From April 23rd to May 26th you will be able to exchange a Bond to summon your very own Portable Trader, like the current Vic the Trader, to spend your hard-earned Bonus XP.
At this time, this is not a permanent addition to the game, but may be re-introduced permanently if it proves popular. This does not impact the usual occurrence of Vic the Trader.
How does this work?
1. Withdraw a Bond into your inventory.
2. Access the Bond interface, then locate the Portable Trader.
3. Click on the Summoning Stone in the inventory.
4. Deposit unwanted bonus XP.
5. Purchase desired items with credits.
Once activated, the Portable Trader remains available for 1 hour – and if you leave the game this timer is paused. Should you lose sight of your Trader, he can be re-summoned using the same Stone. The Portable Trader can be accessed an unlimited number of times while active. You can buy multiple stones, and they remain available to you even after the promotion ends.
Is this available for F2P players?
Yes! For the first time ever, free-to-play players can interact with Vic and trade in their bonus XP.
How much does the Portable Trader cost?
The Portable Trader costs one Bond.
Does this mean the regular Vic the Trader is disappearing?
No. Right now we have no plans to remove the frequently occurring free Vic the Trader.
How long will the Portable Trader last when summoned?
The Portable Trader will be active for exactly 1 hour and the timer is paused should you log off. During this time you can trade and spend earnt credits. There will also be a buff on your buff bar showing how long you have left.
At the end of the promotion, will purchased Summoning Stones be removed?
No, all purchased Summoning Stones are available to use after the promotion.
Does that mean there will be Portable Traders everywhere?
You cannot place a Portable Trader within 3 tiles of another players trader or a 10-tile radius of the standard Vic the Trader. Players can only summon one Trader at any given time.
What if I forget where I put my Portable Trader?
Don’t worry, you can summon him in most places that allow Summoning Familiars. On top of this, if you have a large distance between you and the Trader they will automatically be dismissed.
If you have any more questions or suggestions, members of the Valkyries team will be available to chat in our official Discord server here - in the portable-vic-discussion channel - starting tomorrow (27th March), until the end of the week.
