These official Patch Notes are copied verbatim from this forum thread of the RuneScape forums. It is copyrighted by Jagex.
These Patch Notes were announced on 12 December 2016 by Mod William.

The following fixes and tweaks have now been implemented. If you believe a change has not been documented, either in the patch notes or the news posts for this week’s update, please detail the change so that it may be added.

As always, be sure to submit a bug report should you encounter a gameplay bug or graphical glitch in-game.


  • Lookout Ekahi no longer has an incorrect zombie head in chat after curing him.
  • Players will no longer float while standing on specific spots in Port Sarim.
  • An issue with the Satyr leggings stretching when using certain weapons has been fixed.
  • The Black Knight Titan now animates when fought in the Dominion Tower.
  • Missing architecture has been re-added to the Paterdomus beacon.
  • The door to the stock room in Wydin's Food Store now opens the correct way.
  • White Knights with outdated white plate armour have been graphically updated.
  • White Knight partisans in Falador Castle have been updated to wear red-trimmed armour, instead of initiate blue.
  • A guard north of Falador (south of the Grim Tales tower) has been graphically updated.
  • The Falador guards Billy and Bob, who appear in a cutscene during Garden of Tranquillity, have been graphically updated.
  • An animation issue with Vanstrom hanging in the air during blood bomb has been fixed.
  • A cave opening has collapsed, hiding a prominent hole in the wall within the Underground Pass.
  • Akrisae's war mace is now held correctly in Legacy Mode.
  • The zoom and position of enchanted emeralds in the inventory slot has been amended.
  • The Samurai Cooking animation has been tweaked so that the sword is sheathed correctly.
  • A stretching issue on Zenevivia during the Love Story quest has been fixed.
  • A split seam at the top of the Cursed Reaver Scythe has been fixed.
  • The Cursed Reaver Scythe should now fit in your hand correctly.
  • An issue with a desert bandit chat head model has been fixed.
  • A rare occurrence of the woodcutting animation not playing in clan citadels has been fixed.
  • Kamil's outfit is now far less transparent, as is the Ramokee Skinweaver's outfit in the Polypore Dungeon.
  • Z-bias has been fixed in NXT client for the Elemental Workshop 4 cosmic puzzle.
  • Disappearing scenery in Daemonheim has been fixed.

Skills, D&Ds & Minigames

  • Saradomin brews now all show the amount they heal, visible on mouse-over.
  • References of 'tortoise shell bowls' have been corrected to 'tortle shell bowls' in the Crafting skillguide.
  • Slimy eels now give the correct XP when caught.
  • Stomp will now always drop two crystals in Dungeoneering!
  • Agility shortcut in Port Phasmatys in now shown on the world map.
  • An issue with a hint arrow pointing to the wrong location for the Stealing Creation minigame.
  • Players can now enter Guthixian cache after already completing one today.
  • Gatherers rings inside Dungeoneering now once again work with Fishing and Farming. Go on, spend some tokens!
  • Boss rotations and D&D weekly and monthly resets are now auto-tweeted.
  • An issue where stoves in Varrock palace kitchen were not allowing food to be cooked has been fixed.
  • The portable fletcher bonus now functions correctly when tipping bolts.
  • Tipping bolts will now give you a chance to receive the fletching pet.
  • Making ascension ammo will now activate bonuses such as silverhawks and the skilling backpack.
  • An issue with The Heart's instance message.
  • 'Access to the Empty Throne Room' has been added to all relevant skill guides.
  • Evergreen trees on the White Wolf Mountain now correctly give sap.
  • Augmented superior Morrigan's javelins and throwing axes may now be disassembled before they've completely run out of charge.

Quests, Challenges and Achievements

  • The 'Impressing the Locals' miniquest is now a Novice difficulty quest, awarding 1 Quest Point. Those who have completed the miniquest do not need to complete it again. This change was made to increase the visibility of the quest and - by extension - the way to access the Eastern Lands.
  • A typo in Azzanadra's post-Heart of Stone quest dialogue has been fixed.


