Wilderness player killing (often called wildy pk or pk) is the act of entering into the wilderness and attacking other players in an attempt to take the items in which they are carrying. Some players even decide to settle arguements in an anything goes fight to the bloody death

Strategies[edit | edit source]

Safing: Not to be confused with safe-spotting, safing is eating food that heals more than most players can hit constantly. Some common types of safe food are tuna, lobster, swordfish, shark, rocktail, and tiger shark. Many players attempt to trick their opponents by eating cake, pie or pizza, healing in intervals of about 50-100 hp at one time, then lying by saying it is trout or salmon. This method is frowned upon and often results in opponents running.

Quick switching: In order to evade the restraints of a protection prayer, some players will grab some dragonhide and a maple- magic shortbow, along with a cheap but effective melee, such as a rune scimitar, dragon longsword, or a rune/dragon spear. Then, whenever the opponent uses one prayer, the player will stay in close combat and use the other weapon, sometimes throwing a magic spell into the mix. A few players prefer to alternate with void helms as well.

Go for Broke: This is the strategy of using the best and most poerful gear at your disposal. Many popular kits are bandos, barrows, rune with berserker and gauntlets, gravites, chaotics, and even dragon. This is expensive so it will draw a lot of fire from people who would sell or use it. But the advantage is that it can tank a lot of damage and is quite resilient. Often times they will stay below level 20 wilderness so they can teleport if necesary.

Penny Pincher: This method involves decent equipment that won't break the bank, such as dragonhide. Many players will use dragonhide body and chaps with any sort of helmet they choose, along with usually a ranged or melee weapon. Often the total cost on f2p is below 100k and on p2p below 500k, making it quite an easy replacement.

Prayer: This is simplay using gear that will give some of the highest prayers available. On f2p, the most common is monk robes, on mems it is proselyte or god robes. Various weapons are used depending on the player.
