.
  11. Dead or died
Without defence drain[edit | edit source]

Summon a Terrorbird, and fill it with 6 Saradomin brews. Swap 5 brews in your Inventory for 3 Sharks, 1 Saradomin brew (1) and 1 Restore potion (1).

  1. Cast Vengeance optional
  2. Drop the Games necklace after teleporting
  3. Take a sip of Overload
  4. Eat 3 sharks, drink a Saradomin brew (1) and Restore potion (1) and drop the two vials
  5. Take the items from your Terrorbird, and dismiss it
  6. Run inside the cave, while praying Deflect magic and Turmoil
  7. Switch to Deflect melee when you're approaching the Corporeal beast
    • Flash Soul split during the fight
    • Cast Vengeance after every 30 seconds of cooldown optional
    • Stun the core once it's summoned. If you didn't drain the defence of the Corporeal beast, the core will appear when the Corporeal beast have 1/3 - 1/2 lifes left.
  8. Before the Corporeal beast dies, equip the Ring of Wealth. optional



Dieing[edit | edit source]

If you die, no gravestones will appear. Your items will become publicly visible after one minute, and disappear after two minutes. It's not hard to get back in 50 seconds (=10 seconds to loot your most valuable items before anyone sees your items). See Mugger759: Solo Corp guide, 6:07 for video version of this section.

  • Bank your items using the Bank-Inventory button (only if you don't want to continue fighting immediately after looting)
  • Get the following items from your bank:
    - Games necklace, to get back at the Corporeal beast
    - Black dragonhide body and Black dragonhide chaps To have some defense against the Corporeal beast
    - Some sharks or other food, to stay alive when looting your items (5 pieces, because it's an option in the menu: Withdraw 5 Shark)
  • Optionally:
    - Teleport to house tablet, to teleport away after you've looted your items
    - 85-170k coins (dependent on your Smithing level), for repairing your broken Karil's equipment at the Armour stand
  • After you've got these items from your bank, use the Games necklace to teleport to the Corporeal beast.
  • Turn Auto retaliate OFF
  • Run to the next cave entrance, while equipping black dragonhide
  • Enter the next cave entrance, and run towards the next entrance
  • Activate Protect items, Deflect magic and Turmoil
  • Enter the cave, and run to the spot where you died
  • Loot your items, but use your common sense:
    - If you're standing in its melee range, use Deflect melee
    - If your items are inside the Corporeal beast, ask your team members to move to your spot temporarily, in order to get the Corporeal beast moved
    - Eat sharks if your life points run below 600


If you looted enough supplies, you can stay and continue fighting. Instead, you can also:

  1. Teleport away using your Teleport to house
  2. Walk to the Workshop to repair your Karil's
  3. Die in your Dungeon to recover drained stats
  4. Restock supplies at the bank, and go back to the Corporeal beast.