  • A gargoyle trapped behind some rocks in the west Wilderness ruins has been rescued.
  • A typo on the Master camouflage outfit's teleport interface has been fixed.
  • Scopulus's hunt range has been increased.
  • The RoTS entry mechanic has been changed to allow for fewer than 4 players. Instance creation remains unchanged and will still require one of your party to spend a Barrows totem. As such, you can now play this content with between 1 and 4 players. Simply standing on any of the platforms with that many players will let you begin.
  • Araxxor's web shield now correctly reflects damage after using an instakill dart.
  • A fix has been put in place as an attempt to fix Araxxor's delayed animation on path 3 when charging at the player.
  • The dragon mace's special attack now increases the special attacks accuracy by 25%.
  • The dragon mace's special attack now correctly deals between 100-300% damage.
  • Once the last pedestal has been clicked in the QBD encounter, players will no longer be affected by Time Stop.
  • Players are no longer able to walk into a cart on Tuai Leit.
  • Purchasing PoP boots/gloves scrolls from Boni no longer requires 85 Defence. The Defence requirement is still in place for wearing them.
  • You can now travel to the Uncharted Isles from the quartermaster in Port Sarim, if you have previously visited at least one Uncharted Isle.
  • Most water barrels in the Arc now function as water sources.
  • A gnome hut at the Tuai Leit colony no has a lamp examine.
  • A typo in the Tuai Leit's Own miniquest has been fixed.
  • Animation timings for placing and checking tortle traps have been shortened slightly. Hunting tortles should now feel closer to box-trapping.
  • You can now teleport from the Arc islands using Grand Tree seed pods without complaints that you're underground!
  • Picking up noted and unnoted items will no longer add a duplicate entry for the same item in RuneMetrics loot window.
  • A typo on Nemi Forest's dead monk has been fixed.
  • Using the ancient hymnal on the Falador Castle altar now checks for all ranks and genders of White Knight.
  • A 'Nothing interesting happens' message that appears incorrectly when you use empty bucket on the sandpit in Yanille has been removed.
  • Dialogue boxes no longer instantly close if an ability is active after killing Snothead in Land of the Goblins.
  • Held familiar scrolls are no longer lootable by Ironmen when an enemy is killed.
  • Follower pets will no longer show food bonuses in the pet interface, as only Legendary pets can eat food.
  • An issue where the warning message was blocked by target information when fighting gelatinous abomination without spiked gauntlets.
  • A typo seen during the Vorago waterfall phase has been fixed.
  • A typo in the Boat to the Arc reward chest post-event message has been fixed.
  • The white tree shoot now has a left-click 'Water' option.
  • Can no longer apply a weaker anti-poison effect if a stronger effect is already active.
  • Several spelling errors of the word 'received' have recieved received corrections.
  • Some unneeded spacing has been cleared up from the skill guide.
  • Renting or purchasing the Wealth Evaluator will no longer disable keybinds.
  • Mr Ex has created a noticeboard to commemorate some legends of the Ironman community.
  • Silverhawk boots can now be recharged while wearing them.
  • An issue with the 'take all' option on loot and reward crates has been fixed.
  • Some leftover halloween decorations have been removed and auctioned off at the G.E.
  • Greorovic's blade juggle attack no longer has a chance to deal damage when it shouldn't be able to.
  • An issue where opening a chest in Treasure Hunter could cause the multiplier timer to keep resetting in God Wars Dungeon 2 has been fixed.
  • Light creatures familiar options will no longer re-appear after completing a lap of the Hefin agility course, if you have hide familiar options ticked.
  • Buying the Revenant Drop Enhancer from the DM rewards shop with a full inventory will no longer charge you DM points.
  • A problem with buying multiple items at once from a shop.
  • Amulet of the Forsaken can now be repaired into the new version, allowing it to to be traded again.
  • The correct revenent pet will now appear when overriding a familiar.
