This is my suggestion for the wilderness
Purpose: many players have disliked the wilderness so i brought this up to bring back PK but it will be different from the old wilderness.
The wilderness terrain[edit | edit source]
The wilderness will be devided into the lower wilderness (the area available to both free to play and members) and the high wilderness (which is available to members only).
The lower wilderness will retain all its present features but bounty hunter and clan wars will be moved elsewhere (out of the wild). Player-killing is allowed in this area (see below for details) and monsters, including revenants, will continue to linger. Note that the old level of the wilderness is in effect - at level 5 players can only attack other players or revenants 5 levels above or below their own combat level. At level 20 wilderness, teleports do not work (even if the players have finished their mission, see below).
The high wilderness will retain its original feature. However, it will not be a PK area but all monsters here will be aggresive. THis area is accessible only via special portal found in falador dungeon (i will fill this up further later and it may be another city but u can suggest some in the talk page).
Mechanics of the wilderness[edit | edit source]
The wilderness ditch will still exist and players will be given the same warning message as the old. Players can also enter the wild by using ancient magick teleport. Whichever ways, upon entering the wild, Vis Raugal (see below), will greet the player and assign missions to the player. Players cannot leave the wild unless they complete their mission or any obligations Vis Raugal assigned to them (unless they die without a skull).
Missions are given to players entering the wild. Depending on the player, missions include collecting items, mining, fishing, or killing a certain amount of monsters. Upon entering the wild, players will be allowed to choose to collect items, or kill monsters.
Killing of monsters. The killing of monsters depends on the player's combat level - the targeted monster's level is equal or up to 15 levels above the player's own. The number of monsters also increase with the player's own level. Level 3 players will be assigned to kill a few giant rats. Level 90 players will be assigned to kill 20 greater demons. Note that Vis Raugal may ask players to kill mre than one type of monster but he will never assign players to kill a boss (like the King Black Dragon) or a revenant.
Blessing the dead. This mission involves the player burrying bones and giving blessing to the graves in the wilderness' cemeteries (grveyard of shadows, the unnamed grave marker, and the forgotten cemetery). The number of bones to bury and the graves to give blessing depend on the player's prayer and combat level.
Collecting items. This mission involves players to get furnished items in the wild as "exit tributes" for Vis Raugal. the items to be collected range from bones and runes to steel plate or uncut spphire (all of which respawn in the wild). Note that Vis Raugal may ask for more than one kind of item and their number can also vary. The higher the combat level of the player, the more items he will ask and the harder the items are to get.
Mining. This mission involves a player having to mine a certain number of ores or coal (depending on Vis Raugal's demands). Note that Vis Raugal will assign ores which players can mine. Low level miners will be asked to mine iron (5 - 10) while high level miners will be assigned to give plenty of coals (up to 70) or a few addamantite. He will not assign players to mine runite. Note that Vis Raugal may ask for more than one kind of ore and their number can also vary. The higher the mining level of the player, the more ores he will ask.
Fishing. Players will also choose to fish in return for Vis Raugal's permission to leave the wilderness. Vis Raugal will assign only fishes which can be fished in the wilderness. Note that he will accept only raw fishes and the fish he will ask and the number of fishes will depend on the player's fishing level. Low level fishers will be asked to fish 10 shrimps, high level fishers will be assigned to catch lobsters or swordfish. Note that Vis Raugal may ask for more than one kind of fish in a mission.
Note that missions cannot change once the players has selected and Vis Raugal has assigned. Vis Raugal will also not credit players for giving him items not assigned in the mission or killing monsters not assigned to kill. He will also not credit or give more rewards to players for getting items or killing more monsters than what assigned. Items which players have taken but is needed in the mission will be taken by Raugal in exchange for the rewards.
To encourge plyers to finish their missions, any player who accomplishes the missions Vis Raugal assigned will be given a reward, depending on the mission they accomplish. To get your reward you have to finish Vis Raugal's assigned mission and exit the wilderness using the wilderness ditch or use any teleportation spells. If player dies but has accomplished their mission, Vis Raugal will appear next to the player after the player has respawn and will give the reward. (all items are for one use only).
Orb of Combat. This is an item which when used gives a number of combat experience to any one combat skill (except pryer). The experience points given is 50 times the player's combat experience. Vis Raugal will give only one Orb of Combat per monster-killing mission.
Box of Blessing essence. Vis Raugal gives this is as a reward for finishing the blessing mission the player was assigned. This item grants 50 times prayer experience in proportion to the player's level (if the player has level 20 prayer, he will get 1000 prayer experience).
