I mostly enjoy music with a meaning. Music that seems to tell a story of at least some kind, rather than just someone screaming the same rhyming phrases over and over again. I mostly like country, rock, and pop music, both newer and older music. I immensely dislike scream-o and death metal. I'm not much of a metal or rap fan either. I'd say I'm neutral on lyricless music, such as classical, but don't really listen to it.

Artists[edit | edit source]

While I'm always open to new music, I tend to have a few favorite artists whose songs I know the best, and tend to remember them the most. While I can't truly rank them in a particular order, due to my musical preferences often jumping around depending on "what I'm feeling like at the time", in rough order:

Ideas[edit | edit source]

Got a cool song you think I'll like? Feel free to add it below and I might give it a go (any Justin Beiber posts will be met with blazing resistance).

  • So...you like songs with a meaning, eh? so do I :). Try Tori Amos, she's one of my favorites. The songs I like best of her's are, in order (my top five): Crucify, God, Girl, Silent All These Years, cover version of Smells Like Teen Spirit. Enjoy :).
  • Also, if you like deep music, what are Cascada and Taylor Swift doing on your list? Cascada is a dancing for the sake of it electronica band with beats more important than lyrics, and Taylor Swift just spouts the same old self esteem credo typical of teen pop these days. I'm not saying they can't sing, Natalie Horler and Taylor are both immensly talented, their lyrics just don't do it for me is all.
