Merchanting Help, Hints, and Tips[edit | edit source]

Profiting from others' impatience

Buying[edit | edit source]

What and when to buy

What To Buy[edit | edit source]

Any Item can be profitable, but I personally prefer flipping both Consumables and Primary Products in bulk since they are always in demand. However, Equipment and Discontinued rare items could earn you more profit, but you may have to hold onto them longer and continuously watch the Grand Exchange very carefully. I recommend to stay away from new Items as they will generally drop drastically over the next few months! Items could take up to a month to change price direction (increase or decrease).

When To Buy[edit | edit source]

Any Item that has dropped BELOW either the 2-week or 30-day average, but preferably has leveled-out, and appears its price is about to increase very soon.

When To Sell[edit | edit source]

Any Item that has risen ABOVE either the 2-week or 30-day average, but preferably has leveled-out, and appears its price is about to decrease very soon. Items could take up to a month to change price direction (increase or descrease).

Herb seeds[edit | edit source]

Personally, I don't think you can go wrong with merchanting Herb seeds, as long as you buy them at their lowest price possible. Even if it takes about a month for their prices to increase to a decent amount to sell, in the meantime, you can farm some or most of the Herb seeds into Herbs and make an even bigger profit, since Herbs usually sell higher than their Herb seeds do, and you average roughly about five or six Herbs per Herb seed (give or take, depending upon the Herb seed and your Farming level). But that's just my two cents, and you would, of course, need the appropriate Farming level to farm the Herb seeds you bought into Herbs.