Cash. Plyers who accomplished getting the items Vis Raugal assigned will be give a certain amount of money - which is twice the GE's value of all the items the player is assigned to get.
Miner's charm. This is a special item which Vis Raugal gives to the player for finishing the assigned mining task in the wilderness. This item rewards the player with mining mining experience - the experience given is 100 times the player's own level.
Ocean's dream potion. This is an item given as a reward from Vis Raugal to any player who had completed the fishing mission, this item will give 200 times the fishing experience of the player's fishing level.
Player killing[edit | edit source]
Player killing is allowed in the lower wilderness, however note that players who attack or kills will be punished with get a skull. Once skulled, they cannot leave the wilderness (if they die, they will respawn randomly in the wild) and will be given extended missions to remove their skull status.
Penalties for being skulled (this is known as the extended mission):
- Increase of mission. Depending on the player's mission, Vis Raugal will be angry and he will assign the player to do more than what the assigned mission requires. If the player is required o kill 5 greater demons, Vis Raugal will require the skulled player with 10 or 20 greater demon (the gravity of his penalty bestowed to a player is random).
- Time limit to finish. Players will be assigned a time limit (depending on how hard the extended mission is). Player who fail to finish the extended mission in the time provided will further anger Vis Raugal. He will unleash his wrath by having the player killed using one of his Dark Servants. If the player dies, they will respawn randomly in the wilderness with their mission and extended mission "back to zero" with the same timer(eg, if a player hav to kill 200 greater demons and killed only 160 within the time limit, Vis Raugal will summon one of his Dark Servants to kill the player and once the player respawn in the wilderness they will find their kill count which was 160 back to zero again). Players who fail to acheive this 5 times will be kicked out of the wilderness in their 5th death and will respawn back into their original respawn point (Lumbridge or Falador) and will lose some skill points of all their total experience points in all skills (5% lose of skill points for every player they attack or kill), they will also lose all the items they are carrying.
Any skulled player who attacks any players they are not assigned to kill will be attacked by one of Vis Raugal's Dark Servants. Note that its impossible to kill any Dark Servants - their health do not go below 50% and they can heal to full health.
Death[edit | edit source]
Players must be careful in the wild to avoid getting their rewards voided and to avoid too much penalties. Depending on the player' status, the loses are the following:
Non-skulled, mission accomplished. Players who finished their mission, did not get skulled but died in before the got out of the wilderness to claim their reward will be given their reward right after they respawn. They will, however, lose all but their 3 most valuable items (4 with protection prayer).
Non-skulled, mission not finished. Players who did not get skulled but died before they could finish their mission will forfeit their reward and mission. They will, however, lose all but their 3 most valuable items (4 with protection prayer). They can re-enter the wilderness and get their lost item and they will also be assigned their new missions.
Skulled, mission accomplished. Players who finished their mission and extended mission will immediately lose their skull status and get their rewards in the same manner as non-skulled players who accomplished their mission.
Skulled, mission not accomplished. Vis Raugal will reset their mission as explained above:
- If the player dies, they will respawn randomly in the wilderness with their mission and extended mission "back to zero" with the same timer(eg, if a player hav to kill 200 greater demons and killed only 160 within the time limit, Vis Raugal will summon one of his Dark Servants to kill the player and once the player respawn in the wilderness they will find their kill count which was 160 back to zero again). Players who fail to acheive this 5 times will be kicked out of the wilderness in their 5th death and will respawn back into their original respawn point (Lumbridge or Falador) and will lose some skill points of all their total experience points in all skills (5% lose of skill points for every player they attack or kill), they will also lose all the items they are carrying.
Lost items[edit | edit source]
Any items players lost in the wild, players can get them back thru the tombstone on their deathspot. However, if the grave marker protecting the item is lost, the items will automatically be "transported" to the party room (it will be dropped randomly via the balloons any minute soon).
Personalities[edit | edit source]
He is the guardian in the wilderness. He assigns players mission, gives rewards to those who finishes assigned missions, and penalizes any player who kills or attacks other players. His looks like a skeleton with deep glowing red eyes in ornated black armor on top of a dark robe, supported with a black-gray trimmed cape cape a hood. (his cape looks like a trimmed skill cape with gray trim but instead of the skill logo, a skull is marked at the back of his cape).
She is a seller of many items which players might need in the wilderness. The items she sells include picks (up to runite) and fishing equiptment. She also sells bread she wine but does not sell armors and weapons. She can be found in the bandit camp, as a middl-age lady in ragged clothes.
Note: picks and fishing equiptment can also be sold among wilderness merchants.
