This list compiles the first references to each of the Mahjarrat and Gods in RuneScape. This list generally uses the first reference to the character to dictate their position, regardless of whether it was by name, or if they were even intended to be gods or Mahjarrat at the time.

However, in cases like Moia, where she was both unnamed and unintended to even exist at the time of her first reference, the character's first reference by name is used to dictate their position instead. This is contrast to characters like Ali the Wise and the figure in the Crumbling tome, as they were always intended to be Mahjarrat (and in the former's case, a Mahjarrat named Wahisietel).

All cases where applicable, both the character's first reference and first named reference are included.

Notes[edit | edit source]

  1. ^ We have no idea when the original six lore stories were released, beyond "2003-2004", since the first updates to the Lores and Histories section (or Library of Varrock as it was known at the time) didn't actually say what they contained. The second part of the Legend of Arrav is referenced by a player in the 23rd issue of the God Letters, released on 17 August 2004, so that places the first three parts prior to that.
  2. ^ The original developer for the quest has confirmed that he was always intended to be an amnesiac Mahjarrat, but presumably the name "Kharshai" didn't come into existence until Paul & co determined all the living and recently deceased Mahjarrat in late 2008 - early 2009.
  3. ^ Mod Rowley has confirmed that this figure was always intended to be a Mahjarrat, but he hadn't been named at the time.
